  1. I wonder what balls Saints have? I think we should have larger ones.
  2. Having another new manager changes expectations drastically. I would be very happy anywhere in the top 10. Winning any kind of trophy would be fantastic, but I absolutely expect us to put in a good showing. The only unacceptable finish would be relegation. I feel that the club has taken a major shift in direction this year regarding longer term contracts and possibly looking into buying in more young players. My real hopes and aspirations are actually directed more towards the season after this one......Having said all that, I'm very optimistic for a surprise this season.
  3. Screw the skates, I'm putting that on my OWN CV!!.......I feel I am a good team player, reasonably competent when sober. Now I'll just wait for the job offers.
  4. This year COULD be the year!!!!! The year that they rise up to the greater and more difficult challenge of, um, the THIRD tier........Baby steps, skates, baby steps. Maybe another couple of years practice at the very bottom would be a better idea.
  5. I will bother answering. I was excited about all those signings except for Davis. The only reason for not being excited about Davis was because he did what he always does....slips under the radar in order to make a surprise attack. I am normally very optimistic, however, in the case of this player, it does not look like he will be a positive influence.....As I said before, I hope I'm wrong!! Opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has one, but mine are more open.......er.....Hold on.....let me get back to you on this.
  6......Sorry, I lost it after the first 5 words. I'm always happy to give any new player a chance. However, some give me higher expectations than others. It's just the way life works.
  7. Well, this bodes (not) well. Plus only a two year contract. Looks to me like he has heard of our stepping stone reputation.....Oh well, perhaps we will get one good season out of him as he does his best to showcase himself. I find it difficult to get excited about this signing. I hope I'm wrong again. I was wrong once, back in 1978.......I suppose that might happen again.
  8. I was way cooler when I was a kid.....And I was a total vvanker.
  9. While it has been true in the past that there have been elections where there has been little motivation to vote because the candidates garner little interest, this is the first election I will ever vote in, US or UK, where my motivation, and the motivation of the bulk of the electorate, will be voting specifically for the candidate they dislike the least. Of course this is nothing really new, but I expect a very high turnout for this election based almost exclusively on this premise. And that will be a first. That is not exactly the theft of democracy, but yes.....It can certainly feel like that. I arrived in the US in 2000.....It has always seemed to me that things went tits up on my arrival. I am sincerely hoping that I was not to blame!!
  10. None were as effective as this speech against trump's xenophobia.. [video=youtube;Xzkkk-oJ6bo]
  11. I don't waste my time watching Michael Moore's liberally biased "Documentaries" either, so I won't be watching this one. Sure, these films have some real content, but for each 5 minutes of footage, you would have to do half an hour of research into the facts without the bias and rhetoric......They are simply not worth watching whichever side of the fence produces them.
  12. We would certainly benefit from having a third party. Not only to force more compromise in policy decisions, but also to unlock the deadlock in congress.
  13. I would certainly not vote for anyone who would undo the the first step to seeing universal health care and going back to a situation where you can't get health insurance if you are sick.
  14. Eric Sykes is looking a lot younger in that kit!
  15. I'll go with the "They don't like it up 'em" guy.
  16. Further on point 2. Actually Trump needs something to happen in congress too, as he does NOT have the support of his own party there. Congress will be a problem for both candidates regarding making any change without an executive order.
  17. Point 1. Trump talks about those things, and claims he will fix them without any mention of how he might do this apart from being awesome. Point 2 . Yes, a republican dominated congress makes things a lot harder to implement change. The Dems need a swing in congress and the Supreme court to avoid any further damage by the GOP Point 3. Putin....You are looking for support from Putin. Beware of your bedfellows.
  18. You have only just started down the path. In front of you, I foresee a future of bewilderment and an increasing sense of mortality. Welcome!
  19. Are you sure they were not hermit crabs who simply found a convenient shell to inhabit until they grow up more?
  20. Bolded point 1- Trump has not actually said anything at all yet aside from "Believe me" (He says that an awful lot) and everything is rotten, I will do it better (Believe me) Bolded point 2 - I don't know this. I can doubt it, sure, but I don't know it. For the record, I would have voted for Bernie without a qualm. Trump has said he would do plenty (Believe me) but has offered absolutely no clue as to how he will achieve anything without the support of the majority in congress. Bolded point 3 - Putin, yes....We should base our vote on whatever Putin has to say about it.?
  21. Yeah, I was shocked as hell when David Bowie died aged probably somewhere in his 30's not long ago. Time, falls VVanking to the floor. His trick is you and me.
  22. Mafia Don's tactics are those of the playground bully. Keep using a slur like 'Mafia Don' all the time and it will eventually stick and all the kids will think that Mafia Don actually has ties to the underworld, no burden of proof needed. Sure, politics is a nasty business, but to fool so many people by acting like a 12 year old? Mafia Don is truly excelling at it. I don't want the country to be run by a 12 year old.
  23. You keep getting those weird maths bombshells too!? I thought I was the only one who got those!!.....And the older you get, the weirder they become!
  24. Maybe we will struggle this season. It's anyone's guess. On a brighter note, we have been putting a lot of concrete in our foundations over the last few months by sorting out some very important long term contracts meaning we keep some key players or make an absolute bundle out of them.......A few smart signings on top of that and we will be well set up for the following season if not the coming one. Of course I am hopeful for the coming season, but more importantly, I am confident of the more distant future.
  25. Isn't that what started the fat pipes in the first place?
