  1. - 2006 Middlesbrough in a European final - 2010 Fulham in a European final Is it really beyond the realms of possibilities that Saints could make a European final?
  2. Bump! The rumour is back... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4352558/Liam-Trotter-transfer-Millwall-midfielder-wanted-by-Southamptons-Nigel-Adkins.html
  3. I'd imagine Cortese/other senior management give Umbro a brief and then as you say Umbro provide a number of designs and then Cortese ultimately decides.
  4. Like we did for the entire 1980's... 1980 - 1985 1985 - 1987 1987 - 1989
  5. How quickly would Butland likely oust 21 year old, £17 million signing David De Gea? How quickly would Butland likely oust 35 year old Kelvin Davis?
  6. What makes Birmingham a "similar size" and better bet to stay with than moving to Saints? They have smaller attendances, poorer academy, poorer stadium, poorer training ground and most significantly ownership/money problems galore. What makes you think Butland would be 3rd choice at Saints? At the moment we only have Davis as a senior keeper (if you ignore Forecast). I'd imagine Butland would be 2nd choice to start and relatively quickly become 1st choice with Davis becoming his cover/mentor. Especially if Saints shell out £3m+ on him and he wants to be in England contention next season.
  7. Enough to be considered good enough to be on the standby list for the senior team?
  8. Kelvin Davis has been at Saints for six years now. Isn't that long enough to know that it is "Davis" and not "Davies"?
  9. Nothing to do with doing well for England under 21's? Did that have anything to do with Dave Watson? He is also being scouted by a large number of Premier League teams? Why is that? Is that anything do with Dave Watson?
  10. Butland has been called up because he is seen potential long term competition for Joe Hart for the number 1 jersey and to give him international experience of tournament football even though he is unlikely to play. Kelvin Davis is 35 years old and there would be little point calling him up to be 3rd choice if that was the thinking behind what they wanted for a 3rd choice keeper.
  11. He has made his league debut.
  12. Dark Age Warlords, who had power over regions of the British Isles both militarily and in civil control through using a non centralised military force. Nothing to do with Skaro at all. If there hadn't been the break in the family tree in the 15th Century the video link I posted showed then it would be from these Warlords from which the modern Royal Family got their position. Is that anything to be proud of or celebrate? Flukes of birth into a dynasty achieved through oppression and brutality.
  13. I have watched it. The system is meant to work through fluke of birth linking royalty back to Dark Age Warlords. However the program highlights an illegitimate link in the chain, rendering the last 500 years of Royalty as a sham. Even if they were all legitimate, it is still a fluke of birth that they were born into a family related to those Dark Age Warlords who killed and plundered their way to power. What is there to celebrate about that?
  14. Daily Mail also running with the story... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2153416/Southampton-Birmingham-keeper-Jack-Butland.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
  15. We might well be, how many clubs can offer him regular Premier League starts and are in a financial position to match Saints' bid?
  16. I've seen you use this phrase a lot, what do you actually mean by it?
  17. Alan Nixon of the Daily Mirror thinks Saints will spend between "£20-£25m this window". He adds... "Ambition is very real. U will spend. More than most in your 'sector.' " He defines Southampton's "sector" as... "From last season's middle down. Swansea and south in the table." If true, some of you need to reassess your ambitions for the transfer window!

  19. Things like this make a mockery of the whole system... Why support any of them? They just happen to be the descendants of warlords born into their position through a fluke of birth.
  20. Is this much of a surprise? In any case it is funny to see... Footballing "giants" Crawley Town are currently at a shorter price to win League One than Portsmouth with bookmakers BetVictor and Stan James. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-one/english-league-1/winner
  21. How many Premier League footballers do you think have ever agreed to sign for a club "pay as you play deal"?
  22. He would still get paid upto the end of his contract and football contracts in England normally end on 30th June.
  23. Not according to this article published 4 hours ago... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/swansea-city/9302658/Swanseas-assertion-that-Iceland-midfielder-Gylfi-Sigurdsson-has-signed-for-the-club-wrong-says-Hoffenheim.html
  24. He needs to pass a medical before he signs anything, so the paperwork can wait until he is back in the country for the medical.
