Lots of Humble Pie on menus today up and down the country. The forum’s favourite whipping boys Djenepo, Diallo & Lyanco seem to know what they’re doing after all. Apparently that waste of space Mara can play a bit as well. -
Quite. No longer a question of who was that Charlie Wayman bloke, who was Mick Channon?

Yet the French have this annoying habit of winning the odd World Cup?
-
Don’t forget the Maya Yoshida link. Expect one or two from Japan’s World Cup side to come on board.

Bloody hell! How big do you think England is? He can commute from Manchester and see the family at weekends. It's not as if he will last very long.
-
That's ruled us out on two counts then.

Ah! but is he fit to wear the shirt and do you want to see him in a Saints shirt again? -
About bloody time!

Utter garbage

Grannies they may be but they made the effort to go up there and stand in the pouring rain to support our team. They are stars!

Whoops there goes another rubber tree plant.

Extraordinary claims being made by @Pilchards & @St Louis, are they really insiders or indeed are they club employees? I wouldn't get your hopes up too high lads, nobody up top has the guts to admit they were wrong about Jones so chances of him being sacked as many would like are close to zero. Bookies odds suggest nothing is imminent.

Keep getting the digs in my friend despite the fact that he has been our outstanding player of late.

The task is hopeless now. No amount of wishful thinking will see us survive this debacle and nor should we, we are collectively terrible. There are many on here who will never see Saints in the Premier League again. This is what is left of the carcas after death by a thousand cuts, enjoy it before it rots completely.

Have you talked to a psychologist recently? It might be a good idea, they can intervene often before it's too late.

Effing brilliant!

Bournemouth and WHU are equally bad. There's your three for the drop.
-
Blimey, seeing as though we're on only 12 pts at the moment where on earth are you expecting your other 16 to come from?

Saints fans seem to like having a baldy in midfield.

So when the rest of us are nicely settled and our food and drinks are nicely balanced on our knees, along comes you at the last minute to get us all up again, pasties landing upside dow on the bloke in front's head and coffee all down our trousers and our day's ruined but you think that's OK. Get a bit of empathy for the rest of us mate.

The only problem with that is that one wise owl or another on here has said exactly the same about every single player in our line-up bar KWP. None of them apparently "fit to wear the shirt" and "should be nowhere near the first team" and "never want to see them in a Saints shirt again" Maybe you know the answer to this conundrum cos sure as eggs it's got me stumped.

The feature of our play that stood out and worried me most was our singular lack of ability to hold onto the ball as individuals and to make controlled precision passes to team mates only a few yards away. Everything yesterday was rushed and decidedly panicky, hurried at breakneck speed as if the ball was a grenade about to explode in a pass the parcel game. Inevitably precision went out the window and moves never got a chance to get going before the opposition were at our throats again. Only KWP seems to have remembered how to do this and even he is a shadow of his former self of 12 months ago. Nobody seems to want the ball anymore or have the ability to hang onto it to allow team mates to find good positions. Unsurprisingly our possession statistics were pathetic. We used to be so much better at this short fast but highly controlled inter-passing game that often got us out of trouble in defence and helped build attacks. Above all we could dominate play through possession and frequently put teams under the cosh for long periods. Let's face it owning the ball is the key to winning matches yet we seem to have totally lost our understanding of how to do this or the necessary skills to stamp our authority on games. You certainly don't see the likes of Man City or Arsenal rushing about like headless chickens missing passes at the speed of light. Time Mr Jones to give the players a ball each every morning and develop their ball skills. Making them run around for a couple of hours with it would also help them get to know what they are looking for on match days.

Too many people were hoodwinked into believing that the intelligence and bonhomie evident at press conferences was confirmation of the bloke being a good manager. Bull$ht has always baffled brains and always will.

Maya Yoshida is coming back, guest of honour in the Box on Boxing Day. Surely you didn't think he was there by accident?
