I really hope Crouch shuts up soon, appreciate when he's done for the club but we really don't need to know all this crap it's just childish.

Pinnacle Led Bid Latest- Premiership in Five Years
Andy_Porter replied to John B's topic in The Saints
That's very optimistic considering our 10 point deduction. Would take a massive outlay to get us out of the Championship at the first attempt and even that might not be enough if the squad takes time to gel. -
Since Christmas Lallana has been like that but before then he was one of our best players. It's easy to criticise a young player who hasn't performed this season but you have to take things into consideration. He took a while to get over his injury, was playing in a new position for a long stretch and played a long time with no real experience upfront. He's 10 times better than Hamill and has a lot more potential anyone can see that. Saying that he's not as good as some people like to think, doesn't tackle or get stuck in enough and certainly doesn't control the tempo of the game at all like he should and well there where people at the forum match who can shoot better than Lallana. There is alot of potential there though and he's one of the few I hope stay next year. If we played him behind a big lump of a centre forward next season he could be an important player for us.

There really isn't much difference between the Championship and League one, our current side minus Size, Davis, Saga, Skacel and Euell will struggle unless we bring in new faces to replace them. People need to realise this before the season start or they will be in for another dissapointing season. Unless we get big investment in then I'll be very happy with a mid table 8th-12th type finish. People like BWP won't suddenly be able to shoot because they've dropped down a league and as Chez says Wotton won't suddenly become quicker or any better on the ball. The next managerial appointment will be massive for us, a decent experienced manager and I think we should have the players left to achieve the mid table finish but at the same time a bad manager and we could get dragged into another relegation scrap easily and our players have already shown they don't have the character to win six pointers.

If you've got tabs on your internet explorer you can just drag the picture in a new tab and save it like that. Lots quicker than print screens or copying the file URL. -

Just find the picture you want to save and put the name of the file at the end of ... http://www.2amphotography.co.uk/events/saintsweb/bin/images/large/ like if you want to save the picture of steve put _L1_0522.jpg at the end to get http://www.2amphotography.co.uk/events/saintsweb/bin/images/large/_L1_0522.jpg There's probably a more simple way but that's how I done it. -

Quality evening lads. Cheers for everyone who took part and Steve/Baj for organising it all done a really good job. My right foot has pretty much doubled in size after clouting into the home team keeper though. All good fun tho \o/ -
Might as well get back Idiakez and Wright.

What was the best goal scored by a Saints player? - Lallana at QPR, ****e game over all and was when our season really started to turn for the worse but it was a brilliant team goal and showed how well we could pass and move at times. The best game you saw? - I'm going to go with Derby away. Forest was the best weekend but Derby was such a brilliant performance and against a side I was still bitter with after the play offs made it even sweeter. Reading was good as well but I was far too ****ed to really remember anything about the game. Funniest chant heard? - "Carlise on a tuesday night, Carlise on a tuesday night, Carlise on a tuesday night."

