  1. Sorry I was going to ask this yesterday but had to go plan some coaching sessions. This consortium must of had the cash to be allowed to do due diligence so why pull out now? If they had signed an NDA as have all parties how do they know the others are better placed? If the club have not received any other offers then surely they are in at least the best position to buy the club even if that offer is the only one to buy it? Dont read this as aggresive questions just that you got me wondering why they pulled out.
  2. We already have one of those though.....look how good a decision that was.
  3. Plus everyone is ignoring the fact that we would need to pay compensation....do we really need to waste money doing that on a manager that hasn't cut his teeth in League 1 yet?
  4. Yes it was on the news sections several times - not on the ticker or tabs but definately on the news sections. Read out by several different readers the last one being the ex Blue Peter guy.
  5. I was sceptical at first but it was on the news bulletin. It is not bull****....well as far as SSN goes its real.
  6. Just been on again in the news section.....said again could be further news later today.
  7. Nope am watching SSN and nothing on it anywhere.
  8. At least no-one can say how many other Quentins are there in football! We know there are with Fortune..did old Crispy ?
  9. True my old dad was captain when it was Southampton CPC and then played for Swaythling - he was at Saints with Sydie and Paine etc.
  10. You forgot James who will be excellant if played inhis right position!
  11. Its all history and gone now but when Angel went off injured they bought on Carlton Cole who then started to bully us but were OK whilst we had Jacobbsen there who then got injured. I couldnt believe it when we bought on powder puff Davenport instead of Higgy who would of matched him for muscle.....the rest is history but shocking Redknapp team change cost us that game IMO.
  12. At least he could teach BWP to dive properly.
  13. I am hoping for the " Virgin St Marys Stadium" a touch of the Bransons here wouldnt go amiss.
  14. Call it the paranoia in me but after that refereree display on Saturday I am wondering whether the league are just looking for any other excuse to do a Luton on us. Mawhinney could of hardly been more pleased with himself last week.
  15. Actually the 4 minutes is not correct...its at least 4 minutes, add on for any substitutions, injuries, time wasting you continue or until Arsenal/Man U equalise ;-)
  16. I was listening to Mike Osman on Radio Hants before the game and he was talking about the next fundraising game...he was not very complimentary about the numpties on here who accused him and Lawrie of dipping their hands into the pot for appearance money! They also interviewed Tessem who stated he again wanted to come back to Saints and felt he could play at that level again. We all want to carry on playing at the level we did at our prime the trouble is time and age sees that we can't and Jo should realise that.
  17. I drove past The Saints pub in Millbrook today and saw a sign. Under New Management opening in May......
  18. Absolutely spot on, I have done a fair bit of refereeing at youth level and I thought he was atrocious although its a tough job and you can never win. After 20 minutes a mate of mine who sits a few feet away shouted to me that he felt the league had almost directed him not to let us win! One occasion one of our players was kicked up in the air the ref never spoke to him just waved him away. He then booked one of their players for protesting over a free kick. Its ok to break a leg but not to appeal....it felt like everytime we tackled we got booked then they walked away scot free. Ok a bit paranoic but when you battling away for survival that how it looked. Paterson may have been fouled but the swan dive was theatrical and almost as though the ref couldnt wait to give that penalty. I sit along the 6 yard line and the second goal was offside - the ball played to the far post I looked straight acros as he kicked it and he was a foot offside. It was not a free kick against us anyway as James was fouled earlier in that incident. No excuses for not winning we had the chances and blew it but the refs first half perfprmance was shocking IMO.
  19. Completely wrong...we have discussed this in great detail, you do not know me or my son and have no idea of what we do or how we act at any other time. This was one incident that occured at a highly emotionaly time..no excuse - we felt at that time and wrong to assume if we had permission it was fine. It was not and trust me the feeling since this event has left me in no doubt this one one of the most regrettable incidents in my life. It has been returned and my son fully understands the reason why and that nothing like it will ever happen again.
  20. Is that not Anthony Salz behind the man with the scarf...directly behind his left hand?
  21. FFS why dont you read what I posted..I never participated in any vandalism of any sort and do not condone it one bit. We asked a steward if we could have that bit of perspex and he agreed , it was not ripped from the wall hoarding or anything just lying against the wall. Just for your information that bit of perspex was returned to the club at 9am this morning and handed to a club official. He was fine with it and as far as I am concerned the end of the matter from my part.
  22. As I have said I do not condone it at all and fully understand any contribution past and present guarantees nothing and accept some fans anger. I do not agree with being called chav scum especiallly as at that time we did ask if it was Ok for him to have it so at that time I did not consider it theft. At no time did we participate in vandalism!! I fully intend to make further contributions to this club and the appeal to recompense.
  23. From hero to zero in a blink, he was totally gutted at missing it and for me showed how much that meant as it took him ages to get over. Had it gone in then he would of had his name in lights...unfortunately it was a poor effort and easy for the keeper. A shame as he had the balls to step up and take it.
  24. I do not know apart from the Chapel end penalty spot had been dug out...I have no idea how as there were many stewards stood near it. We just went on the pitch to take a couple of photos and then left without seeing any of the damage that has been descibed here.
