Idiot. Do you ever think before you type?

You're misleading us. This is not last year' league table it's PPG table and Forest who had played fewer games had the second highest PPG but were not 2nd in the league, they were 4th. Thus the top three at this time last year went up and the top two remained the top two. Maybe some hope then!

That interview! Talk about a Damascus moment! Why has it taken him so long to realise that we are not the best thing since sliced braed? Trouble is for too long he has believed his own hype that everything in the garden is rosy pink and emerald green and it effing well ain't! Now he's waking up to the reality that we have talked about on here for the last two months, that we more resmble and play like a relegation team than the high-flying champions he thinks we are. Hence, Adkins sounded really down and so he effing should be! His own balloon has exploded in his face big time and now he's under test as never before. Does he have what it takes to recover as fergie and wenger do or will he just become another also-ran ending up in the lower leagues? Now that he's started blaming players which he's never done before, how long will it be before he loses the dressing room? Fair do's the players must perform and deliver but the manager is responsible for the overall delivery and tactics and finding the right players and he knows he can't hide from that. saying it is one thing doing something about it is another. Right now the similarities with Poortvliet's aimless passing pansies is worrying and look what happened to them. My guess is that Mr Cortese has just put a pile of red hot coals under his chair and his feet are beginning to feel the heat - hence his unusual reaction. Looking at 4 wins from 15 any fan must be wondering if it is time for a new defensive coach, a new attacking coach and come to think of it a new effing manager? After all we do seem to have a quite exceptional squad of highly talented players who could and should be world-beaters so why can't the firts team coaches get it to work? The Exit Sign and Waiting Taxi must be getting perilously close one would imagine judging by his after match defensiveness. It would not surprise me at all that if we FAIL TO WIN ON SATURDAY, Adders could be gone on Monday of next week... Whoops! More incoming missiles! tell you waht 'though... I was there last night, frozen to the Rollocks so don't doubt my loyalty to the cause - I wanna go up!

Saints 2 - 3 Millwall - Post Match Reaction
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Well, at least I was one of the miserable few who turned out and got frozen to the effing marrow watching this load of aimless crap so have more than a right to come on here today to complain. We were effing clueless; they gave us the run-around for the whole of the first half and when we dominated later we still couldn't hit the effing target enough to win and our defence as always was AWOL when it mattered. Fonte, Guly were crap, Martin was only slightly better than crap, Richardson was all at sea, Harding was embarrassing, Hammond was only half fit and clueless on the ball, Chaplow is miles away from fitness. Only Lallana distinguished himself, the rest you can parcel up and sell to the highest bidder if we get any. Of the subs, Lambo was as always Lambo what would we do without him and Reeves was immense, what a prospect - hope he stays loyal. Barnard, headless chicken - seems to go together. Overall Adkins sounded down and so he effing should be! Now he's blaming players which he's never done before. Has he lost the dressing room? Is it time for a new defensive coach, a new attacking coach and come to think of it a new effing manager? Getting perilously close one would imagine judging by his after match defensiveness. Big question now is "Where is the recovery going to come from?" Lallana cannot do it all on his own ad OK Morgan and Corkie are probably good enough along with Lambo but what of the rest. I will conceded that southern continentals will have found last night absolutely excruciatingly miserable at -3C and falling so I do feel for Guly, Lee & Fonte in particular but this is England, this is February and **** why are they here at all if they can't cope with our miserable effing weather? -
It's good that Chappers will get some pitch time and welcome back. Only doubt now is Pardew, he's been missing for quite a few weeks now and it's beginning to show so will be good to get him back in the squad soon. Surely one of Mr Cortese's smartest moves was to send him on loan to Newcastle to get match experience but he's being wasted up there with an under-achieving PL team, so come on Nicole after your reversal on Puncheon, swallow your pride and find another olive branch. Guess who's feeling like a first class tit right now?
-
On and on it goes, played (last) 12 - points 13. How can anybody be happy with this? Saints could never survive in the PL even if they get there, which now seems increasingly doubtful. Yes, Brum are an in-form team but if we can't take on and beat the main opposition in the NPC how on earth are we supposed to compete against PL sides even Bolton & Blackburn and their boring long-ball ilk? Maybe we do have a good balanced team for mid-table in this division but we'd better get serious about team building if we really do want to be playing in a better league any time soon. I wonder what Cortese is thinking right now as his 5-year dream slips ever further out of sight. I guess if we don't make it, he'll start again with a fresh approach in the summer, after all he'll still have two years left in which to do it with Martin Jol or Roy Hodgson.... Whoa.... Incomimg missiles!
-
If we can win this league without using him that's by far the best strategy as he will go back to Spurs in the summer whatever he achieves for us here. Fully integrated and starring in our side might be the worst outcome for Saints. We should use him only when the proverbial hits the big twisted blade but it's good to have him on the bench. My guess is he won't be on the bench when Chaplow is fully straining on the leash.

Bloody Frozen, what sadistic berk invented Tuesday late-night football. I'm still shivering today. Better than expected from Saints and we did deserve the win but our lot seem to think putting the ball in the net was not part of the passing game - maybe if should stand somebody in the goal behind the line so they can pass to him. That way we get a goal and they won't know. Not so many positives from this one Adders, another 2 points dropped so that's only 12 from the last 11 league matches. H'mmh relegation form? I feel happier about Brum on Saturday now, still think it'll be incredibly difficult as Houghton has cleared out all the crappie old has-beens and got some fresh young talent playing the ball around, a bit like us. They're whacking everyone in sight at the moment so we really do have to watch out for that 5-0 thrashing that might end our season. I guess we must hope for another 1-1
-
Hope you are a woman! Not sure skinny blokes in the nuddy are PL material.
-
Looked like he did a hamstring so 6 weeks minimum.

