Have a look here, its a good summary: http://www.statto.com/football/teams/southampton/2011-2012 5th double of the season. Potentially another 5 more...

Whereabouts are you in Switzerland? Most larger cities have English or Irish bars that will show the footy. Though most will probably be showing the rugby on Saturday evening. If you're any where near Basel, you could try Paddy Reilly's - they showed it last time. http://www.paddys.ch/basel/index.php?page=1015

That could have been me - how are you doing mate?

I wouldn't bet against YB scoring at White Hart Lane as well. They create a lot of chances, and won away at Fenerbahce in the last round. Cracking 1st half anyway..

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.
Zurichsaint replied to camdijk's topic in Golden Posts
Thanks from me too Markus. Without you, I doubt we would still have a club to support. That means we owe you everything. Its just tragic that your time with Saints was cut so short, but at least you were able to see Saints lift a trophy once in your time here. Hopefully the club will keep the condolences book open for a while - I hope to get over to sign it too. RIP Markus - and make sure you glance down and keep an eye on us once in a while! -
I'll be going on Saturday for sure. I used to live in Fribourg about 8 years ago. There's an Irish pub quite close to the train station, behind a big new shopping centre, that used to be ok - quite a few ex-pats there. But I admit I've not been since I moved away. http://www.paddys.ch/fribourg/index.php?page=1021

I won't make it for the game tomorrow, but I'll be there for sure in Fribourg. Hope the weather is ok - there's quite a bit of rain about.

http://www.fcsochaux.fr/en/index.php?lng=en Saints are to play FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, a top flight French team, on 17th July. Time and place not yet determined, but its after Sochaux have finished their training camp near the Swiss border. I wonder when our club were planning on telling us?

Quite right too - that's what my post should have said

ok, here goes: As Saint Si said, to enter today's date in cell A2, just type =TODAY in that cell. For age, if DOB is in cell D3, the formula would be =ROUNDDOWN((A2-D3)/365;0) It won't be perfect (because of leap years), but its the simplest. For next review date, suggest you use the one mentioned in one of the older posts: Assuming last review is in cell E4: =DATE(YEAR(E4)+1;MONTH(E4);DAY(E4)) For the formatting, like it says in the previous posts, it depends on the version of excel. You can do it through Conditional Formatting / Highlight Cell Rules / A date occuring in Excel 2007, or in the older version Format / conditional formatting. Check what excel you've got first then we can answer that one. Good luck!

By that logic, surely you should be allowed to vote in the elections of the country you pay tax in? But that isn't possible, unless you have dual citizenship. I can't agree you should give up all democratic rights just when you move country. I'll be voting, but its a complete waste of time as I'm registered in New Forest West, and that seat is a foregone conclusion anyway...

I asked yesterday when i picked up my oldham tickets and i think they said there were 8k left, 9k for oldham game.

I'm coming over from Switzerland! Would be nice to get a lift with Markus, but I'm not sure what time he's leaving. That makes 2 of us, at least, I guess.

According to David Conn in the Guardian, they were fully repaid: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2010/feb/10/portsmouth-cardiff-hmrc-winding-up Fair play to ML if this is true.

Depends on which country you are in! You of all people should know that - Geneva Saint!

Great, thanks for your help guys. I'll have a try with Kompozer, but if I need more, or can get someone else to pay, I'll have a try with dreamweaver. Cheers again!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but here goes anyway. I've done some basic website design (for my mother-in-law!), using a cheapo programme called Incomedia WebSite Express. I've now got the request to build a more sophisticated one, and get paid for it. I want to get myself a better programme, but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the options available, so wondered if anyone can recommend anything? I just need more flexibility than I can get from the Incomedia one. I don't have any IT background, but I know some visual basic programming. I basically want some WYSIWIG software, that I can teach myself to use. Also something reasonably priced! Anyone got any suggestions?

OK, never mind - just saw it in other thread. ta! :smt053

What Swiss press are you reading all this in mate? I have found a Blick article, and a couple of lines in 20 minuten, but everything else I've seen just shows the same quotes as the OS. I'd be happy to see a link. Cheers.

Bookies odds on next Southampton manager
Zurichsaint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
That's actually not a bad shout. He's just been fired as manager of Basel, so has no club at the moment. Most in Switzerland would consider him as one of the best managers here of the last 10 years (4 championships and 4 cups in that time), though he did have the biggest budget. Personally, I'd still rather have WGS; but I don't think it will happen until we're back in the top flight. -
They've already been involved with Football club sponsorship before. As far as I can see, from 1997 Liebherr were the sponsors of Grazer AK, who won the Austrian League title in 2004. The story had an even worse ending that ours, as the club went into Administration during 06/07 season, and were docked 28 points. The following season they were relegated to the regional leagues and just managed to secure financial survival in September 08. The sponsorship with Liebherr ended in 2007 - so some of this may be familiar to them... Note that although they may have had the funds, as main sponsors they clearly didn't rescue the club from EUR 15m of debt, so I would ease off on the '6th richest club' statements... Although as owners, it may be a different approach!
-
And just to add to the connection, Liebherr seem to have a history of football sponsorship. Formerly they sponsored "Liebherr GAK" to their first ever Austrian league title in 2004. Their sponsorship ended in 2007. http://www.liebherr.com/lh/113159_56177.asp and http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebherr_GAK for the German article links... I can't believe I beat you to that one Alps! This would be fantastic for the club if it is true and successful.

I can't imagine it being Bertarelli. He's got the cash, and the interest in sport, but he's currently involved in organising the Swiss defense of the America's Cup. This is a) very expensive, and b) involving a lot of time and effort, as he's fighting the American's in court, as well as on the water. Since the defense is due to take place next year, I don't see that he would want the distraction of buying a football club as well.
-
Not sure about the last 2 facts being relevant, but it is interesting that Sauber was Switzerland's only ever formula one team, so there is a tenuous red bull - Switzerland connection there! That said, I really can't see it being them... More likely some investment team looking for a way to make a profit by getting us back to the premier league. If anyone does know how it is, then let me know, and I'll try to do some digging on them from over here!
