Overlooked again. **** it

I remember the game but I think Lambert actually signed a few days later because I think he scored in his first 3 games including a cup game.

Southampton forward 'would love' Bale to make St Mary's return | Daily Echo Notice how Theo is quoted as saying "I'd love him there" as opposed to "here"

If Carillo had got a quarter of the chances that the youth team players who clearly aren't good enough get, he'd have probably done a bit more. Personally, I thought that although he was clearly out of his depth, he wasn't AS bad as everyone made him out to be. His hold up play and link up play at times looked average (considering he was portrayed as far worse than average)

I assume they were different occasions because I'm sure Euell didn't play for us in League One? Yes, Wright was awful but he knew it. A friend of mine went up to him and though I can't remember the exact wording he said Wright used, the jist of it was that he knew damn well that he was stealing a living and was shocked he was signed permanently after initially signing on some short term deal or a loan or something.

JWP likely to start? Trying to plan my evening; If he's not playing, I'm not bothering with it

Fixed it for you

A good amount of those played more than 10 games. But it's not a bad sh1t XI. If I remember rightly, Euell actually did okay when he was played up front.

Anyone want to make a team of really poor and thankfully forgotten Saints players who played less than 10 games? Kevin Miller in goal, strike force of Peter Madsen and Nicholas Bignall. Lucean Mettomo in defence and Marcelo Seremento in midfield. Anymore?

We've played Swansea the last three years I think. Mind you I guess Covid and therefore travel restrictions probably played a part in that.
-
Never heard of him but he looks like the lovechild of Frank Skinner and Iain Dowie.

I agree with the second part. Not the first. He's had PLENTY of runs in the team and been utter garbage. He usually does quite well when he comes back for the first game or two and then reverts to type.

At least Stephens has the advantage of being able to ping a half decent pass out from the pack. That's about it though. The pair of them are completely inept. But you also have to consider that Stephens is an up and coming young talent and still one for the future 😉

Yes, yes and yes IMO. Bednarek is possibly the worst CB in the league also IMO.
-
I'd take Jones. Does not deserve the stick he gets. He may not be world class but he's brave, puts his body on the line and takes responsibility. I appreciate that, in itself isn't a reason to sign him, he's not a terrible footballer at all.

A lot of players on that list are upgrades on what we have tbf. Just some of them aren't so much of an upgrade that it's worth shipping them in, getting them settled, shipping someone else out only to have to repeat the process next year. Shane Duffy is an upgrade on what we have but I wouldn't suggest signing him.

Yeah but I don't think they're realistic. Even if Ox only played half the games of the season, he's worth it IMO. Vastly superior player to Walcott ever was but there wouldn't be that romantic, sentimental thing that we had with Walcott. It just feels different. Theo stayed on very good terms with the club, talked us up at every opportunity whilst he was away and seems to genuinely care about Saints (as he also does with Arsenal and to a lesser extent Everton, I think he's just a very nice guy) and this has a great affect on the academy players which several of them have spoken about, whereas Ox not so much. Not saying he hates Saints but he seems to have left us behind a long time ago and not really maintained much contact with the club. Not that that's an issue, like I said, he's a great player and I couldn't really care less whether he loves us or not

I'd take Barkley tbf

I don't get this whole "LOLZ WHERE'S THE NEAREST GOLF COURSE TO THIS CLUB THAT BALE'S SIGNING FOR?!?!" stuff. Is he not allowed to have hobbies and interests away from football? Even if he does value it more than football so what? A lot of people prefer their hobbies to their jobs.

Ralph looks like Alex Ferguson compared to Southgate

Looks similar to JWP which must mean..................😉

If we sign Bale, I'll post a video of myself in a dress singing "I'm a little piggy" like Cartman in South Park before donating £10 each to the chosen charities of the first 10 people that react to this post. Not a lot of money I know but I'm skint and times are hard! T&C's do apply; It has to be THE Gareth Bale, not just some other person called Bale. The one who played for us before. It has to be THIS transfer window It has to be as a player and not a golf teacher or something I reserve the right to back out if we sign him and he picks up a season long injury or something.

Didn't it get reported when the new owner took over that he loves golf and organises various charity golf events...?

Oh he did better than that. Here's an account of Eddie Howe's career that the media want you to believe... He took over Bournemouth when they were bottom of the 9th tier, won promotion each year until they got to The Championship, spent a year there to be nice, came up to the PL, finished 6th in their first season and won the league the next year, then they won the double, then the quadruple and became the dominant force in world football on a budget of frozen peas and safety pins. There's a nasty source that claims he went to Burnley but that's just something they put in the water to cause hallucinations, that never happened. After 15 glorious years, Howe left Bournemouth at the end of his contract having not tasted defeat for four years and all with homegrown players. He then went to Newcastle who were bottom of the league on -20 points. Howe came in and immediately changed everything without spending a single penny. He got them to 4th place where they finished this season. He's since developed the cure for cancer as well as solved world hunger.

Son to Liverpool I saw earlier, as a Mane replacement.
