He’s a cunt

Yeah, I was at Chelmsford and Pulp were the absolute highlight despite the fact I only knew their chart stuff. Was really impressed with them as a live band although the pedant in me will point out that it was V96 rather than V97. Sad news though, RIP.

What players will you miss, should they leave, when we go down?

Moi and Orsic. The rest can fuck off. -
Players take the rap for me. They can produce against Chelsea twice and Man City but not against anyone else despite having had three managers. Blame lies with them and there's no more excuses - they got the guy they wanted and still fail to beat a league fucking 2 team. TBH once we go down I'm not sure I'm really that bothered whether any of them stay or not although I will say Djenepo is exempted from the criticism - he was about the only one who looked like he gave a shit.
-
Yeah, it's hard to make a compelling case for any of the candidates. Ideally it would be Orsic and when he signed I had hopes we were getting a similar player to prime S. Armstrong but a bit quicker and clearly that's not happened. Whenever we get a break and the ball goes to Elynoussi my heart sinks - just know that the majority of the time he'll give the ball away or make the wrong decision.

It's difficult and goes to show that we've got a bloated squad but still lacking in quality in certain areas. Hard to make a compelling case for anyone being an obvious standout replacement. I'd hoped that Orsic would be the one but he's not been good when he's played. After that it's probably Djenepo or Edozie although they're not quite the same type of player. Djenepo can do a job defensively if needed and can sometimes beat a player, provide an assist or score a goal. Edozie needs to work on his end product and tracking back. I guess Alcaraz but defensively he needs to shape up as well. Personally I'd be prepared to give Djenepo a try - thought he did well in the Spurs game at the start of the season and against Man City in the cup.

It was my Uncle Derek's birthday yesterday and having the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine on the same day was a helpful memory jog. So from a purely selfish point of view yesterday was actually quite handy but other than that I think, like many others, that the war has been a bit shit. On a similar note I've got a friend who has her birthday on 9/11 and that's been a real lifesaver - never used to remember her birthday before the twin towers crashed down. Does anyone else know anyone with birthdays on major disasters or wars?

FUCK OFF

Can we have a poll on how old he is? I’m going for 27 cos I don’t think that’s been taken yet.
-
Agree with everyone, sad news. I always felt that he was like Murray Walker - probably not the best commentator but more than made up for it with his enthusiasm and excitement. He enhanced the game whereas someone like Barry Davies always seemed a bit too negative in comparison. RIP

I've amended your message to better reflect the world we live in today. You're welcome. -
Absolutely, this is going to be my good luck ritual. Besides which, and completely unforeseen by me, they’re being rehabilitated before my very eyes and by the end of the season no one will be raising an eyebrow at the selection.

1st game never counts.

Leeds 0 Saints 9 Team picks itself: Bazunu Bree Yanny B Lyanco AMN Walcott Diallo Moi Djenepo A Armstrong Aribo I'd also pack the bench with kids so that we can give them valuable experience once we're 4 or 5 up.

My biggest doubt is I don't like the idea of a chant for Selles based on Achy Breaky Heart.

One of the beauties of winning is that I recorded MOTD and have just rewatched it. If the incident was the one that led to the Perraud clearance then it was ABK that climbs over Havertz and misses. -

OK, I'll be honest with you. A lot of thought went into putting that shit team together and the last thing I need is someone taking it seriously. -

Having seen the presser in full now, I’m impressed. Selles seems a good guy, with great teeth and a winning smile. It’s often said that a good presser acts as a launchpad for the actual game and although I haven’t seen the Graham Potter press conference I feel pretty confident that we’ve won it. I’d go so far as to say we’ve smashed it. The thing that really stood out for me was the Spanish accent, it’s more authentic and you really get the impression he knows what he’s talking about in a different language. Seems like exciting times are on their way. -

Chelsea 0 Saints 9 Team picks itself: Bazunu Bree Bednarek Lyanco AMN Diallo Moi Walcott Djenepo Aribo A. Armstrong Was going to go with 5 at the back but I think this is the kind of game where we need to go for it.
