EFL has jurisdiction over Clubs. FA have jurisdiction over individuals. Without seeing the exact detail of the charges I have said all along the FA are probably more interested in the allegations of 'bullying' or coercion which came out in the EFL investigation, because it relates to their principles of openness and fairness. I don't agree with that but then my point of view is not taken into account by the blazer brigade. I also have the view that Eckart took the rap for the whole affair to 'protect' others, both below and above him, which is why Dragon has gone overboard to back him. The buck shouldn't and does not stop at Eckert, Spors even Dragon must have known what was going on and if they didn't they bloody well should have done. What about Tonda's assistant? Other coaching/scouting staff. Anyway guess we will get a better view in the next few days, one way or another.

You're probably right, but seems a bit random for a Blackburn fan to be touting Stewart. No smoke without fire and all that.

Admittedly that argument is getting a little weak, given that Sugawara is already back (does anyone know if other Scottish players have returned from their break yet?). I reckon if nothing is heard by Monday then he is looking elsewhere.

That's because it's a myth. I posted stats on here somewhere that showed he started the vast majority of the games he was available for last season (he missed 15? due to injury). He's more than good enough for us, as is Jander. The Club are holding out for at least £30m but we'd be better off keeping him and it appears he isn't pushing to leave.

I wonder if the FA take "previous" into account when "sentencing". Tonda was handed a touchline ban and fine by the FA for his part in a melee during Barnsley's match against Stoke in 2021. Three match ban and £2750 fine. Not sure this makes him an habitual criminal, but it could influence their decision.

You don't do this when you acknowledge the charge. Its a formality, the FA issue a charge and the Club/Tonda acknowledge receipt. Tonda has up to Tuesday to respond, that is the time and place to admit or not the charge and to make mitigations etc. It would be rank stupidity to kick up a fuss now. The loss to the club is not a matter for the FA, that is a matter for the EFL, and you need to be aware that the EFL, like most other sporting organisations have clauses in their "membership" along the lines of "you accept the punishment handed out and have no right of appeal".

They haven't accepted anything. They have merely acknowledged receipt of the charges.

Except it says Tonda has until next Tuesday to respond, a rather important point. It means it's likely that nothing more will happen until Tuesday (unless Tonda responds earlier). So we can speculate all we like for the next 6 days. When he does respond this will go to a disciplinary hearing which will hear his mitigation, so could drag on for a while yet.

His contract expired, so yes I guess you can say it was short. There was an option to extend, but it wasn't activated (in time). Would be interesting to know when other Scotland players who went to US are due back at their various clubs. I'm guessing at least another week. Whatever it is we won't see Stewart before then.

He didn't use his legal team to get out of anything. The option had expired, and Saints actually told him (apparently) that they had messed up. As any good agent would have done he advised Stewart he had no legal contract. Then Stewart was off to the WC. Clear that Saints were playing a game with Stewart of wait and see (what League we would be in) which would piss anyone off. Clear that TE is still hopeful that he might be back, and given Stewart would still be on holiday after the WC I don't think we should assume yet that he won't be back.

Very sad news. Fundamental part of probably the greatest team Saints ever had (76 was great but we were in the 2nd division). Keegan along with Bally and Williams, Channon (in his twilight years), Golac, Watson, Nick Holmes, Dave Armstrong, Chris Nicholl, wow we were exciting to watch. RIP KK.

Stewart's agents weren't the bad guys, the Club fucked up and demonstrated that their thoughts on Stewart were different if we got promoted, they showed no faith in him for the PL. Hope Will is better than Olly 😉

Well I never. Exactly as I suggested with Ross. Of course we need another striker, anyone who thinks Cyle Larin (who I really like) would play 46 games needs to give their head a wobble. I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if he does 30. Made worse of course by not having a full preseason.
