Semmens said recently (podcast) that contract renewals are now a top priority after the fiascos of losing Bertrand, Ings & Vestergaard and that several negotiations are on-going. I would expect Ralph to be keen to keep Mohammed Elyonoussi at St Mary's. This suggests to me that his agent has been busy dropping less than subtle hints for a pay rise and contract extension for a player who has found himself back in favour at Britannia Road. The Arsenal link is obviously ridiculous. They are most likely to be the next PL club to change managers long before Mohammed could leave on a free.

Not only is JWP ponderous on the ball but when he is playing there seems to be a team instruction to always feed the ball to him, a tactic that virtually ensures that nearly every attack is brought to a halt while JWP works out which is the safest next pass to make, usually sideways or backwards. Meanwhile oppo's defenders have taken up position in their trenches. He is a very slow thinker. What was revealing yesterday was without these constraints our midfield play was much more fluid and inventive and often caught their defenders well out of position. One obvious benefit was how much more effective Redmond became by not always having to run at a brick wall. Luckily Ralph has form when it come to not changing a winning team so if we can do a repeat of yesterday on Burnley & Watford the chances are we can have a month without Ward Prowse to see how that goes.

Really good performance all round. Salisu clearly MotM. Redmond had one of his better games. Only a curmudgeon would find anything to complain about today. Armstrong showed glimpses of what we have missed. Worryingly for JWP we seemed to be more fluid in midfield, more linked up with the front runners and generally more cohesive without him. He should have to play for his place when his suspension ends and not be automatically shoe-horned in. Romeu is an equally good captain and Redmonds corners were arguably better than JWP's. Elyonoussi is gradually cementing his place in the side, he is a clever player and his little touches and runs are winning over fans who were previously critics. I was surprised that KWP didn't get on at 70 mins as Tino tired and showed signs of being stretched. As far as Broja is concerned, we must hope that he settles here and his parent club will let him stay for a couple of years.

It will be a bittersweet end to Ralph's time here if there is even a modicum of truth in these Chinese whispers. He is a decent and likeable chap, has his own ideas of how the game should be played and has had fair success elsewhere with his methods. Surely he must be as frustrated as hell that he has to work with a squad that just cannot meet his demands and expectations. It's probably a case of the right man for the club but at the wrong time; the way things are going financially any improvement in his or our fortunes seems extremely unlikely. If he has to leave we will miss his honesty, integrity and unfailing good humour. Mr Howe is not the answer to any of the questions facing our club right now. He is at best a bottler. My absence from the terraces this season was precipitated by a personal dispute with the Club. Mr Howe's arrival would be on a par with re-appointing Mark Hughes and confirm the end of my time at St Mary's. If the Club are ready to throw in the towel there is no better way to do it but I have no wish to be a witness to an execution.

There are no goals in our team at the moment unless Elyonoussi can step up, apart from him where will a goal come from? With our penchant for at least one defensive cock-up per game, a clean sheet seems unlikely especially against a fast attacking Leeds side. So nowt for us and 0-2 seems to be the right call. I'm calling you out as your random reference to Nigel Adkins is totally unfair. During his brief but wonderful tenure as our manager, Nigel provided fans with some of the best memories we have ever had in our history. I for one will never forget him or his infectious optimism. “This is the best of me. For the rest, I ate and drank, and slept, loved and hated, like another; my life was as the vapour and is not; but this I saw and knew; this, if anything of mine, is worth your memory.”

I am always suspicious of people who talk a lot and quickly, gloss over facts as they gallop along and are endlessly reassuring. Their strategy of course is to head off embarrassing questions; lets face it there were quite a lot of points of conjecture in this monologue that were missed by not intervening and asking challenging questions at the time. According to this gospel of St Semmens everything is going to plan and is either under control or controls are being put in place to ensure the future outcomes are those that are desired. I am not buying it. Things are not at all rosy and as far as one can tell not going to plan. Effective action to address problems is hampered by complacency and an inability to grasp nettles, classic senior management weaknesses. Horseman's situation is a case in point and arguably accountability for poor first team performances is long overdue. Not all change is good but no change is certainly not good.

Seriously, the club should buy this land for future use. For now they could relocate the Fans Zone with a cafe next to the landscaped river bank. This is an opportunity for future development that should not be lost.

What an odd and bigoted thing to say without qualification or detailed assessment. As you rarely visit the place then clearly your knowledge of modern Southampton is close to zero thus rendering you remarkably unqualified to pass an opinion. Southampton is a modern, industrial city that has received a huge amount of investment and development over the last 20 years and from many different perspectives is now the equal of most cities in the UK and certainly of the majority of similar size. It is indisputably the UK's premier passenger port and a destination for most of the World's cruise ship fleets. It is particularly attractive to young upwardly mobile professionals that are bringing a new life and dynamism to many parts of the City that were once frowned upon by the economically less empathetic. What it is not is an historical relic petrified in time and reliant on tourism for its very existence even though it has its fair share of historical attractions. It has a vibrant river, an appealing waterside and close views and proximity to one of the UK's foremost National Parks.

Hear! Hear! Not only a fabulous player but a great clubman and all round decent bloke. Remember also when he ran his greengrocery shop in Shirley High Street and could often be found standing around outside "shooting the breeze" with locals as they walked by. Watching Terry run the right wing beating player after player before crossing pinpoint on to Ron's head will remain in my memory forever! There really was only 'One Terry Paine'.

JWP was OK but too many safe and sideways passes and as a result England lacked penetration. Better in second half presumably after a bollocking at HT. Not sure he showed enough, safe pair of hands but uninspitrational.
