Yep - I'm all for a dull one. A couple of fringe players out, and perhaps 1 decent signing. That u21 kid from Chelsea looks like a decent option for a DM slot. New CB? - not sure....given our model I think Stephens will be given the chance to develop for a season alongside VVD. The F5 button is going to have the summer off I think.

How can they spend £20M on one player? Doesn't FFP come into it somewhere? Does the fact they get about 84 people in their ground each match day not impact things?

Shame if he goes, but can't begrudge it. He joined as a talented player who's development was stalled at a bigger club...... despite a CL medal. With us he has grown into a far superior player. If he moves to Stoke, that is a problem.......but City? Isn't that a component of The Southampton Way? Hopefully we have a strong succession plan.

Welcome. Feeling increasingly optimistic about this based on the stuff I've read recently. Potentially a MoPo 2.0.... although of course we need to give him the chance to be his own man! VERY keen to see the return of a high-intensity playing style.

Agree with this. Currently we're the most attractive (and available) club in 'the world's most exciting league'.....so surely we should have our pick of managers? The names currently kicking about aren't that exciting. Perhaps the takeover situation and/or 'Southampton Way' set up makes us less attractive than we might otherwise be? We get this wrong and there could be a rapid slide in the offing.

Could do worse. Not exactly awe-inspiring though.
