I have to say I would have been first in line to give him the chop at the start of the season but he has been excellent so far this season. Got a bit sloppy with a couple of passes against Swansea but as a pure defender he has been faultless so far.

He looked like he was having a kick-about with his mates. I know he had nothing much to do but I think he looks like he'll be starting very soon. So far, so good.

I lolled. If it was petty it was bloody funny petty.

I'm quite excited to see Gardos in action, and I have a feeling I will like him a lot, but I can't see him getting in the team in front of Fonte at the moment. I'm not Fonte's biggest fan as a player but he has been rock solid in the opening 3 games and doesn't deserve to be dropped.

I'm sorry but when you live abroad and everyone thinks we are little Southampton and then the only other Saints fan (english - otherwise i wouldn't give a toss) in the place is a complete ****ed up dribbling, embarrassing bellend then you have to step in and tell him what's what in a manner that, hopefully, prevents further embarrassment amongst those Johnny Foreigners who are questioning their Liverpool allegiance. Graceful behaviour and building on the rep we have, without doubt, garnered in recent times is the only way we are gonna bring the plastics over to our side. More plastics = more ££ and more chance of coverting into long term fans. i didn't think that all through at the time of course but i was horrified that a Saints fan could be such a tit, enough to step in.