On current form Birmingham will win this league at a canter with Cardiff in the other automatic promotion place. Leicester seem to be the most likely to go up from the play-offs as well. I had us down to lose 2-0 to Leicester on Monday and sorry but it'll be 1-2 on Tuesday, we just aren't good enough at the moment to stop the momentum of the in-form teams, oh and guess what, we play at Brum on Saturday "Oh! ****!" What we must worry about is if we lose both - and with half a team missing it is hard to see any different results - will the confidence of our lads be irrevocably damaged with only 17 games left after that for Adkins to try to rebuild morale and a good run. I'm prepared for the abuse from deniers but does anybody have a credible alternative view?
-
Oh ****! A leopard never changes its spots. Are we mad, why are we throwing him a liferaft, he will only ever be a disruptive influence? Not the sort we want in the dressing room.
-
Why do loads of people not rate De Ridder?
Charlie Wayman replied to hypochondriac's topic in The Saints
Never understood what Adkins could see in him and so it has proved, a one trick pony if ever there was one. Joins the illustrious ranks of brilliant Adkins signings Forte and N'Guessan who came and went before we even noticed they were supposed to be playing for us. Guess we won't see much more of him if Tandoori is any good - on loan to Crawley soon? -
Suggest you don't give up your day job stacking shelves in Oxfam.
-
Oh my! You are one very brave fellow, just wait for the **** to start flying now. Helmets on!
-
We got pasted by a very workmanlike side who had done their homework well. They were too fast and too strong for us and their continual use of the long ball by-passed our talented midfield and left us chasing shadows. In the first half we left far too much space between the back lines and they ran wild in there, the space we left them was criminal. There can be no excuses we were second best all night and now with 6 first team reguars sidelined we look to be up **** creek without a paddle. Well don't say we couldn't see it comimg, we bought nobody last January, nobody i the summer other than loanees and likely nobody this January either. We can't seriously believe we can sustain the challenge of taking on this whole division and the PL with a group of players essentially put together by Alan Pardew three years ago in League 1. Our squad is paper thin and most of the blokes on our bench are second rate compared with our first pick eleven. Blame who you like but the recent record of P-10, W-3, D-2, L-5, Pts-11, is appalling for a side with PL pretensions when all pundits believe you'll need to win 2 points per game to get automatic promotion. I hope Adkins & Co have not run out of ideas but it certainly looks like we've hit the buffers very hard indeed and Mr Cortese will most certainly not be very pleased with hi at the moment. The loss of Hoover is a cruel blow. Presumably we'll have to send the under 18's up to The Den on Saturday and bugger the result but even so we are going to struggle next Tuesday against Cardiff who certainly seem to be the in-form team right now
-
Well, I don't know if you guys watched the FL show last night but what a load of **** awful teams there are in the NPC this year. Not one of them play fast, open, pass and move good football and none deserve to go to the PL. Most are so **** awful they'll just come back down again anyway even if they somehow batter their way to promotion. It makes Saints look like they really are "DC" to borrow a phrase from DM. Only Birmingham and maybe Cardiff even look as 'though they know what they're doing and Allardyce is a prize arse IMO to state that "playing the (old) West Ham" way only leads to defeat so he'll always take the ugly 1-0 route. Is he not watching Saints FFS. I loved the old Hammers and would have travelled miles to see them but not Allardyce's rabble, you wouldn't get me out of bed to watch them at the local rec. All I pray for is that the team's that play ugly football to grind out 1-0 wins don't in the end grab all the top spots in what is by any standards a very poor league this year. Let's face it most PL stuff is boring crap this year with few exceptions; if only Linekar stopped bull****ting about must watch matches which in reality turn out to be mind-numbing rubbish, more people in the NPC might follow Saints, Swansea & Norwich and try to play some decent football. What gnaws away at me is that one senses instinctively that dross and scum always rise to the top of a pond.
-
I guess Cortese will be around for a while longer than Mr Puncheon.
-
If it amuses why not, meanwhile we grown ups will carry on discussing the wisdom of fitting this guy into a self-selecting midfield...
-
Makes sense
-
If he's vindaloo hot why aren't Spurs using him all the time? What if he really is the cat's knackers and fits in well with Lallana, Schneiderlin and Cork and we have a ball-playing midfield unequalled even in the PL? After all they are all very young lads and can grow together. Suppose with this formidable line-up Up we Go! For sure Adders won't want to break up that line up will he, in the first season up there... send this guy back to Spurs, you must be kidding... It all looks like a very good deal and a very bad deal at the same time. It puzzles me even as a cynic. Certainly Harry ain't doing this for our benefit that's for effing sure! So waht's the real deal here? Does old flabby chops have an eye on one of our lads and has been offered first refusal or a swap next year? Starting with L or S?
-
It's asking a lot these days for people to travel up to Reebok for a Yuff game. Saints should run some free coaches for these games if they want support. People would go but where's the money supposed to come from?
-
Are you watching Arsene Wenger watching? I'll bet two tonnes of horse **** to a plate of mushrooms that he was sniffing about up there.
-
This is a must win game after our poor form over the last 8 and probably our last chance to stay top. Can't see any sort of result myself with a disrupted and partially demoralised team, so I'm down at William Hill's for a 3-0 defeat. "What we don't want to do now is allow our concentration to lapse and let in three silly goals". There Dave, it's been scripted for you already. Oh ****, Leicester next week!
-
I've never heard of him and honest enough to say so.
