  1. for the record Mr Pate is nailed on red and white, held a season ticket at St Marys until the birth of littl'un number two. please dont tarnish him with the dirty brush used for Fred's comb-over
  2. I dont think I have a single "greatest" memory. I do remember going to the Dell, walking alongside Dad, chatting about what the afternoon would bring, and then we'd get alongside the County Ground, or the bowling club next to it, and Dad would be distracted by the activity on the other side of the wall, and for years I wished I was as tall as my Dad so I could see over the other side. The distraction didnt last long, but soon we were talking about football once again. I didnt realise then what my Dad had given up to take his oik of a son to the football. Beers in the pub and a late entrance into the ground had been replaced with a stroll down Northlands Road and getting to the turnstiles in time for opening, just so the little 'un could get down the front to see the football. Dads and lads. Pretty simple stuff really. thanks Dad.
  3. right I'm leaving now, I will amble past, see if I can get someone to interview me, in one of those "voice of the fans" kind of ways. Actually I am suited and booted, so a pair of dark shades and briefcase, should get someone running and asking me if I am the money man....
  4. I work a stones throw from St Marys and there are loads of tv cameras up there at the moment. I'm not near a tv though, so I am wondering what all the fuss is about. The media are obviously expecting something to happen...unlike the rest of us...
  5. Ok, as I understand it, the administrator's sole function is to get as much cash as possible on the table for the creditors who are owed monies today, but if the best offer was 50p, then the administrator would take an alternative approach of liquidating the whole thing and giving the proceeds, to creditors in an appropriate manner. So, we owe Aviva £24m+, we owe Barclays £4m+, plus we owe others. If I were Aviva, and I cannot have my £24m+ that is owed, then I would want to renegotiate with the prospective new owners. If I cannot negotiate to my satisfaction, then I would possibly accept considerably less than £24m, but how much less? Given that the club owes £30m and Aviva is owed 4/5ths of this, then I would be tempted to press the liquidation button. After all, sell Jacksons farm, Staplewood, St Marys, player contracts, fixtures and fittings and I would be pretty confident of getting my £24m back, or very close to it. So, is the administrator caught between the reality of nobody wanting to buy it for an inflated £30m, and the creditors not wanting to settle for less than the market value of all the saleable assets? Frankly, if I were Aviva, I would want was I was owed. Or am I missing something?
  6. Not something I normally bother with, too many grey hairs... BUT today, I'm out and proud. I don't care for the Football League rules, I don't care for our recent Chairmen, I don't care about jibes from other fans, I love this city, I chose to live here, my children are growing up here, this is my town, I'm proud of it, and everyone else can whistle. Shirt on. I want the world to know I am a Saints fan. And like trousers, I will probably cry at some point this afternoon.
  7. The football league, the football league Is upside down, is upside down The football league is upside down We should be going up with Charlton The football league is upside down
  8. Company Voluntary Arrangement (or agreement), the bit that says we will pay all our football creditors back 100%
  9. If I could go back in time, it would be to a party aged 16, when I had a certain attention from Katie D., but failed to recognise it for what it was..... you fool, you young naive, stupid fool......
  10. Simple question, assuming we finish bottom three, we will start on -10. But I thought there was an extra bonus for failing to come out of admin with a CVA, so if the plc doesnt come out with a CVA, will we start on -25? Or will the football league say that the football club and plc aren't linked this way?
  11. Perhaps have a few favourite memories? Have you ever read "My Favourite Year" ? That sort of thing.
  12. hats off to our away support this year, you all have more enthusiasm than me.
  13. we could come on here and post inane rubbish about things not relating to SFC. You perhaps wont notice much of a difference for many people.
  14. hmmm. hope springs eternal, but i havent seen that for years.....
  15. When did that happen?
  16. I wasn't there today, so I salute those who were. I watched the game on the tv in a boozer in southampton. And for those of us who watched the tele, the feeling was summarised by the footage of a young (i guess 10 year old) fan, with his head in his hands, with the look that we are doomed. for him, and his dad, i am sorry i am sorry we are down, but we'll come back eventually
  17. NO. It's not his job. The buyer's job is to watch, not the effing administrator's. his job is to secure as much cash as possible to those folks who are going to lose some money.
  18. seems to me that the reason we are in the bottom three is because the footballers that we have had all year are amongst the worst footballers in this division. Let's face it, who are you DESPERATE to keep next year in league one? not many..... if any....
  19. and there i was thinking the administrator's job was to secure an ongoing business and make sure that each creditor got the maximum return. So, where does getting involved come in? What the frig was this guy doing at a football match? bugger off and do your job
  20. to answer the question, no. These chaps are 2nd bottom by merit and no inspirational talking is likely to change that. we couldnt even beat the bottom club at home when we really needed to. us versus forest last game, could be a nervy affair, but it's likely to be a convincing 4-0 home win sorry, but we are going down coz we aint good enough at this level
  21. none. sorry. Maybe Kelvin Davis deserves it, but nobody else does. start again, me and my mates. we'll be cheap and we'll be committed. (when was the last time you saw that???)
  22. Can I be the first to say "Baldy give us a wave, baldy baldy give us a wave" or would that be juvenile?
  23. Perhaps they all know something about Tuesday's Football League meeting that we dont? Perhaps they know -10 is coming? Or perhaps they're just crap
  24. la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
