  1. I was thinking yesterday, why are our sold out games these days so far short of our record attendance at St Mary's, 32,363? Even further short of capacity, 32,689. I know we've lost a few seats to camera positions etc, but 700+ seems a lot. Where else have we lost so many seats since the days in Championship when the record was set?
  2. Steve Bruce or Nigel Pearson more likely.
  3. As I was saying. Was a foregone conclusion anyway.
  4. Brenda is finally waking up to the fact that Liverpool are better without Lovren and old man Gerrard.
  5. Yoshida went off because he was exhausted, Koeman confirmed this post match, and coupled with fact he was on yellow as well.
  6. To answer my own question, twice in Championship and four times in League One. Guess the Sky commentator is forgetting that professional careers exist outside the PL.
  7. Sky said it was first time he has scored twice (been on a hat-trick) in his professional career. Is that true? How anyone thinks his finish for the 3rd was easy is beyond belief.
  8. Were there any Chelsea/Saints half and half scarves yesterday? I could not find one for my growing collection. I am still trying to find the rare one that will be the main prize of my collection, a half and half Saints/Pompey scarf. Find it odd that there is little demand for these.
  9. Cock on a stick, with phone at the other end.
  10. Has been outstanding this season, but was not great against Chelsea and had a poor game against Palace. I think the problem against Chelsea as has been suggested is that he was back playing on the right side protecting Yoshida, a role he also played sometimes under Poch. He has been so much better this season under Koeman's guidance, and really has been the engine in our side which we sorely miss when he is not available. Comparing his contribution unfavourably with Prowsey is down to the usual nonsense of only looking at assist statistics. Sadly assists are only given to the player who played the ball immediately before the goal was scored, whereas Davis so often makes the goals with his runs and then they take a couple of touches. Prowsey will be good in the future, but first he needs to learn to challenge and/or tackle, also he needs to improve his speed in clearing out from defence, and finally he needs to avoid making horrendous back passes like he did yesterday which would have cost us the game if Chelsea player (Fabregas?) had not slipped over.
  11. To save you making a fool of yourself by not understanding rules regarding suspensions in the future here is a useful link that helps to avoid embarrassment: http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/suspensions
  12. No, he was top class last season as well, even made Lovren look good. Many times he got Lovren out of a hole. I would suggest Clyne is the most improved, really doubted he was better than Chambers last season, but now under Ronald's guidance he has blossomed into one of the top full/wing backs.
  13. The one thing that is competely clear is that Targett's foot did move, he planted it and then lost his footing, his foot clearly moves. Ref did not give pen because it was not deliberate and not dangerous (can't believe some of the ****tish posts on here about other reasons for not giving it, really do think some people ought to try reading the Laws of the game). Fab then goes to ground making a meal of what happened. Whether the ref booked him for simulation (understandable) or for his reaction is not entirely clear, but to have given a pen would have been extremely harsh on Targett who did not put a foot wrong during the match. It was also poetic justice for all of the ridiculous decisions by the referee in the first half after John Terry had a little word after Pelle brushed him feather-like early on. Terry really is a grade one arsehole.
  14. So if I read the report correctly he has been advised to avoid the Premier League for the good of his career, and has been advised that Southampton may be the best destination to deliver his undoubted potential. So he either has multiple advisors giving him conflicting advice or Saints are planning to switch to the Bundesliga or La Liga or Serie A next season.

    Yoshida

Odd really given he is same height as Jose and Toby, 6'2".

    Yoshida

He was clearly subbed because he was exhausted, knackered, ****ged whatever. He was out on his feet. Not surprising for the shift he put in for a CB
  17. Think its a one game suspension, not half a season. Why do people continue to ignore Ronald's unequivocal statements.
  18. I could put it another way, we are fourth We should play our strongest team against Ipswich, end of. Certainly no need to rest Morgan as he will be having a rest until then anyway.

    Yoshida

Nope, you were definitely at a different game to me and it seems everyone else. Did a terrific job in an unfamiliar position until he succombed to being ****ged out after probably running more in one game than he normally does in 2 or 3. Partly at fault for the goal admittedly, but he actully offered a lot more attacking than I expected and was defensively pretty sound for someone who clearly prefers playing left side (I was not happy when I found out he was playing RB because his previous display there was woeful but today he was very professional and deserves a lot of credit for playing where he was asked).
  20. Interesting that someone has voted for Clyne (not me). Bit unfair on Yoshida to leave him out of the MotM poll. He was completely ****ged when he was subbed, its one thing being a CB but trying to do the RB role these days is a whole different experience - thought he put in a very good effort until the fitness issue told, though he was partly at fault for the goal. Thought that was a great result today, but till came away disappointed that we probably could have won if we had not switched off just before HT. Referee was a complete berk today, Jose moaning there is a conspiracy takes the biscuit when they were playing with 12 men in the first half. Evened up the cock-ups a bit in the 2nd. Have to disagree with those saying Morgan had to take the 2nd yellow for the team, sorry but he really didn't. He may have thought he did but we had adequate cover. Still we played well against Everton without him, and think if we go 3-5-2 again we can cope without him again (play McCarthy at RWB). Mane great first half, not sure he was still on the pitch 2nd half. Tadic was awful after the first 20 minutes or so. Pelle was frustrated that the imbecile ref took a dislike to him and penalised him every time he breathed. He is poor sometimes at holding the ball up, today was one of those days. Davis was good, but he has been off the boil a bit for the last couple of games. Back 4 were tremendous, Target was great but he does need to learn to deliver the ball accurately after doing the defending bit so well, its a matter of experience, otherwise he looks a great prospect. Victor was excellent again, thank goodness Kenya are not very good. Forster was reasonably solid, though he still managed a ball juggling wobbly in the 2nd half, but really not too much to do again. JWP is an enigma, he really does not bring much to the team at the moment apart from set pieces, he seems unable or unwilling to tackle, and is very slow to get out of the pen area to clear his lines - he will be very good, but just not convinced by him right now. Also thought Fabregas dived, or at least went down rather easily, never had any concerns it was a penalty, despite what the **** Jose M thinks.
  21. Just about to leave from frosty Wiltshire, hoping for a win today but realistically would take a draw.
  22. Even funnier is the Man City guy who sees dipping into the market for JRod given the current Man City striker crisis would be a good move. I guess some people don't get out much.
  23. Looks like Dutch car park. The second car has yellow front plates, not UK.
  24. Surprised no-one here picked up on this report when it was published about three weeks ago. It seems the only link for Southampton according to BBC "pundits", even they are not stupid enough to link Morgan with a transfer out given that its clearly a done deal that he will stay until at least the end of the season.
  25. West Brom, Irvine has already said he fears for his job, sounds like he's a gonner.
