Lambert just isn't fully match fit, in the first half when we where playing the ball around and getting some decent service into him he was winning everything in the air. It was only the last half and hour when we started launching everything up into the air and expecting miracles.

Which stand is the open air stand? I bought my tickets and they're in the Arkells stand.

Why are we so crap at the beginning of the season..?
Andy_Porter replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I don't think we've really been crap, not getting results but apart from the first half against Bournemouth and the last twenty minutes yesterday we've played some decent positive football just not getting the results. -
I can't really remember what my pint was like, I don't remember it being any worse than usual. What ****es me off is that they don't keep the Northam bottle bar open, so much nicer to have a bottle and it's usually alot easier to get served. Surely it pays for itself easily? doesn't make any sense to me.

A fantastic signing, will be interesting to see how he does when Richardson comes in at right back and Butterfield gets to play a few more games. Might be worth a try alongside Schneiderlin in the middle.
-
He's just a bit of a nothing midfielder. Doesn't really retain possesion well, doesn't score enough, doesn't really put himself about in either box and doesn't get the team going as a captain. We need a solid attacking midfielder to play alongside Schneiderlin, someone like Danns would have been perfect. Having two defensive midfielders who together in the middle isn't doing us any favours at all. I'd be inclinded to move Lallana inside and play Dickson left wing, at least then we would have a bit of threat and creativity through the middle and Schneiderlin should be fine doing all the defensive leg work. Would also leave more space in the middle for Fonte to step up into.

Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction
Andy_Porter replied to Baj's topic in The Saints
He hasn't been utterly crap, what a ridiculous thing to say. He's just been slightly out of form, by no means one of our worst players. -
He's an alchy and an utter ****. I've seen him ****ed out of his face so many times over the last couple of years being an absolute *****.
-
Do they make you sign some sort of disclaimer? I mean if it went wrong you could probably sue for millions.
-
Do one of those every month and you've got the equivalent of a 16k job. Worth a go if you're skint, not sure i'd fancy it though.
-
How much do you get paid? Would need a fairly big wedge to consider it.

Hopefully be a slightly better game than our last trip to Hillsborough. Anyone found a cheap way of getting the train from Central? Cheapest I can find now is £50 p/p which is annoying, should have prebooked it earlier.

Brizzle Rovers - Bank Holiday Weekend
Andy_Porter replied to Michelle's topic in Saints Away Supporters
Last season I pre booked most of my trains with set times for most away games and nearly always messed them up somehow (the worst was somehow ending up in reading after the Exeter game) never got in any trouble, the train guard people where always understanding. It was always a genuine (usually drunken) mistake, I do try and get on the trains i've booked. I'm meeting a friend in bristol anyway, so getting the 9pm train back doesn't really bother me, first proper **** up of the season. -

I think it's about a mile closer, not 100% sure though -
Only becayse Assou-Ekotto was getting roasted for the first 30 minutes.

They can announce them now and then change them at any time before the end of the window. It's a pretty pointless rule, other than City not many teams will be losing any players simply because they are up to 25 players.
-
I agree, in the big European matches and the Real Madrid games he should have started on the bench and brought on after an hour or so to give them a plan b, he's not at all suited to the Spanish tiki-taka style, very strange signing. He's probably the sort of player who would be fantastic in the premier league. I meant he hadn't scored a knockout CL goal before he had signed for Barca. He's just a flattrack bully IMO.
-
No he rejected the chance to play at Inter so they just whacked an extra 3m on the fee.
-
That's the best thing I've ever seen.

Who should we get in as Lambert's back up?
Andy_Porter replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
There is no chance we have more swing with players than Rangers. Ridiculous to suggest otherwise. -
I don't remember the thread but I'd like to think every reply was basically laughing at Barca, It is one of the strangest transfers in history. 38m+Eto'o with 150kp/w wages could have gotten them any striker in the world yet they choose a striker who has never scored a goal in a Champions League knockout game.
-
if we don't win this we are ****ed. totally ****ed.
-
He can put a cracking ball into the box but that's about all he's showed so far in his Saints career, hopefully more to come.
-
Isn't that a PL thing rather than FL?
-
Hardly, he's a charlaton, some of his performances last season where embarassing. The most over-rated footballer on the planet, next season he will barely get a game. I can't see anything other than Messi, Pedro and Villa being their front three. Which would be fine if Barca ever played long balls up to him.
