A clear, set style of play....an identity. Not sure if this is planned or not. Does Puel intentionally set us up differently for each opponent? We've seen games where we've sat deep and stifled; we've seen examples of effective pressing. But I'm still not sure which is our real approach.

As someone pointed out on the match thread: Koeman coaxed 13 goals out of Long last season....... ....... Didn't we bring Puel in because he 'makes players better'? We really have gone backwards in every department.

Shout out for Yoshida. He has been an excellent professional for us. If he was starting CB for the rest of the season, would that be so bad?

I got a couple of snippets of info today......first time ever! To give some context: this is from a relative who has no interest in footy, aside from knowing I'm a huge Saints fan. Wasn't Adkins sacked because our style of play was too passive...I remember a Les interview where he said they wanted Saints to be more assertive, playing on the front foot, not being reactive to other prem teams: hence bringing in MoPo. And yet now we are anything but assertive.
