Packed to the rafters, crowd over 32000. Actual crowd was 30850, there were plenty of empty seats, and of course Vitesse did not sell out their area. "Sadly, Liebherr passed away in 2010 and hasn’t been around for much of their rise" - what a very odd thing to write, of course he has not been around much, at least not in body. Otherwise nice piece.

Wrong, Costa makes 5. Scored 20 in the PL and 1 in the Cup. The two previous seasons there were 10, many years there have been at least 7 or 8, 2004/5 only Henry and Andy Johnson.

I was on the 530 ferry actually. Usually travel from Wiltshire but visiting home this week.

CONFIRMED - Steven Caulker - DONE DEAL (loan)

Quite clear from the OS article that he knows he is behind Jose and Yoshi initially. Clearly backup to Jose to cover for Gardos' injury. Very decent backup IMHO. We will certainly be getting a left side CB as well either to partner Jose or as bavkup to Yoshida. -
Where did Mullet get rosta from? How does a commune in Italy relate to anything here?
-
Does it really matter? Never had you down as an mlg clone ;-) The whole point is that use of roster or rota is just not right when talking about British football teams. The correct term is Squad. Doesn't bother me much if Redslo carries on using Americanisms but if he were to use the appropriate term, i.e. squad, he wouldn'grate with some of the fussy fsnnies.
-
Not that it matters, but they are not different things. [h=1]Synonyms of rota in English:[/h][h=3]noun[/h]Britishroster, list, schedule, register, timetable, calendar My point anyway was to emphasise that we do not use either in this country for football (soccer) related matters, because the term squad is used not only in English but in all of the official UEFA regulations. Why Redslo continues to use the term roster is beyond me, though technically there is nothing wrong with it.

Surprised that Caulker made the EL squad (pleasantly) yet Sam is still included.
-
We had been in the PL for a while when he said it. Sadly what Les says does not always stack up with reality.
-
Les Reed stated very clearly a year or so ago that we were not interested in sending young players out on loan. It was much better for them to stay at the club and learn. Shortly afterwards Stephens went to Swindon.
-
Surprised? The media at these press conferences are so seemingly unable to ask anything remotely interesting, it would be a major shock if they asked something like this.

Presumably not eligible for EL 3 Qualifying Rd, so would have Stephens and/or Turnbull on bench for these. Is he eligible for Play-off round? I know the squad list gets resubmitted for the group stages. Also gives us an extra association trained player when he does become eligible. Good signing on loan obviously to cover for Gardos being out most of season, covers anything that might happen to Jose, still need left sided CB to replace Toby, presumably this will be VVD. -

Reminiscent of Sparky in his prime. Maybe thats what Hughes sees, reliving his youth.

Is it really a spectacular fall? He is getting towards the end of his career, 32 this year, looking to continue playing regularly more like. Was always better than Fox, as shown at Forest. Michael Poke is also joining Eastleigh on loan. Looks like the Spitfires are looking to push on from last season to get into the FL. Good luck to them. -
Steven Davis will start, 99% certain. I would suggest instead of Juanmi or Clasie. Otherwise the team almost picks itself as above.

7, of which 3 can be used, same as PL.

Duncan could probably help, there is at least one picture (of the changing rooms) in one of his books and another on the Wiki page. My Great Granddad was briefly the landlord of the Antelope Hotel (1889) which was the opposite side of St Mary's Road to the ground (presumably why the ground was called that). Not sure if there is a picture of the Hotel anywhere. 1889 was the year St Mary's started to use the Antelope Ground on a regular basis.
-
You'd have to include the Antelope as well...

Loaning him to Feyenoord might be better, at least he would get some competitive games, unlike the SPL.
