  1. I think he is, look what he has achieved for his club. Name another 29. Achieved for his club? Liverpool have hardly exactly set the world alight, He was fantastic in the FA cup I'll give you that. Worst player on the pitch first half in the CL final but more than made up for that once Hamman came on. Iniesta, Xavi, Alonso, Fabregas, Sneijder, Kaka, Robinho, Uzil, Muller, Schweinsteiger, Lampard, Messi, Di Maria, Ronaldo, Essien, Gourcoff, Arshavin etc
  2. Greatest hope for this season?- An even more enjoyable season than the last. Biggest fear?- Cortese being too brash and sacking Pards or struggling to get tickets now i've got rid of my ST. Most important player?- Fonte. Terrace favourite?- Lambert Keep an eye out for...- Adam Lallana Player you'd happily drive to his next club?- Tommy Forecast. Only if he promised not to talk. One change you'd make at your club? - Improved communication from those at the top. Have we got the right manager?- Yes. What advice would you give him?- Just tell him how well liked he is from the fan base, I don't think he needs any advice. Which team do you most want to beat this season?- Portsmouth. Opposition player you despise?- Bradley Wright-Phillips. ****. Opposition player you secretly admire?- Rory Paterson. Where will we finish?- Top.
  3. If you go to watch the cricket rather than the football then you are never coming to any football game with me again. I didn't think my opinion of you could get any lower.
  4. 3 years in jail and £38K fine? I'd do it twice.
  5. No better than Barnard and Puncheon TBH. Would not want either.
  6. You can take as much as you want... I went with a couple of mates and we took in 30 cans iirc
  7. I think Pardew would have wanted him to stay but obviously couldn't guarentee first team football so Lloydy decided to leave. Just a hunch mind, no idea if it's true.
  8. Won me a nifty with his goal against Exeter. For this I will love him forever. Will ignore all the money I lost through betting on him
  9. When was this? during the majority of the qualifying Gerrard was on the left and Rooney was just behind Heskey, I don't remember us ever playing anything else.
  10. It's good to know that you're going for the right reasons mate!
  11. If you've only got a few weeks got interrailing accross Europe.
  12. The same system and players who done so well in qualifying. Gerrard played on the left because he doesn't warrant the team being built around him, based on his England/Liverpool form he shouldn't be anywhere near the team really. Nine goals last season in his proper position, Lampard got more than double that - if we're going on club form it should be Lampard in his proper attacking midfield position. It's very easy to blame the system, we simply aren't good enough. We could have played 4-4-2, 4-3-2-1, 4-5-1 whatever the outcome would have been the same. People would be moaning and blaming the formation no matter what. It's time to realise players like Gerrard, Lennon, Terry, Barry, Lampard, Crouch, Defoe - they just aren't as good as we think they are. Doesn't help that the whole squad is rotten to the core. Indeed, it wasn't the systems fault that Terry and Upson forgot how to defend and let Klose in against James, it wasn't Heskey being in the side that made Rob Green let one slip through his fingers etc We where never going to win the world cup, it's ridiculous to think with the current crop that we could win the world cup. It's like an Everton fan moaning about a transfer because he's not the sort of player that's going to win them the league. There are some decent players in our squad but they've all had their time. Cappello will make his money now in the lead up to the Euro's, he will need to make some big decisions if he's going to be seen as a success in years to come. Gerrard isn't one of the best attacking midfielders on the planet, I'd say there are at least 30 who are far better. Just look at someone like Iniesta for Spain he's a different class to Gerrard.
  13. What mistakes has Capello made?
  14. He does have a point, he was an embarrassment that day. I've never been so angry travelling back from an away game.
  15. Don't see any future for Murty, he wasn't anything special in the few games he did play for us last season and after a year out he's hardly going to get any better.
  16. Dawson and Richards? We have such an amazing squad.
  17. Lets say he manages to stay fit during the whole pre season and comes off the bench a few times without getting injured - who does he replace in the side?
  18. There's not a hope in hell either Puncheon or Lallana are going to be dropped and Holmes isn't really an impact sub. So it's either a case of playing 4-5-1 to accomodate Holmes (dropping Baranrd or Connoly in the process), dropping Lallana or Puncheon. Neither going to happen IMO. We be a fairly decent squad player if anyone picks up an injury mind.
  19. All of my friends thinK Gerrard is some sort of god, it's like they've been brainwashed by the Sky and BBC pundits, I can't say a bad word about him without being told i'm biased and only dislike him because he's a scouser. Most of them think he was easily our best player at the world cup and the only one who played to the best of his ability.
  20. Just as long as no one tries to use gelling as an excuse I'll be happy.
  21. The problem with adding new players too late is we get the "gelling" excuse again.
  22. Probably more to do with playing Lallana and Puncheon on their "wrong" sides, I don't think Pardew is really interested with our two wide men getting crosses in, it seems like that's what the full backs are instruced to do.
