That is exactly the sort of attitude England needs to drop if we're ever going to do anything at International football. He's been fantastic so far this year for Spurs,
-
Such a shame to lose him at a critical point, I can see the next six weeks being a bit of a slog.
-
Holland, Barcelona, Fulham, Man City, Real, Athletico, Bayern etc all played wingers on their 'wrong' side last season and all done very well. Strange?!
-
Why do people keep on making out that playing wingers on their 'wrong' side is some sort of tactical phenomenon that only happens at Southampton? It doesn't unbalance the side, we still score a shed load of goals and look just as strong defensively. It really is ridiculous. As for the Lallana getting 'sussed' do you actually watch him play? he's got far more to his game than cut inside shoot, repeat. Again ridiculous.
-
I don't think they did. Lambert, Jaidi and Hammond have been off form all season and Gully was terrible in an unfamiliar position in a new country. That's four players not at their best and against a decent side like Swindon you're going to struggle. We don't have a devine right to be winning these sort of games, especially when three key players are woefully out of form.
-
Indeed, I'd take anything he has to say with a pinch of salt.
-
Ticket prices where a bit of a joke. I know £12 isn't expensive but it's still a big increase on the early rounds last season. If you paid the ticket tax, the ticket for last nigth would have been double the cost of Torquay and Charlton last season. Torquay, Charlton, Norwich and Luton where all cheaper last season, Even Ipswich was only a couple of quid more. Hopefully that will be the last time we play in the JPT, can't see it myself.
-
Guly didn't show any desire and put in a distinct lack of effort IMO, worst possible game for him to make his first start mind. I'm sure there will be more to come when he starts to adapt. A lot of top manager say you can't expect anything from a foreign player during the first 6-12 months, that's what makes these loans bizarre, you can't expect the lad to adapt and show his best from in a new country in such a short space of time. Same with Waigo I bet he would be a lot stronger this season if we had signed him permanently.
-
What a ridiculous post. I hope he's got enough about him that he will improve over the next few months but at the moment Dickson should be in the team ahead of him, he wasn't very good. I don't like judge a player on two games so will give him time. I will say he looks like a proper athlete, quick, strong and tall if he has some sort of football brain and can get used to the league and language hopefully he might meet our expectations and earn himself a contract.
-
The same as pretty much every other team in the country then.
-
The support was fantastic at Bristol Rovers.
-
2.1ppg since he spent the bulk of him millions. And he got results from mixing things up a few times since the January window (Yeovil a, Brighton a, Charlton h) we mixed 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 a fair bit with varying results. The problem was that we couldn't hold on to 1-0 leads away - Exeter, Brentford, Wycombe and Milwall, not being able to get the second goal while Barnard was still settling and Connolly was injured was what cost us in the end IMO.
-
If it is the case and Cortese is just going to back Reed in these sort of situations then I hope Les Reed is the bloke making the decision over the new manager otherwise this will just happen again at some point.
-
What about the supporters charter? I know it doesn't affect you but surely you can see that lying to fans is a poor decision.... That's just one of many as well, there have been a few very strange decisions.
-
The problem will be if we get in any manager who isn't a huge name, say someone like Blackwell (could be a decent shout, just not a big enough name for some) took over and we got a couple of bad results, the whiney hysterical element of our fanbase would be on his back from the off just because of the support towards Pardew. It's going to get incredibly hard for anyone to take over.
-
Oh ok I'll just let Cortese get away with everything and anything without saying a word then. Blind faith, woo! There's nothing wrong with speaking out when a poor decision is made, over the last six month Cortese has made several, if you can't see that then well it's your problem.
-
Wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad if Dickson had played on the left, Gully was just annonymous.
-
Let's excuse every poor and bad decision Cortese has made and will make in the future because he put a really rich man in contact with our administrator?! Even if we had gone out of business there would still be a Southampton somewhere to watch, sometimes I think that might be a more enjoyable option as a supporter.

Poor performance. Lambert, Jaidi and Hammond where all **** poor, basically the spine of our side that made us so hard to beat, it's no suprise you're going to get destroyed when those three don't turn up. Gully looked like he didn't want to be here, anything that was straight into his feet and he'd end up moaning at Harding or just shrugging his shoulders, no work ethic and no real signs that he had something special about him. Would have much rather seen Dickson or Mills start on the left, even Holmes would have put in more of a shift and he's injured. I would not be suprised if what BPsaint is saying is true, I found it bizarre that Martin was dropped, prior to Bolton I haven't been too impressed with him (mainly distribution) but against Bolton and Rovers he has really come on, nothing was going to get past him all night seemed to have a good understanding with Fonte. Might also be the reason Gully was played left wing rather than Dickson.... Connolly, Puncheon, Fonte, Butterfield, Davis and of course Oxlade-Chamberlain where the only players really who really worked for the side. Barnard seemed to be trying a bit too hard with his tackle and was unfortunate, still gives Connolly a chance to impress over the next three games. Can't remember the last time I've come away from St Marys feeling so deflated, apart from Chamberlains little cameo there wasn't much in the way of positives to take away from a game against a fairly poor outfit, need to get a decent manager in to get the squad back together, hopefully someone Cortese backs completely and doesn't try to force decisions on. If we just appoint some yes man who's going to do what ever Cortese tells him to do we would be lucky to get promoted to the Championship in five years let alone the Premiership.

After making a 5m profit on Kenwyne Jones I'd put him in the top category, probably same with Fernandez.
-
4000?! ****ing hell wouldn't have bothered getting a ticket if I knew it would be so dead. Going to be a great game =/
-
Guess they will be played at the Emirates then.

We only had the lower tier and that was without the first three rows. I was there and didn't have a seat had to stand on the steps next to a row of seats. -
As if Fonte is worth 4m quid. Quite frankly ridiculous to make a 3m profit on a player in 8 months.
