I'm not sure Wotton took 'the easy way out'? His first touch and his positional play were so poor he often took the only way out! He was a player of his times, Lge one and his legs had gone, right signing, wrong player! I loved his commitment (Southend away, Watford away, JPT final etc), I enjoyed the journey, I'm sure he did too, I wonder if he still worries about us as much as we still worry about him?

A steward told me we were going to have 'greener grass' next season, and he's been right more often than some on here.

Well reminded ... this game was the re-arranged one from the death of Markus earlier in the season?

I was there, problem was we just weren't 'Saints fit' in those days; Lambert clearly wasn't fit and we were pretty pedestrian everywhere that night. Seems crazy looking back .... 1500 fans away midweek in Lge one when we were off the back of a pretty ropey start to the season.

What a season! Countless professional performances, and that's what many of them were, 'performances' rather than out-and-out thrilling games, though we still played plenty of good stuff as well. I saw about 15 games and can't remember seeing a bad one, I saw lots of good ones, lots of perfromances, and when we didn't hit the heights we usually ground out something. I only saw us lose twice all season, Palace in the Lge Cup and Middlesborough away right at the end. Best games? Ipswich away is head and shoulders above anything else, West Ham away was a 'big game', Pompey home was a great game and a great occaision (tho not a great result!), I also thought P'boro away was entertaining and a great come back by the team from the disappointment of Reading; I also enjoyed Forest away massively. Dellhurst 2 was also a very solid performance from the team, great numbers but not sure it quite hit the heights off the pitch in the way that we thought it might. I saw routine home wins against Brum and Doncaster and Palace, a very determined effort against Hull who on the day were maybe the best 'team' I saw in the league(?), an interesting and tight duel with Cardiff at home, and a slightly below par effort against Ipswich at home (how we missed Lee as an option from the bench in the run-in). Reading looked good at their place but we scrapped a tough point and I had them down for second (!) from there on in, Derby away was similar as we scrapped a decent point, Palace in the League Cup it was good to see the youngsters and the strength of our support, awesome effort; and with the bonus ball of Coventry at home to come I wasn't too deflated by the reult at the Riverside as the travelling away support again showed itself in fine numbers. A terrific season to be a Saints fan; real value-for-money stuff and so good to see a bunch of players who really do look as though they are as proud to wear the shirt as we are! COYRs!

Where do you predict we'll finish next season?

Saints to finish above Newcastle? I'll give you 5-1. -

None, HTH. -
Does that mean that 90% are doing it right or 10% are doing it wrong? I think we should be told.

New ticketing system - Validate your details

Not really, I'm surprised that you're surprised that anything online to do with SFC is Bob-a-job standard. -
I suppose anybody that pays north of 50 quid to go to see Saints lose 2-0 at Stamford Bridge next season will be able to say they saw Saints hold the European Cup finalists for 55 minutes?
-
Only question is how many they will win by .... I'm going for 4-0. We have to win, and I think we will ... 3-0!

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't? Within current parameters he could have played Bart and Martin (or Jaidi or Seaborne); can you (he?) pick a stronger starting starting line-up from those combinations? The problem with our team is that we are unstoppable one day and come up a little bit short the next ..... do you have any constructive suggestions to overcome this or is it easier to just eff and jeff and slag a couple of players every game? Today's scapegoats were Jose Fonte and Kelvin Davis .... can't wait for next week!

MLG and Turkish ... two eunuchs arguing over a condom. (If you build it, they will come)

I thought you were with the posh totty in Harrogate? Has she nodded off? (just like Jose did LOL)!
-
Didn't we do it at Everton once?
-
Built by an ex bank-robber who let his money go to his head .... never let a fan on the board (or worse still, buy the club! How much did phone boy lose at Crystal Palace?)
-
No he wasn't .. he was effing mediocre ... absolutely pedestrian where we needed urgency. I've stuck up for him a long time on here but he was poor today (one very decent long shot where we denied a corner corner aside). SDR (I'm not a fan, but he would have offered more on the right today).

Just started reading the thread now but you can eff off straight away. Here's your budget ... what's your team that can do better?
-
You think Leicester at home are more likely to avoid defeat against West Ham, than Saints are to beat Coventry at home? You don't work for Ladbrokes do you? Thought not.
-
'Captain' Chris? I wouldn't trust you with the bibs 'n' cones.
-
Are you for real? (Or have I been whooosh-ed?')
-
Get over yourselves! I've just driven a 600 mile round trip and I'm over it already! Really poor decision but it's not going to change now .... next Saturday, beat Cov and we are up, a one-game play-off final at home against the second worst team in the league. Who wouldn't have taken that pre-season?
