  1. More to the point, Viktor Johansson has let in more than Bazunu this season in the Championship.
  2. And the worst in the Championship, the Rotherham keeper, Johansson, who people on here have been touting as a good replacement. You implied that there were a lot of goals going in recently, which is demonstrably untrue. Yes there were a lot in the first few games, but since Leicester, more than one (2) has been conceded once, 5 goals conceded in 5 games. Strangely this coincides with the defence being more settled and using proper CBs (Bednarek/THB). I'm not defending Bazunu particularly, he is not showing signs of being a top class keeper, but some of the hysteria on here and elsewhere is hugely misplaced, especially of late. Conceding a goal a game is not a disaster, and wouldn't be a problem if our forwards could score regularly, scoring just once against the worst keeper in the league (by goals conceded) was ridiculous.
  3. 2 in our last 3 games, blurring into one 🤔
  4. Fraser and Charles as well.
  5. He was reportedly back in training before he joined us, indeed Sunderland had a friendly lined up for him to play in the week following our match against them, so it is a bit of a surprise that it has taken so long for him to be ready, RM had previously said after the break, so this is no real news, if anything it sounds like his return has slipped a bit.
  6. The Alcaraz one doesn't make any sense. Surely his first priority is to his employers, not Argentina. Of course no one wants to hurt his chance of joining up with his national side, but you can't hold a player back from a League game simply to give him a better chance for his national call up. Would imagine Downes, Kamaldeen and Fraser are the most likely to be rested, given they have only recently come back from illness/injury/long lay off (though Fraser hasn't been a starter of course). Personally would prefer Charles to start over Downes anyway.
  7. Not sure Gaston flew economy, whether he goes cattle class or something else is not really the issue. But sure things may have improved, we'll see, just hope Charley doesn't end up with a dead leg.
  8. Remember Gaston Ramirez and the problems caused by his flights home to South America. Good for him, but not necessarily good for Saints.
  9. But Alcaraz s a tennis player, isn't he? His problem now is that he will become the new Gaston Ramirez, flying back to South America for every international break and not being ready to play when he gets back Rotation is not needed when an international break immediately follows a third match. It would make even less sense nowadays with 5 subs per game, attacking players seldom play 90 minutes in any game these days.
  10. To be fair he made 2 or 3 bad clearances/passes (assume the one you refer to was where he sliced his clearance which put us in serious trouble). Still doesn't dominate enough at corners, but generally he was very good. He did only have 2 saves to make though, which was not really testing, still you can only play against what is in front of you.
  11. I would imagine there might be more than one, given the rate of change over the last few years.
  12. Mustn't forget Danny Fox for Scotland 🤔
  13. I note that Tella is not exactly ripping up the Bundesliga (yet). Is he injured?
  14. Currently 6-0. Unfortunately a mate's nipper in goal for Reading.
  15. At this moment I'd take equality on Saturday, though a win would be better.
  16. True, I forgot Jones was fluent in Spanish, I thought it was just Welsh and bollocks that were his 'fluencies' .
  17. I seem to recall reading when he joined that this would be more of the focus, but can't find the article now.
  18. Georgson joined beginning of August, should have fixed everything by now, Georgson out.
  19. We make it 6 away at Stoke.
  20. Wasn't that long ago we put 8 past Sunderland (9 years). Hard to imagine this nowadays.
  21. I think people are missing the point, he can't "trust" him because his head is not in the right place at the moment. The "news about his Dad" is possibly the most telling point. The language thing is interesting though, maybe he was depending on Willy and Lyanco to get him through (Lyanco was Portuguese speaker of course, but Portuguese/Spanish is relatively close), though it must be said Larios is also a Spanish speaker, but maybe not fully integrated into the group still. To be honest in the times he has made it on the pitch this season he has shown nothing to warrant a start, so maybe now we know why. Wonder what happened to his Dad? Its novel to get to hear this stuff, none of our last few managers would have let news like this out.
  22. But they also need to stop making stupid, suicidal mistakes. 2 massive individual mistakes today by 2 different players and 2 goals. Hardly any goals we have conceded so far this season have been down to good play by opponents (note I did not see the Norwich game). Good finishing yes, but virtually none from good build up.
  23. I would suggest that the number of assists from corners has more to do with the quality of teammates in the box rather than the management/coaching. There are a lot of stats that show JWP to be better now, this isn't the best example.
  24. RM seems to be sticking to "after the next international break" line in the Presser this morning, so possibly Hull away on 21st. Sounds like he is training with the main group. Jack Stephens though doesn't seem so hopeful, certainly not in the same timeframe as Stewart, which is what Martin originally suggested (he would miss about 7 games), more inline with what Wilcox said pre Sunderland, i.e. around Christmas. Martin acknowledged Jack was a huge loss, as he is the only one (his words) with a voice.
  25. I don't think it does. I'm not convinced yet by Kamaldeen or even Alcaraz, they have flattered to deceive. Also don't see Downes as a shoe-in from his performances so far (and will he be fit anyway). Armstrong (S) to me should be a starter. Don't think this will happen but it may be that Manning could play MF (he has done a lot in the past, it wouldn't be playing him out of position) and getting Larios in at LB.
