  1. I have 2 spares. Am currently skiing en France but will be travelling back for the P game on Saturday. You will need to collect from me either before the game Sat or at Palace on Monday. PM me on here, I'm not on the internet very much here but I will check for replies at this time tomorrow.
  2. 'Shipped via the post'? You mean: torn off the block, put with a cover slip with your name and address on it, put in an envelope, sealed down, hand written 'Pmth' on the top right hand corner, put in a box on a desk at the ticket office for you to collect at your convinience between now and kick off. Why are people persisting in asking if they will be sent out? They weren't ever going to be sent out (for whatever 'reason'), why do people think that's changed? [short answer is that the online system is a crock of cr8p; it's being binned in seven games time, hopefully with a lot of the other Spanish customs that the tkt office has become renowned for in the last couple of years]. Although fair's fair; I haven't seen this posted anywhere else but the queueing arrangements for collections for P'mouth last Saturday appeared to be very well arranged and efficient, I was there at about 2-15 and went from queueing someway back towards the away team's bus, to tkts in hand in about 5 mins. 'T' was pretty good, straight in, and I loved the (empty) window on the RH side labeled W-Z!
  3. Why would they sell? Because the owner lives in Switzerland and is reportedly not really interested in football or owning the club? Because we are probably at the position of maximising the return on the money that has been spent out? Because maybe NC has fulfilled his friend's dream, maybe he doesn't want to spend any more time in football (or in England?), and maybe he is in-line for 20% of the selling price? None of these are reasons that the club will be sold today or tomorrow but I thought it was a well-written and balanced piece and to say 'why would we sell?' is surely to put one's head in the sand. There are three big reasons why we could be sold if the price is right.
  4. Call me radical but here's an idea: you have two tills and two queues, one marked CASH and one marked CARD people get to CHOOSE which method they prefer balance the proportion of cash and card tills out according to demand other things being equal, which till would move quicker, the 'cash' one or the 'swipe card' one? personally I would be quite happy to use a swipe card especially if it was rechargeable on line.
  5. Is there a 'control system' to stop people going for a beer from 35mins onwards? Even better, reverse turnstiles which only open 5 minutes after the game has finished.
  6. Come back when Saints win a World Cup.
  7. Can't believe anybody wants Brighton to go up; nothing against their fans but they are a no-mark club with a monkey-faced manager and they play the ultimate brand of anti-football. With their unfinished ground of 20k they would be a total embarrassment in the Prem. Down, Wolves, the ultimate yo-yo club (why are people defending MM? He's had years and achieved very little -should have gone at Xmas to give them a chance of staying up). QPR - LOL at Mark Hughes, a comedy manager at a comedy club. Bolton, have taken mediocre to the nth degree, Saints without MLT. Blackburn - would luv it, just luv it, if Keane stayed up, for all the games they lost they were rarely out played (and if they stay up this yr they will be hot favourites to go down next year), Wigan, Martinez deserves to stay up but agree that Wigan have become the bed-blockers of the Prem. UP - Saints - consistently the best team in this league, we wobbled but nobody could take advantage. Reading - Noddy club but decent manager, likely to take one of next year's relegation spots. Best-of-the-rest? Don't really care! Like to say Leeds or Leicester, more likely to be West Ham or Brighton or Brum (another team to take one of those all important relegation spots).
  8. Ipswich Derby Reading Forest Palace cup Millwall cup Cov cup West Ham Played 8 Lost 1, guess I just got lucky?
  9. I have a ticket, the only place I've seen us lose is .................................. Palace away ...................... yikes.
  10. If WH beat R the maximums move to WH 93 R94 .... we would need 16 points to win, 15 to go up If R beat WH the maximums move to WH 90 R97 .... we would need 19 points to win, 12 to go up If R draw with WH the maximums move to WH 91 R95 .... we would need 17 points to win, 13 to go up Bigger 'ifs', if R beat WH and Saints beat Reading maximums move to WH 90 R94 .... we would need 16 points to win, 12 to go up (from 6 games) (All assuming the GD doesn't turn round, it's not impossible to have a 14 goal swing over 7 games but those results would also likely affect the points totals as well. I think we can safely say that it is 'unlikely' to go down to GD, but pedantically speaking we can't 'guarantee' that GD won't come into it.) In terms of going up - we could do with a draw or a Reading win, in terms of winning it we could do with WH winning! In reality it's totally in our own hands, FWIW I expect us to win on Saturday (which would be massive). A totally professional performance last Saturday and I expect NA to continue to CTC and for him and the team to close the season out just like we did last year. COYRs!
