Have RM won the first header from every set piece? Fantastic defensively set up.
-
Yep. And it's interesting to think about which of the players we'll be signing this summer.
-
I worry about the 'Pool players now. A goal behind, in such a big game and with so many asthma victims on the pitch, it could get ugly.
-
They need to be careful. There might be a 'too many fans in the stand, a few people hurt, scenario.' (Is that comment in bad taste??)
-
That the thing I've been wondering.
-
Yep. Despite the Scouse gits having a few chances, I get the impression RM are playing well within themselves. Very much in second gear right now.
-
I bet a Scouse twat runs onto the pitch.
-
Put on a bit of timber too. Needs to be careful of stressing his knee.

A cheeky early season BBQ in the sun, as build up to the big game. Which I'm watching purely as an impartial, independent football fan. Must say: chorizo goes great on a BBQ and the Estrella is perfectly chilled. Honest. I just want a quality game, and no matter what happens: football is the winner. Now where did I put my Sangria jug?

And perhaps wait until the end of the transfer window before connecting a hosepipe to the exhaust.
-
That's interesting. Curious whether these 'fans', are actual fans, or posters who appeared on here?

Not surprised of the 'not a fan of the coaching set up'. Why would you be? On being under pressure: good! I remain (just) pro-Ralph, given the constraints he's worked under and what he's achieved. With coaching and playing staff improved (which I assume they will be) then he has no excuses - so show us what you can do. It also suggests some ambition and intent from the new owners. At last: Saints may be looking upwards. Remember when we last had that?

I didn't know that. Seems that detailed planning and uncovering even small advantages is a 'thing' for Ankerson. I was always a fan of some of the things Cortese said around this (e.g. taking players own matresses when staying away). Really get quite optimistic and even excited to see how this summer will unfold.

Apparently it's already been filmed....... Craig Fleming is driving a delivery truck; it appears slowly through the haze on a rainy day near the docks. Dave Watson navigating and managing the delivery schedule (on his iPad). The scene cuts to Dave delivering the package, and putting it really close to the front door, because it's pissing it down. Then a final fade out as he takes a photo of the successful delivery. With a tear in his eye, he closes his iPad. In a dramatic turn, with Ride of the Valkyries playing in the background, Kelvin Davis swoops in and places a large golfing umbrella over the parcel. That's right: KD is covering the near post. In a mid-credit scene, with OWTS playing at max volume, the sun breaking through, one final, uplifting scene is presented:

I would assume that won't sit to well with 'the powers that be'!

So the first major decision by the new owners and it seems to be seen as a positive on here. Is it possible we fans are going to have a happy summer?!

Just saw Eric Black at Winchester services. Carrying a toblerone, a signed Jürgen Klopp photo and a sheet of piano music.

Good. The right thing to do. Sad to see KD leave the club, given his loyalty and service in our rise back up the leagues. He should never have been given a first team coaching role though: not as his first coaching gig. Crazy decision. All the best KD! And cheers.

Seems like an empty article - surely decisions like this were made already. As the bosses you might DEMAND changes (to performances etc) in the season, but MAKE changes (to the manager, coaching team etc) in the close season.
-
If my memory serves correctly, we moved to a model where the fitness coach was replaced by the sports-science team.
-
Absolutely. For years we've had this notion of 'the club hires the coaches', which is nonsense, particularly if we hire turds. The manager needs to trust and respect the coaching team he has, accept their feedback, value their input and have his thinking challenged by them. And of course the team needs to align to his philosophy (and that of the club). Dave "iPad, nice hair" Watson, Kelvin "near post, player liaison" Davis and Craig "didn't do a great job before this" Fleming? Would you listen to anything they told you? Get fucking rid. I see that the contracts of KnpplD and CddagjbtF expire at the end of June anyway.

Hoping we see some investment, NOT based on sales, in order to kick off the 'make a profit on player sales model.' I am impatient and quietly optimistic about this window.
-
That can't be real. Can it?!
