Anybody else hear Paul Merson waxing lyrical over Southampton, and stating that if Lallanna played for anybody else the pundits would be waxing lyrical over him?

He now becomes the biggest transfer fee received by Southampton…….

Absolutely not, we are comfortably mid table, playing great football, we have a great squad of players, brilliant manager, are apparently well run. We are also in the last 16 of the FA Cup, with a winable away tie. What have Sunderland to match that, apart from Poyet and a cup final, where they are likely to be humiliated……..

This is nothing new for wham, they always seem to try to obtain players, which would otherwise be beyond their means on loans. Doing it for years, remember Tevez and Macherano. They are as bad as poopey.

Sadly, how true that is. I looked around Southampton city centre last week for the first time in about 10 years, I couldn't believe what I saw, and how depressing. All that bit around the Bargate and Jongleurs boarded up, Poundland where C&A used to be, those department stores at the top end of the street gone. I could go on. Reminded me that living in London we have been immune to the worst of the financial crisis…………...

I got a real sense of deja vu reading that. Reminds me of the Rupert Lowe era, only difference Nicola Cortese had the Liebherrs as rich backers. I seem to remember Lowe saying once he could be "transferred" to another EPL club. We so seem at Southampton to specialise in the cult of the CEO.

Seems to be something missing at cup draw time these days, we know there is not the remotest chance of drawing pompey. This because they could not possibly have made it through to the level where Southampton enter the competition.

Fulham - They seem so substandard, with a terrible attitude. Wham - I tipped them at start of season, more out of hope then. But now with all their injuries and generally lacking in quality, particularly up front they really might go (smiley thingy) Cardiff - all their off field shenanigins, can't help( though I would rather see Sunderland go) Burnley - Best managed side Leicester - Probably the best all-round team in division Derby - McClaren doing excellent job.
