  1. The keepers would be better than Bazunu though!
  2. Last season's transfers were like glue factory rejects — they run like they’re lame, and still got put down by Christmas. Our recent striker purchases were like buying a racehorse from a car boot sale — you’re never quite sure if it’s going to run, walk, or just eat all your money! Hopefully this transfer window will see some of lame put out to pasture. I hope there is some news soon on the next thoroughbred to gallop us back to glory. Lets hope a stable transfer policy is not led by donkeys and we don't continue to lead a horse to water, pay it fifty grand a week, and still watch it drown the club’s hopes. Anyway, I hope we can stop horsing around in this thread because the lack of signings is leaving us with long faces. Without quality signings we are flogging a dead horse.
  3. We've really not been at the races this transfer window
  4. Any stable rumours?
  5. As long as that is where he spends most of the season wearing that shirt, it's all good.
  6. 8 records from this season I know of, 4 of them we don't even have to share with any other side!
  7. Thanks Anders - added to the list!
  8. While we passed the worst prem team of all time record at the weekend, there are still some records we can achieve. Losing at home to Arsenal would secure fewest home points in a season record outright, and we would also equal the record for most home defeats in a season and fewest home wins in a season.
  9. Home goal difference is currently -33. The record worst H GD in a season is -38. We have two games to make the record our own and not share it with anyone else!
  10. 4 games left to go and some records are now within touching distance. I don't think we will manage the worst goal difference in a season though - we'd have to have -15 goals in 4 games to beat that.
  11. First unwanted record officially achieved!
  12. Has it ever been done where an entire team has been sold/released at the end of a season, and a completely new squad starts the next season? We seem to have a losing/don't care mentality in every player that we currently have, and if we bring in a few new players they seem great for a couple of games and then their form nosedives. Maybe the solution to changing the culture is a completely clean slate. Has it ever been done? Could it work? I would imagine it would take a while to settle and learn to play with new team mates, but it can't be as bad as our current lack of cohesion?
  13. I can't believe I got this far through a thread without the mention of Steve De Ridder! edit: Dammit, someone beat me to it after all
  14. Ormorod was the first name I thought of, but also have to give a mention to Gordon Hobson
  15. Plymouth Reserves would beat us too.
  16. After the last game : RECORD CONFIRMED: Relegated with the most remaining games left (7) Most defeats in a season: 30 Biggest margin between a relegated team and survival: 26 Fewest home points in a season: 6 JOINT RECORD CONFIRMED: Lowest 'top scorer': 4 (Paul Onuachu 4) Most away defeats in a season: 15 Most home defeats in a season: 15 Fewest home wins in a season: 1 CLOSE BUT NOT QUITE S*** ENOUGH: Fewest points in a season: 11 (12) Worst home goal difference in a season: −38 (-34)
  17. Do they even need to play a goalkeeper?
  18. Maybe we should have gone for that one handed Belgian after all - probably would have spent less time in the treatment room.

  20. A win? What's one of those?

The best representation of Russball I have ever seen. Hats off to you sir! One day, this will be in all football coaching manuals

Too many links between 5, 7, 8 and 4. What is completely lacking in this diagram is the bulk of the passes between 2 and 3, occasionally involving 5 and 4. You've also missed the one way passes from 9, 10 and 11 to 1.
  23. Now THAT is what possession based football should look like! And how we can dream of the days of the Wallaces on the wing crossing the ball into a striker in the middle.
  24. It's clearly not that super - it reckons we will score 36 goals!
  25. Branfoot was absolutely hated. You could feel the hatred and anger in the crowd at every match. Martin gets none of that. Generally I think he is a decent bloke who is doing his best. Unfortunately that best is woefully inadequate for the Prem, and you can tell in his body language he is waiting to be put out of his misery.
