We signed a 2012 Champions League winner. KK is on the banner because he is part of the Saints folk lore, he may not have stayed long, but this is how players become legends. I think Jose is a top player, but really he isn't and never will be one of the outstanding legends of this club, unless he leads us to a CL Final or something. Still irritates me that Big Ron is not on the banner.

Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?
VectisSaint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Of course, I looked it up in a dictionary -
They don't. If you had read the original link you would have noticed it referred to Bologna's return to Serie A, the whole reason for the speculation in the first place.

Also known as All Saints Eve. "Hallow" = Saint or holy person. Can we be sure Hallowe'en is on 31 October this year? -

There's something odd about us having been away first game now for 4 seasons running. Its not supposed to be pot luck, they always were supposed to even it up, can only think we have requested an away game for one or more of those seasons (not necessarily this one). That said the fixtures are decent, don't have any problem with the first fixture, just odd. I wonder exactly how many of our home games will get changed to Sunday or Monday, not that I care any more since I will be retired after this week. -

Doesn't inspire, guess this is the Toby fall back option.

If you assume its a random selection. Its not, it is supposed to work out to be fair over a 2 season cycle. It is odd already to have been away first three times. -
Nice bit about MLT talking up Morgan to United.

Kevin Davis as well. We should also remember Phil Boyer and Charlie George gained only 1 cap, and at present Jay Rod. I hate to mention him but our very own CB Fry is also singular in terms of caps. Not Saints related but the brilliantly named Segar Bastard gained his only cap in 1880 against Scotland. I remember the game well, chanting his name, apparently later he became a referee, hence the origin of the expression, "the referees a jolly nice chap". http://www.englandstats.com/players.php?pid=85

Wouldn't that be 4 seasons running that our first game is away? Man City, WBA and Liverpool. Surely we are due a home start at some point. If not I think we should check whether Blatter is involved.

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
VectisSaint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Burnley must be getting quite busy dealing with Trippier, Spurs, Villa, Liverpool and Bournemouth at least also "in discussions" apparently. I'm sure there are more. -
Oh dear, fast becoming the 2015 "has Skacel signed yet" retort.
-
Has to be said that if that is the best that England can muster these days, it demonstrates how poor we currently are. Agree that Clyne and Bertrand would make it look better, but it really does show that we probably currently have the worst group of players in history.

On target tonight for Senegal.

You are clearly more than a little prejudiced. One of the "he left us so now he's rubbish" brigade. He clearly was not rubbish and kept Clyne out of the side on merit, different type of player, but there were times when he was certainly better and no amount of hindsight should change that view. I also don't recall Poch losing the plot, more false memory syndrome. I don't disagree that he runs like a girl, but then so does Raheem Sterling.
-
Think FIFA are supposed to do things like that as well, chances of the FA blazer brigade turning up something off their own back is approaching zero.

Difficult to imagine it.wasn't us. Who else would make a complaint? Another agent, Inland revenue, Sepp Blatter? Unlikely.
