  1. Drums/a band are great as long as you're not sitting next to them
  2. Being able to watch some of the world's best players off the ball to try to pick up a few tips and tricks. Other than that, looking forward to the Championship and hopefully being a competitive side again.
  3. We finished 2016/2017 with 46 points, our 5th highest Premier League finish. Your expectations are out of touch with the reality of today's Premier League for a club like Saints. A typical fan comment but it's not the way the pros think. Did you know that in the dressing room for at least the Adkins and Pock era was a single slogan in the Saint's dressing room? "Goals win games, defense wins championships" Once again, your expectations aren't in touch with reality. You'd be better off supporting a glory club.
  4. By any measure 1 of our top 5 Premier League finishes. 46-50 points will be good enough again for 8th this season which is what Leicester are set for. Are you a recently converted Man U fan? You seem to have a sense of entitlement that normally only comes with supporters of the 'big 5'
  5. You have no proof of that. JWP like him and you can see it in the way he developed under Puel. One of the reasons they brought Puel in was his record of developing younger players.
  6. The end result of course being 8th in the league.
  7. With Leicester currently 8th in the league. Oh the irony!
  8. What are his criminal activities or convictions?
  9. Just 1pt above the relegation zone. Players like Tadic and Redmond seem very short on confidence. Defense pales in comparison to the days when we had Fonte + Somebody. Have quality players like Gabbi on the bench when at home against the likes of Stoke Not sure if the new owners have the first clue about running a football club.
  10. Not in the relegation zone. Kept a clean sheet on Saturday. Have a some quality players. We seem to play better away from home. struggling....
  11. Shearer scored a hatrick on debut so I'll take Shearer from that game
  12. Le Tissier Shearer Fonte Van Dyke …………………………..…………McCarthy…………………………….………… Cedric..............Van Dyjk..............Fonte... ..........Bertrand ……………..…………..Lamina……………..Romeo…………………………… JWP…………….…..………. LeTissier ……………..…….…..….…. Tadic ……………………………………… Shearer ………………..…………………….. We'd finish in the top half
  13. We can't even manage a fluke win against any of those teams. Chance of going down: High
  14. 46 points will get you well into the top half of the table at the end of this season? What do you expect and what do you consider successful? Automatic European qualification?
  15. Remember Gaston Ramirez and Dani Osvaldo? Both record signings as I remember Classie was just under Osvaldo's fee. Where is he? I think Billy Sharp was a record signing and Kerry Dixon. Who's to blame? For every difficult question there are 3 simple answers and they are usually all wrong!
  16. Miracles can happen, for once I find myself in at least partial agreement with Alpine. The lack of signings at this point is a bit worrying, not bothered about Theo Walcott and I haven't given up hope yet, perhaps some offers have been rejected.
  17. If we give him a 4year contract on 100k per week + 20M transfer fee. That's £41 Million on a 28year old who has never played regular first team football and a bad injury record. That's not my definition of 'afford'
  18. ITK told me Osvaldo coming on loan too!
  19. If Les can persuade Walcott to accept half the wages that he will get at Everton, he is a miracle worker. If not, people will call for his head. Saints fans who think we can afford Walcott are living in a fantasy world.
  20. It's not too late but we need a new manager and new players. IMO, things started going wrong when we lost Fonte. Our success over recent years has been rooted in our excellent defence which had remained quite unchanged compared to the rest of the team. Fonte was the leader, organiser of that defence. Since we lost Fonte and then VVD through injury/transfer drama, we can no longer keep clean sheets which leads to more defensive formations, less goals, it's a vicious circle. We need a manager who can organise the defence and a leader in there. We also need someone who can create and score goals from the midfield. The lack of goal threat from midfield is truly shocking at the moment. 2 quality signings + a new manager and we can easily stay up but I fear the owners aren't willing to pay for it.
  21. Sacking the manager at this point is not enough. They need to re-invest a lot of the VVD money to keep us up. Let's see if the new owners are willing to invest or whether they will keep the money with their fingers crossed...
  22. Until they realize he isn't all that amazing and gets injured all the time.
  23. His parents wont be happy with him crayoning the TV. We scored 2 away from home, happy days!
  24. Also, several times Newcastle cut through us like a hot knife through butter because the midfield didn't work hard enough to get back and defend. Their second goal is an example.
  25. Anything as long as we have 2 up front. The midfield was terrible today and created nothing. The long ball up to Shane Long (as we often played up Koeman) was effective. Gabbi and Long up front for me and a lot of our problems will go away. 1 up front seems to be the latest fashion but until we get a target man, it needs to go. Use the players we have correctly ffs!
