The thing that concerns me most is that Pelle didn't even attempt to run the channel. His first touch was poor and he barely won a single header. Yes strikers need goals but looking at his overall game, if he is not getting goal scoring opportunities then you have to work hard and do the other things well. He was very static. I am prepared to give him more time but I fear that we can't wait another 10 games before we use Long as the lone striker. Pelle's confidence would probably be shot to bits if we did that but at least Long works hard, runs the channels and occasionally his pace may get in behind them. I have only seen 4 games of Pelle but so far I am ver concerned

Agree 100% just hope the board share the same opinion (I would be stunned if they don't) but we are most likely going to have to pay a Shane Long type fee again to get one closer to deadline day

The club should make him remove his twitter comment or else fine him 2 weeks wages. We can't be giving in all the time or we will have the same thing going on this time next year. We can't think short term all the time. I think he will test the clubs patience right up till the end of the transfer window. My gut feel is the club will only sell if the fans turn on him.

Really? Do you genuinely believe he played well? I know football is about opinions but I actually turned to my mate during the game when we both thought he was having a shocker and I said (chuckling away) I bet some people will defend him on saints web and say he had a decent game. I respect your opinion but I thought he was terrible and I honestly would love to understand what elements of his game he performed well? If we had yoshida playing throughout the whole season we would be relegated IMO no question about it....but on the point of transfer rumours, we definitely need 2 x cb to avoid this being remotely possible

Great summary except Yoshida really was very poor and ward prowse not physical or quick enough (great free kick delivery, but on today's performance I would edge Taider ahead of him)

I think the argument are they good enough now to rely on keeping us in the premier league? I wouldnt want to rely on untried kids, so I definitely think we need 2 cb. One experienced and 1 who has shown a lot of promise and played first team football imo

Even if we have to go down the under 21 route, there must be a player in Spain, Germany, Holland, portugla, France at under 21 level who is better than we already have. I expect Koeman has a back up plan (I hope) but we are aiming for an experienced head to come in before deadline day. Otherwise imo, if we are not already doing so, we should look in the European u21 market

Exactly and if that said company was sold off then Southampton would not own the rights to the players....the said company would If that was possible and KL has no interest in Saints, then why would you not do that? It's a bit like converting you house into flats and selling them off individually. The resale value is ultimately higher and would have global appeal

Where did I read Krueger talking about looking at other commercial avenues and the academy becoming a franchise? If so, this fits in and is vey worrying. Surely they are not looking at selling the academy as a separate entity??? That is clearly not having the best long term interests of the club at heart....must find that interview now as a sanity check

Anyway I think she's only hanging around to bag one of the footballers. Now she has realised she has no hope, she's cashing in. We need Jack Cork to do the business, promise her the world for a new contract and get her to spend some dough. Then dump her on the 1st September once Messi and Ronaldo are on the bus.
