What you need to ask yourselves is how many other PL clubs were courting Mr Jones. If the answer is 'none' then we are most likely up the Swanee and a paddle or two ain't gonna help us. If there's gold in them thar hills you won't be prospecting alone! I will be intrigued 'though to see his starting XI when it all kicks off again. Hope there will be a few surprise inclusions and surprise exclusions. My guess is that he may rather like Lyanco for example. No sign of Ruben Selles in recent pics, does he fit at all with Jonesey's mates? ⌗pilchards ITK?

The only question that concerns Gareth Southgate's future as England manager comes from an assessment of the further potential of the squad under his tutelage. Is it a work still in progress or has the process peaked? If we set aside a slight uptick in our performances in this World Cup, you'd have to say that results between the Euros and the WC have been generally disappointing suggesting that the process has indeed peaked. If so, it can be argued that rather than endure more of the same for the next two years it is time for a change now. Wasn't this the basis of the argument that led to Ralph's exit from here?

Least of all you.

Or more likely they are all equally thick as bricks.

Time for Les Miserables to build some barriers in front of their goal. Vive. l'Angleterre.

Setting goals, targets etc. Give me strength this is the Premier League.

Not bizarre at all. Being a (Saints) fan is not a choice, it is part of your life. Once indoctrinated by guileless parents when you were too young to know the difference, there was never any other choice in the matter. Standing outside looking in it can all seem to be highly irrational but viewed from within we accept what it is and try to make the best of it. The thrill and expectation of a Saturday afternoon walking up to the Dell or St Mary's never dulls come rain or shine, glory or humiliation. The illusion is built on hope and I wouldn't swap that for anything.

Being burgled at any time is traumatic for the families involved irrespective of where they were at the time. It rocks the whole foundation of people's sense of peaceful co-existence and wellbeing. Never under-estimate the impact it has on others. The fact that in this case the victims were a well known person and his family has no bearing on the distress that will have been caused whatsoever.

What on earth are you on about or more to the point what on earth are you on?

Ref conned by Richarlson. At least PL refs have him sussed out. Horrible player. Really disappointed in South Korea, why bother turning up if they're not going to make a game of it. School boy errors all over the pitch. Turned off at 25 mins, sickened by the sycophantic bullish*t from the commentators.

I give up what's the answer?

He wouldn't survive long or score many goals in the Premier League which is probably why he has never played here.

"A mountain to climb" when 1-0 down !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The new language of football is total bullish*t from beginning to end. They're all at it.

We used to shop in John Lewis not Primark

Getting past France as you put it will be nigh on impossible for a Southgate side.

Sadly he's the sort of has/never been that we always seem to end up with these days. I hope it is a lazy journalist link perhaps because he has south coast links and they know we need a striker. What we don't want now or ever is another striker who is more or less permanently on strike.

Not by me 'though, loved the guy and had his shirt! Always advocated that he should have been kept here forever in some role or other. Superb and highly principled leader and a grade A decent bloke.

Sorry Maya but you are far too old for our club profile so we can't offer you a new contract but good luck for any future you might have... Sorry Oriol but you are far too old for our club profile so we can't offer you a new contract but good luck for any future you might have... Glad we have such great people in charge of team recruitment….

Of course the commentators were waxing lyrical all evening about the sublime skills of Lionel Messi but as far as I could see, he was only trotting about slowly a few metres at a time mostly playing very safe 3' passes to nearby colleagues and hardly ever moving more than 10 yards from a fixed position about 25 yards out right of centre. Oh! and that penalty miss. Why can't these people bow out gracefully when they are at the top rather than hang on and on and on when clearly their best days have become distant memories. There are none so blind as those that do not want to see.

Indeed and why not one in Antartica in six brand new stadia fully heated to 30 degrees Celsius at all times. Penguins have been lobbying for this for years. Could be held at the same time as COP36.

Serendipity at its best and first class click bait!

Thanks for that, just made an arse of myself. Jones seems like a miserable git! Surely he could manage a smile if only for the thought of the pile of dosh he is racking up

Remarkably little information coming out of Staplewood since Jones arrived. What' s going on down there? Even if they had a couple of weeks off as it was alleged surely some training is going on that is worth a picture or comment or two? Freezing out fans at a time when they need us to get behind them more than ever is not going to help at all
