If he does sign, I dare you to get "Hooper" on the back of a Saints shirt and wear it around Glasgow. I think you would get an interesting mix of reactions from Rangers/Celtic fans.

Nothing wrong with being a goal poacher, it is a skill in its own right to get in the right place at the right time and finish it off. Did Lineker no harm.

Puncheon could easily do a great job in the SPL. Most non Old Firm clubs wouldn't look out of place at the bottom of the Championship/top of League One. Jason did okay for a struggling Premier League side, very well in a short spell at Millwall in the Championship and good in the first 5 months at Saints.

It isn't "pure speculation", Neil Lennon confirmed Saints made an enquiry and when questioned about Hooper he didn't rule it out like he has with other names put to him.

The £90m often used by the press is the figure if you were to stay in the Premier League for one year and then get 4 years of parachute payments. So the £90m is over 5 years. If you weren't relegated, those same 5 years could see the club earn £200m+ in TV money. None of this takes into account the extra money you could earn through increased sponsorship, advertising, ticket sales, merchandising etc etc whilst in the top flight.

Not at all, you can sign a contract that takes effect from your 17th birthday. Which is what Saints have done with a large number of their current scholars.

I think doing the best for the promotion campaign comes above playing him in front of an Asian audience in the priority list for Saints at the moment.
