Anything can happen but can't see it myself. He can't even get the DHS budget through congress and they've had a partial shutdown for 46 days now. His approval levels are through the floor, conducting an unpopular war that hasn't resulted in the kind of bounce he was hoping for and the public are getting antsy about rising oil prices. Within that context it would be unlikely he would get the go ahead to leave NATO. Best and probably most likely scenario is his bones tell him he's won and he declares victory (shouldn't be hard considering he hasn't stated what the US objectives actually are). Once they clear off the world maybe starts getting back to something a bit more normal.

Someone should give him a prize for "Dumbest President Ever". Stupid fuck would still put it on the mantlepiece.

Companies who cold call you and then ask you to confirm your details.

I agree. Anyway, I'm not sure Starmer could get involved even if he wanted to. The legality is questionable at best, it's not clear what the reason for the attacks against Iran are, or what the objectives are. If parliament did it's job then any PM would struggle to get approval from the HoC under those circumstances.

Criticised him? You were an hysterical old tart about the whole thing.

Same, looks like a soap opera for blokes.

Yeah, I got an invite but you can join a waitlist here: https://join.amazonpreview.com/

I’m on the amazon preview club thing and watched the film about 6 weeks ago. Thankfully they paid me a tenner for it cos, honestly, it was a bit shit. I enjoyed the previous series but the film was terribly cliche ridden, plot was all over the place and it felt a bit cheap. All subjective but I wasn’t impressed.

I don't know it's so much about rules and more about what will actually work. If foreign countries and politicians start commenting on or attempting to interfere in domestic US issues then all that will happen is that the electorate you're trying to persuade to your point of view will entrench themselves more than they otherwise would have done. I don't disagree with you on the behaviour of Trump, Musk etc but generally speaking I think their actions are self defeating - the reaction from the public in the countries they criticise tends to be against them rather than for them. Best thing the West can do is ignore them where possible and carve out relationships and arrangements without an increasingly unreliable US. Since Carneys speech everyone seems to have woken up to the idea that you don't have to tiptoe around Trump anymore and appease him, just saying no (like Zammo should have done) is probably enough - let Trump do the rest of the damage to himself.
-
I don't really have any problem with the sentiment but foreign powers meddling in US domestic affairs isn't going to get the reaction you want. In fact you'll get the opposite.

That's fair enough, promise not to do it again. Reminded me of another thing that annoys me - abbreviations of McDonalds such as Macky Ds. Fairly sure there was an advert listing all the different names which just compounds the annoyance. Right up there with "Cheeky Nandos" if you ask me.

He did try and subvert the result of a democratic election with no evidence of corruption or fraud whatsoever, and still denies he lost to this day. It was only the strength of institutions and Pence that stopped him. Is he the worst dictator ever? Clearly not but it's a very low bar and not a statement that anyone has actually made (as far as I'm aware). It would probably make a good slogan for him when campaigning though, "Vote Trump - Not as bad as Hitler".

Looks like the only country in the Americas with a higher debt to GDP ratio than the US is Venezuela and, according to Trump himself, he's de facto president of both countries. Should probably get a prize or something for an achievement like that. source: https://tradingeconomics.com/country-list/government-debt-to-gdp?continent=america

What’s your unpopular opinion on Saints?
revolution saint replied to Willo of Whiteley's topic in The Saints
You're right of course although the real question is statistically which method of taking a pen is the most successful? This article is an interesting read: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c3edp0yl57xo and surprisingly it appears as if going down the middle is the way to go. Whether that would change if more people did it is debateable. Personally I'd rather have someone like MLT or Lambert just smack the ball in one of the corners as hard as possible but according to that article that might not be the best option. Seem to recall Beattie thumping them into the top corners a few times - get them on target and I doubt many would get saved. -

Not really specific to Saints but managers don't have as much of an impact as people like to think. Sure, there's some really really good ones and some absolutely terrible ones but generally most managers in the medium to long term don't make too much of a difference and the quality of the playing squad is more of a determining factor. -

Artists you should (apparently) like but don't

6 Music have just played a song called "The man who seeks pleasure" by Madra Salach. I've no idea who they are but it has to be one of the most droning, dull, god awful pieces of crap I've heard in a very long time. It's even worse than anything Kae Tempest has released which is a very very low bar. -
Saints 1-1 Charlton - Match Thread

Frustrating result but have to give some credit to Charlton. They obviously came for a point and were pretty sound defensively. -
whom you could also remove under a democratic system, unlike a king or queen who ended up similar to Trump.

I’m thinking of going on holiday abroad. Main criteria is a current monarchy, any recommendations?

That was just an illustration of the absurdity of the hereditary principle. Andy being a wrong un hasn't affected my opinion of the monarchy in the slightest
