Maya is a proven premier league CB, and still has a long career ahead of him.
He is easily worth £15m.
Yes, the market is ****ing stupid now. Massively overinflated and i hate that. Yet in this market Maya is £15m worth of CB.
Hugely talented player. Could become sensational.
Don't think we can accuse him of being lightweight: he chases back and puts a foot in.
He does need to learn to sometimes just do the simple stuff........And a run of games would help.
Gameplan from us was obvious and probably the sensible one: do what we did to Liverpool a bunch of times this season.
But with Romeu and VVD missing it was going to be tough: but what would be an alternative?
Lack of pacy options on the break didn't help: if we had an alternative to JWP out wide to compliment Redmond (or even if Long had started instead of Barry) we might have seen a different outcome.
No disgrace losing to such a highly expensive Man City team though. Particularly with our absentees.
To play devils advocate......do we really want Europa league next season? Would it be more beneficial for us not to have the extra games?
This season feels a little like one step back, to take more forward. We seem to be playing better since Claude has had more time to coach the team (or this could be the Barry effect). Perhaps in the context of the next 3/4 seasons, doing without Europe next season would be a benefit?
Ohhh.
Marian was inspirational.
Micky Evans though: just edges it for impact. I remember an away day at Forest: missed header by Pearce... Evans goal. Then he dropped off the radar.
Heading off the the pub to watch now.
To all you lucky guys who managed to get tickets, and are up there supporting the lads.........................have fun, be safe, sing for us and for Markus.
