  1. We've certainly had some downs (Sheff Wed away) when it comes to Kelvin but we've had some ups as well (Leeds away). The loyalty he showed us by turning down West Ham within minutes of hearing about our takeover (despite having completed his medical) will never be forgotten. A Saint for life IMO! All the best, Super Kelv!
  2. Longer than five years. Since returning to the PL, we haven't had a good keeper.
  3. Just a thought but for the opposition player who's scored most at St Mary's, I'm still sticking to my original two but just as an outside bet...Louis Saha? I seem to remember he scored against us a fair bit.
  4. I can't remember us beating them. Didn't we draw 0-0 with them in League One (Kelvin saving a penalty) and then in The Championship I thought they beat us 3-0 with Lambert getting sent off and then in the away fixture we beat them 3-0 with Lambert scoring 2 pens?
  5. Funnily enough, I did think Bolton!

  7. 1) Man United? 2) Assuming cup games are taken into account, I'll say Luton. If it's just League games then Pompey must be one. 3) Brentford? 4) Man United and Chelsea? 5) Brighton? 6) Norwich/Crystal Palace? 7) Must have been in 2008/09 when we took until April to win a home game. 8 ) Son and Gerruid? 9) Crystal Palace? 10) Jos Hooevield and Jan Begnerak, Danny Higginbotham (though I'm amazed it's that low)
  8. Problem is... If we try and get him our fans will whinge about us going after a player we have no chance of getting and make out that it distracted us from more realistic targets. If we don't try, it'll be "We have no ambition, the worst he can say is no!"
  9. I remember last time he was linked, the consensus was that his dad was uber keen for him to come back to Saints. Which really angered them down the road.
  10. Yes. He also didn't mention the catering either. They must be serving crap food.
  11. I think you'll find it is. Rule one of being a football fan...EVERYTHING is the manager's fault and I'm talking right down to public transport that you're taking to get to games being late. Rule two is that everyone hates your chosen team. Referees, governing bodies, the media etc.
  12. My mate was saying the other day we should go for this fellow!
  13. I'm dreading this. I'm honestly scared that it could be double figures.
  14. Tbf even then Everton, Leeds and Burnley would all have to pick up maximum points from their remaining games.
  15. Fair enough, I was ignorant to most of that. I stand corrected.
  16. I disagree. Personally I thought he's outstanding wherever he plays and does a great job on the right. I just feel like with his skill set and confidence, that "inside wing back" role suits him better because he can use his skill and pace to go in and out, drag his marker one way or another, bring an overlapper into the game and really scare the opposition. When he's on the right, he doesn't have much to do apart from run up and down in a straight line which is wasted on him IMO. I'd rather have Tino on the right, KWP on the left.
  17. KWP is better on the left than right IMO
  18. Why? Because he wants to play football? Would you rather he said "I'm delighted with playing youth football. Hopefully I won't make the first team for 2-3 years yet. Maybe even 4 if I'm lucky"
  19. Not really sure he was treated THAT badly. We saw someone better for the job. Nigel is a lovely bloke and so is Ralph but you can't keep people just because they're likable or we'd just give Dave Merrington the job back.
  20. I didn't know he'd done that well at Swansea tbf but yeah great job at Forest. I'd just need to see a bit more from him before I went all out to sign him to us. I'd rather see how he gets on next season. Obviously that opens up for someone else to grab him but...Such is life.
  21. Don't really get the hype with Cooper. Done brilliantly at Forest of course but I don't remember anything special being done at Swansea under him? If we're just going to appoint managers based on six great Championship months, why not save a few quid and appoint Paul Jewell, Malky McKay or Owen Coyle?
  22. He's had his time and failed a few times in the lower divisions since we let him go. I wouldn't want him back now, mainly for practical reasons but also I wouldn't want his memory tarnished. We had three(ish?) great years under Nigel, let that be the memory.
  23. Well he offered to resign after one of the 9-0's and his resignation was rejected. Say what you like about his managerial prowess but he's a lovely man who genuinely wants what's best for the club. I'm not saying I think he SHOULD forgo the compo, I certainly wouldn't, I just think he might.
  24. What?
  25. Who cares about attractive football?? It's a results based industry.
