No we don't. The way things are going it is beginning to look a distinct possibility. Man U prefer Bastian Schweinsteiger, and are unwilling to pay the asking price until at least they know what is happening there. Arsenal have lost interest, because they no longer need him. No-one else has even been mentioned apart from Spuds, and Morgan is only going for CL football. People need to get used to the the idea that our best player may actually be staying, and that is the best thing that can happen. Now, expect to see the transfer wrapped up before the end of the day:)

Sadly the usual suspects come crawling out of the woodwork and blather on about how everything is perfect, and the Board are perfect and know exactly what they are doing and that we need to know our place. This type of drivel is just as bad as the other.

I don't believe any other club that finished 7th last season in the PL gave so many debuts and used so many academy players. However, ignoring that, the idea that we still have the same philosophy with regards Academy players as we did even 2 years ago are deluded. We have become in one year just about the least English and we have also become a club that has no academy graduates as regulars in our first team. Last year only JWP was even close to being a regular. There is very little sign that this will change in the coming season, Ronald does not appear to trust academy players in the first team, possibly because there really aren't any real stars coming through, possibly with the exception of Harry Reed.

I don't believe that will happen. In my opinion they will not move on Morgan until the Schweinsteiger issue is resolved. Bastian is their first choice and he is still apparently considering a move (last week it sounded like he was not moving). If they do get BS they will not go for Morgan. Then unless Arsenal come in he will probably not be going anywhere. In my view there is a still a decent chance that he will not leave this summer, which would be great.

I think we do actually. Kelvin is not up to it, and really neither is Gazza. We most definitely need another keeper. Forster may well be out nearly all season. Relying on KD and Gazza as backup again is just plain daft. Sorry, misread your post earlier, thought it said playing, not paying :-) Thought it was an odd thing to say.

I know its pre-season, but honestly Kelvin looks slower than a slow thing on a slow day. Someone said somewhere he's our Steven Gerrard, perhaps we can send him to MLS for his retirement as well.

You have an opinion and that's fine, I think your opinion is a very narrow one and that you are ignoring other real possibilities that can occur in the real world. I don't have a defined view of what might happen in the future, I know there is a broad range of possibilities that might unfold, and what will be will be. If I had to guess at what might happen in this crazy football world, I would think that the probability of you being right is about 80%.

or he'll stay longer, sign extended contract and do what a player is supposed to do under contract. Getting a fee for him is not the only possible outcome, and is not necessarily the best outcome for Saints. Some people seem to lose sight of this and think we have to sell everyone eventually. I don't recall getting much of a fee for Le Tiss. Best option for Saints is he stays, he is our best player and is the best DM in the PL. If he leaves for a massive fee now, then so be it, but it has to be for the amount we value him at.

Mugabi injured as well as Bertrand so with Clyne gone and Targett not back in pre-season until next week, and only 3 contracted first team CBs the need to pull in some cover is paramount with so many games coming up in the next few weeks. I'm sure Martina will be a good squad player, if the Koemans (Koemen?) think he will be.

I thought they were travelling on Wednesday. Kick-off is not until 7pm local time. Unless United or anyone else comes in with an offer that meets our expectations (27m?) then Morgan will be staying with us, which is the best option. Morgan leaving is not a slam dunk like some on here and in the media seem to think.