Schneiderlin - Saints Biggest Waste of Cash Ever?
Andy_Porter replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
Indeed, 1.2m in our position is mental. You could almost understand if it was spent on a goal scorer or a solid centre back but unproven defensive midfielder is crazy. Would have been better off keeping Safri. No potential to get better but we already had him and he was very experienced with the Championship would have been great for us this season. -
He has ended the season well but lets not forget how **** he was for first three quaters of the season. 11 league goals and he's played near enough every minute this season and a few of those where penalties, nothing to write home about
-
The 2008/9 Squad 1. Kelvin Davis - As good as gone, too good for league one. 2. Chris Perry - Been good for us this season and has easily got a season left. 3. Wayne Thomas - Hopefully he is over his injury problem and coms back at his best could be a very important player with Size gone. I think he'd be a good partnership with Perry. 4. Marek Saganowski - Hope we can get rid of him. 5. Jan Paul Saeijs - Can't see him staying in L1 but would be great if he did, three decent CB's for the first time since relegation would be a great platform to build from. 6. Michael Svensson - Will be gone imo. 7. Rudi Skacel - Hope he getrs injured and struggles to find a club. Complete mercenary. 8. Bradley Wright-Phillips - Not sure if i'd want him to stay even if he accepted smaller terms, I guess it depends on wether he's grown up off the field or not. Could do a job in L1 but he's definatly a bad influence at times. 9. Gzregorz Rasiak - Watford will take him, I imagine we will give him away free. 10. Paul Wotton - Will still be here next season but would give him away if anyone wanted him. 11. Andrew Surman - Future England international according to yesterday programme lol. Won't be a Saint next season and any money we get for him will be a bonus. 12. Lee Holmes - Will be good for about 10 games next season, anymore is a bonus. We won't get rid though no one will touch him with his injury record. 13. Bart Bialkowski - Will probably leave us unless we make him number 1. 14. Stern John - Gone. 15. Jason Euell - Gone, far too expensive and apart from his effort and physical attributes isn't really godo enough. It's a shame though I'd really like him to stay for his versatility and experience, if we can afford to keep him on less wages then we definatly should. Could be our one extravagance. 16. Romain Gasmi - Serious doubts over wether he's a real footballer. 17. David McGoldrick - Don't really like him and his attitude but he's done enough to be a starter next season just need to work out our best formation which suits McGoldrick. 18. 19. Morgan Schneiderlin - Should be sold if we get an offer over 400k, if not then he's probably worth keeping. Should do some serious work in the gum getting stronger. 20. Adam Lallana - Like Schniederlin will be sold if the offer is good enough if not then he should be good in L1 depending on our manager. 21. Jamie Hatch - Keep. 22. Simon Gillett - Will be next season player of the season if he stays fit. Make him captain and let him anchor the midfield. 23. Lloyd James - Grown in stature all season hopefully a few of the youngsters will improve like him next season. 24. Oliver Lancashire - Give him another season as backup and see if he improves. 25. - 26. Jake Thomson - Would rotate him and McLaggon as our right winger next season decent player and very versatile would definatly keep him. Others not on the list: Oscar Gobern - Should definatly stay as back up. Needs to build up a bit but looks like he could be a solid player Kayne McLaggon - Definatly worth keeping and should be in the first team squad, great impact player. Tommy Forecast - Get rid of him even if it's a season long loan to get rid of some of his wage bill. Pointless player just as bad if not worse than Pulis. Matt Paterson - Got high hopes for Paterson i think he could be the best of the young batch. Should be third choice striker next season hopefully with a new older head bought in to be first choice and help Paterson. Joseph Mills - We need to get him signed up, if we lose him to S****horpe then we will be losing a very good left back who has shown he can do a job in L1 should be our first choice left back. Anthony Pulis - Will still be here no one will take him. Ryan Smith - Would give him another year contract, seen him do enough in the reserves to think he could do a job in League one. Wotte has ruined him playing on the right every week which is just stupid. Lee Molyneux - See Pulis. Nathan Dyer - Take any money we can get and run, massive attitude problem and very over rated. Matthew Poke - Keep him as sub goalie behind who ever is first choice. We don't need four keepers and should definatly get rid of two of them. Jaime White - Give him a one or two year deal, not sure if he'll be ready for next season because of his injury but he'd be a good back up player.

Money is irrelevant, it's managers that matter
Andy_Porter replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
We really need a long term solution for the next manager. A yong but experienced manager who won't jump ship at the first oppurtunity. Magilton would be my first choice. Ince or Boothroyd would be good as well, there are plenty of options though just need to make sure we make the right choice. -
10k wouldn't be poor for a league one side, we need to realise how far we've fallen. Most clubs in the league are happy to get a 10k attendance, getting that many season tickets would be good.
-
£300 and we will sell 10k i'm almost sure of it. If it's a consortium with Le Tissier involved then we could get 14k or so at that price which would be a massive lift for next season.

Quality weekend, probably the best away of 2009, just a shame we couldn't hang on to the lead. McGoldrick and James where both stand out performers for me. Think the main problem as usual was not getting the second goal when we where winning, Euell is never going to score enough goals as a lone striker and the two wide men don't take enough chances or get into the box enough. We really need to sign a proper goal scorer next season or change the system so we play two up top. Gillett had a good game but the Forest midfield over run us at times and Schniederlin got shown up again, he's a good footballer but not suited to the league at all and I can see it being even worse next season. The defence untill Size got injured was playing well and looked quite solid even with Surman at left back going forward at every chance. Once Gobern moved to left back and Size got injured we seemed to struggle though, Perry can't do everything on his own and Lancashire doesn't look ready at all. Really looked like Davis was saying goodbye to the fans at the end, he looked really emotional as he walked the length of the pitch and then he went round quite a lot of the players individually before throwing his gloves, captain band and shirt into the crowd. Surman stuck around for a while longer than the other players as well so I think those two have probably played their last game for the club.

Schneiderlin - Saints Biggest Waste of Cash Ever?
Andy_Porter replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
He didn't play well at all. He's ****e, he just doesn't do anything at all. He just ponces around in the centre circle letting games pass him by. Gillett is a much better option in the middle. -
I don't like him at all, there simply isn't room in the same side for Schneiderlin, Lallana and Surman you can't play three players like that in the same midfield. Surman is probably worth the most money of the three so it makes sense to sell him, won't be a loss to the side at all. Doesn't help that he doesn't really know his best position, IMO he's probably best at left back. He doesn't have the pace to play on the wing and he's far too weak to play in the middle. 700k would be good business for everyone involved. He's certainly got potential to be a good player for Reading but he's stagnated here and we need rid of him and really could do with some money to keep us going. I'd be quite happy to see Schneiderlin, Dyer, Mcgoldrick and Lallana all go for around 700k as well.
