Exactly what I was going to post! RH has his limitations, but the factor that has most impacted Saints over the past few years is the quality of player. Will be interesting to see which of these previous first-team stalwarts get moves to other premier league clubs. As an aside......have any of our previous coaching team got jobs elsewhere?

Yep. The quality of our squad over recent seasons has been, frankly, shit.

Tella out on loan, Che linked away (and no 'not for sale' message from the club). They must be pretty confident of securing some attacking players. The ones we've been linked with earlier in the summer still haven't made moves.

The 'come too late' is an interesting phrase..... for whom? The player himself or others too? It's the start of the new season, and we're not down yet; and the changes can't be 'too late' in the context of new players, or the new owners. I feel some alignment to my job...... the company I'm with were unexpectedly taken over by a competitor a few months back. A few people have already left, because of the uncertainty and fear of change; there's an incredible level of negativity from some, and huge optimism and excitement from others. Even though nothing has actually changed yet. Must be stange for the new starters these days. Funny thing, the human mind.

Nice Q: future of AM and Theo, and how about signing a more experienced striker...... .....non committal on AM and Theo. 'They're good guys'. On striker: it's about quality, not experience. RH says we're looking... so are lots of others. Says we need to get more clean sheets. Hard to defend against some PL strikers. We do need another striker though.

£15M seems cheap for what is and established, 'average' prem striker. Average in the sense of his goals return.....not many get more than 10 in a season. Maybe a fallout with Ralph? Maybe he's been told he won't get a new contract (or doesn't want one perhaps)? Maybe SR have their sights set on replacement(s) who are much better? Looking forward to the end of window merry-go-round.

I'm trying to be positive: we never win our opening match and Spurs will be pushing for top 4. The lack of a proper striker really showed today: AA was hopeless: no movement and zero ability to hold up the ball. Powder puff upfront. Guess Adams is off? Why else wouldn't he have been picked (plus the few pre-season run outs). Still have work to do with the squad: how can Bednarek, Valery and Stephens still be getting game time? With that defence, it was never going to be tight. Guess ABK isn't up to speed yet. And Djenepo instead of Perraud?! No need to push the panic button quite yet. Just the first game of the season. I'm still pro Ralph. But can we sign Coady please? And a proven striker? Preferably one who's a bit of a beast. Oh, and another creative player. And while we're at it, how about shifting Djenepo, Bednarek, Stephens, Valery, Redmond and AA?
