  1. We've done some decent business this window, in getting rid of some deadwood, and new signings. Tino was a unexpected surprise that came from nowhere; although we'd been in discussions since March I don't recall any rumours about him. I am much more confident in our transfer dealings this window than in past years. Surely the Greek guy would be brought in as an option (i.e. not the main man)? Adams/Tella/Greek guy + another? (Long/Obi out; Redmond nowhere near a CF role). Wonder if we'd go for a buy/buy-back option for the young guy at Arsenal (don't remeber his name....the one who was out of contract this summer, but re-signed)?
  2. Didn't RH shape his RB Leipzig team from young, hungry, fast players? Be nice to replicate things here.

    Danny Ings

    The dominatrix?
  4. Surely we'd have finalised the Armstrong deal before the Ings sale, if we really wanted him? No good reason not to. So maybe there's another out of the blue, Tino style signing on the way?
  5. So no comments from RH or the club on the small number of subs?

    Danny Ings

Disappointing that he has gone to Villa, and not the CL club he said he wanted. But it's decent money, and I do have confidence that we'll reinvest wisely. Besides, we've seen the best of Ings. Face the truth: that hairline is dissolving rapidly.

Thought I'd reshare the only gif I have ever created:

    Danny Ings

Can someone post the Ron Burgundy "That escalated quickly" gif? I think it would make us all feel better.
  9. Was Williams a decoy for Tino (does that happen?), a backup option? Or our first choice all along? (Maybe we didn't expect Tino)? Seems strange we chased for so long and switched at the last minute. Unless we want him aswel?!
  10. Like it.
  11. So Tino in, that's RB/LB cover sorted. Armstrong in, with Obi leaving. Hopefully alongside Ings (i.e. if Ings goes we get another striker); or is that too much to hope for? A no. 6 was menioned by RH a few days ago (presumably to add numbers, not replace existing)? That'd be a decent window. Assuming we do replace Ings/Vesty if they go.
  12. Not seen Williams or the Chelsea guy play, however if they are similar standard (and the story here suggests Tino is better), a purchase is much, much better for us than an expensive loan. Could this mean we have a board who knows what they're doing??!
  13. JWP replacement?
  14. Spending the Grealish millions.

  16. The number of "we shouldn't sell, he's too important" posts is interesting!
  17. Surely we can shape an offer with Moi & FF going the other way? Maybe they'd fancy Redmond. Annoying to see decent 'Saints type' players available for relatively low ££, yet we're so fucked that we can't exploit it.
  18. This is my hope. Probably a forlorn one though. Adams/Armstrong/Edouard would seem to give us great options up front. Having Redmond etc 'fill in' just doesn't work.
  19. Shame he had such a shit attitude. Think he could've been a fantastic player. Glad he's gone though. Presumably we'll see a new signing pretty soon.
  20. In any window never, ever, sign less players than Norwich or Fulham.
  21. I'd guess it is more to do with wages. Either way, we're clearly fucked financially.
  22. An out of the blue signing? Nice. I know nothing about him, but given that his name is (almost) an anagram of Demilunes I am sure he will be a good defender.
  23. He's okay. But he's no Jankewitz.
  24. Soggy biscuit.
  25. The 'paused for now' comments on Armstrong are interesting. And a bit strange. Not sure I've seen that with a transfer before. Does it mean everything is agreed and we need to find some ££ from a sale first? (free up wages? generate the transfer fee?) Maybe he's second choice, and we're waiting on developments with other targets? Or the report could be bollocks.
