  1. Yes I can see the similarities to Schneiderlin, however Schneiderlin made his position clear in pre-season. Wanyama has waited until the last 2 weeks of the window and In my opinion has contributed to our exit in Europe and the poor start to the season.
  2. How naive I am to say Mane was happy. I guess St Charlie and The9 know their stuff more than Silly naive me.
  3. So today we have balance in the team. Romeu is holding, with JWP and Davis playing more advanced. Tadic and Mane playing behind Pelle. We need to remember it is Norwich, but it's encouraging. My biggest frustration is that the runs are being made, but because of confidence the pass doesn't come. A good example was Tadic not passing to Targett when he overlapped on the inside.
  4. We are playing 1-4-3-2-1 system. The system is good. Just not sure we have the players.
  5. H Saint Charlie You are obviously a well informed person and I notice your use of the word probably. My son wants to play for Manchester United, he wants to play in Champions League, every players wants to aspire to the very top in their profession. Are they happen at Southampton. Yes very happy both of them, although very frustrated with the teams start to the season. Don't jump onto Media speculation, just like everyone else. You are also part of the problem, because you allow shi t to stick. Get your head out of the sand and don't regurgitate speculation. It doesn't help the team you love.
  6. We were tactically second best last night. Lesser player playing together to make a better team. We lack cohesion. We lack balance, shape. We also haven't answered the question 'what happens when Wanyama is injured or unwell?'
  7. Morgan Schneiderlin was probably the best player ever to play for Southampton. Now that's an argument.
  8. I think the same was said about Fonte and look how far he has come. VVD needs to be tested every week in order to develop. You can't expect Andy Murray to be good against Federer if he playing every week against average players. You have to be playing with the best to be the best!
  9. Really good post
  10. Last season Koeman played a system that best fitted our players. Morgan and Wanyama as defensive holding midfielders. He is an advocate of playing 3 at the back.
  11. And as we see Professor The9 has replied. You really need to be in football. So much technical understanding. I learn so much from you.
  12. So 28 posts and not one that answers the thread question. Looking forward to the input of The9 and St Charlie as they are the experts. Koeman loves to play with 3 centre backs and fast wing backs. This is why we have bought Cedric. Problem is that Cedric needs time to adapt. For those of you who don't use a goalkeeper we have predominantly used a 4-2-3-1 system offensively. Koeman is working towards a 3-4-2-1 or a 3-3-3-1 offensively. The key to the system are the wing backs. Defensively we try and achieve a 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-2-1 depending on the speed of the break. At the end of the day it's getting numbers organized behind the ball to cut out the killer pass and defend space. To achieve compactness. I await the critical eye of our experts who could teach the most qualified trainers to achieve the next level. The stage is free.
  13. Another who doesn't play with a goalkeeper.
  14. I think Koeman has in mind a 1-3-4-2-1 system using Fonte, Caulker and VVD and wing backs. The9 I await your reply. By the way my team played a 1-4-3-2-1 Christmas tree system with fast conditioned full backs and won 7-0 in the Toto Cup. But I don't know what I'm doing. LOL
  15. Saint Charlie believe what you read. I'll keep hearing it from the horses mouth.
  16. If you want to know what's really going on at Southampton, then speak to Les Reed or Victor Wanyama or even Sadio Mane or his agent. This club has done exactly what we have all expected. Clyne and Schneiderlin didn't want to be here and whilst Toby really wanted to stay I think the thought of living in London for a young man was to exciting not to except. VVD will arrive next week and we have invested very wisely in young talent. Now we need patience for the squad to grow together. I am a qualified, full time football trainer working in Austria. Learning my trade after playing football for 40 years. This a great club, with a great owner.
  17. Wanyama is very happy at Southampton.
  18. The9 it seems nobody else needs a goalkeeper in there system. Football is played with 11 not 10. Qualified FA coaches are being urged to include keepers in their systems. I fully endorse this thinking and I'm sorry if it makes me clueless in your eyes.
  19. The system we are using is 1-4-2-3-1. To make this work effectively the wide players must be fast. Fast in the attack and fast to be able to get back behind the ball And support the full backs. Tadic lacks the defensive element. Mane struggle left side going forward and Jay-Rod isn't up to speed. We are not up to the standards we set. There is work to be done, but we will get there. Romeu will be class as will Caulker.
  20. I know his Agent please relax people Mane going nowhere. Don't forget he was linked with Bayern Munich and that was made up nonsense.
  21. Clasie has a long way to go to achieve the condition required to play in the Premier League. Not saying he won't achieve, but there is no quick fix to achieve condition. Look at Ramirez
  22. I just couldn't write something like this whatever I felt about the post or posters
  23. I keep telling you, but nobody seems to listen. Wait and let Mr Reed do his job.
  24. No game is easy in the Premier league
