As I said, it's not a biggy, so why would I even do that? I'm not knocking Luke or MUFC. It was a polite and decent thing to do. Most clubs would do the same for both their players and their fans. It was simply a well meaning response to some people during a bad time. The club wrote the letter, and Luke signed it, probably gladly......It's just nothing more than that. I don't need to put an opinion all over the internet just because I have one....Posting it here is even more than I should have bothered doing if anyone is going to get all bent out of shape about it.

For what it's worth, I don't think that calling it "Not much more than a form letter" is basically calling a form letter at all. I think it means "Not much more than a form letter".....Unless you didn't notice, I was calling it MORE than a form letter.

Um, that's why I didn't call it a form letter, but getting close to one as I'm sure they do get plenty of similar letters from bereaved fans and are well versed in handling them....Unless you are stupid enough to think this is the first correspondence of this nature that they have ever entered into. I answer plenty of emails every day that start with form responses which I edit to better suit the individual requirements. This one has all the hallmarks of one of those. Take a look at the main body of the reply, the longest paragraph. That is most likely a macro with just the "Last year" part, and the name Ava and "daughter" altered from the original.

I'm sure he's a fine young man. That's not the issue here. That letter simply doesn't look any more than something knocked up by the person whose full time job it is to perform that sort of task. It's not much more than a form letter, that's all. Right down to the little bit at the bottom about Man U. I'm not knocking Luke, simply not being taken in by it as being his heart felt feelings. It's really not a biggy.

Because it's painfully obvious that Shaw did nothing but sign this. To be fair though, that was probably quite a major achievement for him.

Calling Luke Shaw, please come to the PR office, we have typed a letter that we need you to sign.

There will always be pot holes in the road. The point is, what is the best way to fix them? Fill them with a something that has been researched and eventually proven and tested to be reliable over time.....Or fill them with hope and unfounded conjecture?

It's Friday, ho hum, nothing new stateside yet again. Move on folks, all these gun related deaths have nothing to do with guns. On a side note, how weird was that woman live streaming her fiance's dying moments. After the event, she said the police denied her the opportunity to speak to him one last time.....er, how about when you were filming him!!! He wasn't going anywhere!!