  11. Fair play to you.
  12. That average doesn't seem so bad with some games available at less than £30 (tho that does include two of the sides likely to go down). When you consider this year's away games have been generally £25-£30 it looks like you could still see half a dozen games for similar prices to this year. Looks like you could see another half dozen games for plus £5, and you are looking at perhaps plus £10-£15 for the big boys. Not so bad for a single person when you look at it like that but if you are buying for a pair of for family it certainly starts clocking up - I guess the 'main' costs for most people will remain transport costs, either public transport or a tank of fuel.
  13. Not really given it much thought. I will go when I'm available (Sept, Xmas, most midweeks, from March onwards), when I've got the funds (not usually a problem), and when I've got someone to go with (ditto). Much like now in fact; I go to watch Saints and I'm not really that bothered who the oppo are. If it fits in I'd quite like to go to: Norwich, Swansea, Man City, Liverpool, WBA is usually good, I haven't been to Craven Cottage. Not really fussed about Man U, Chelsea, Spuds, Arsenal, Villa, Blackburn, Bolton. Probably won't get as far as Newcastle or Sunderland. If there's a real choice I'd like to have Premier league home games and League One away games please.
  14. I thought Fonte was excellent today, a bit inconsistent the first half of the season but he has been to his swaggering best in the last few games - bang in form at just the right time.
  15. Bl00dy JCLs - first dibs should have gone to the 3000 who went to the League Cup game there, meaningless reserve team, mid-week away game and I bet 500 of those people won't get tkts for the main event.
  16. So has it cost nearer to £50m or nearer to 'nothing'?
  17. So how much has it 'cost' to put the club (nearly) back in the Premiership? I can remember when we stood on the brink and I said that it would take '50 million' to put us back in the Prem. I was shouted down by those that said it could be done for 'nothing' - just buy 'free' transfers (what are they?), get a decent manager (that's free isn't it?), and rebuild on a break-even basis. No arguing that we are nearly there but what has it all cost? To buy the club, to pay off the debt, to consistently recruit and pay the best players available, to have those players on performance-related long-term contracts, to have two of the best managers available, to employ the levels of off-field sports science that we do, to rebuild the training facilities and academy to Premier League standard, to maintain a Premier League stadium and so it goes on. On the income side we have been fortunate to have strong crowds paying decent prices, lots of TV appearances, good cup draws, and a cup run to a Wembley final. So, what has it cost to take Saints from tyre-kicking, monkey-petting chancers to a (hopefully) sustainable PL club? Fortunately we have accomplished it in 3 years, rather than 5, but I'd still like to think it has cost nearer to £50m than nothing.
  18. Is this right? If WH beat Reading they could reach 95, Reading would be capped on 91, we would need 16 points for second (assuming our GD stays superior). If Reading beat WH they can reach 94, WH would be capped on 92, we would need 17 points (+GD). If WH/Reading draw they can reach 93+92, we would need 17 points +GD. If Saints and WH beat Reading, Reading are capped at 88, we would need 13 points (+GD) Worse case is that 6 wins guarantees us promotion: all of the above assumes Reading and WH win all their remaining games, unlikely on current form and looking at their remaining games. We would have a reasonable chance of second with another four wins .... but who's looking at second now!
  19. Row, row, row the boat Gently down the stream Merrily, merrily, Merrily, merrily Life is but a dream. Get the f-e-c-k in there!!! COYRs!!! RAWM !!!! WIFM !!!!!
  20. Could we physically get 'lots more publicity'? The last two years barely a week seems to go by without a decent Saints feature somewhere in the broadcast or print media. Chuck in the number of times we will have been on Sky this year (did I see somebody post 9 times somewhere the other day?). We are often the lead match or have a mini-feature on the FL show. We have to wade through pages of this stuff everyday - Saints player also needs a real commitment if anybody wants to watch everything on there. There's also pages of stuff on the OS. (Forgot .... going to games as well!) I'm not sure we need 'more' media coverage? I struggle to keep up with half of it now and I quite like where we are positioned - we come over as smart, professional, well run, and actually look like a proper football club; if that means we are also under a few people's radar then that's no problem either.
