After seeing that squad I will probably give it a miss. The only player there I'd acutally want to see in action would be Reeves, I thought there would be a few like Mills, McNish, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gobern etc involved not sure why they've labelled it a Saints XI.

He has no footballing ability at all and yet he's contracted to Southampton probably on a couple of grand a week just for playing a few pointless games and kicking a ball around in training. A lot better than working your nuts off on a building site or sitting at a desk in an office for fourty years. Luckiest man in the squad.
-
Why would he agree to leave? He's not going to get another club and we're obviously paying him well. Great decision Rupert.
-
Not too fussed about him really, over hyped.

New Yorks and Mccluskys where pretty ****ing dire but can't fault somewhere you could get into at 16. My college days where filled with Lennons, So:bar, Hobbit, Varsity, Avondale etc, mainly nights in Lennons, was pretty decent - gone to **** now. Brannigans was good before it closed down, three drinks for a fiver i think only downside was it's size, far too big. Now a days I don't really rate any of my nightsout, prefer just to sit in a pub somewhere and be miserable.

Nice one. I can't see there being much of a crowd so should be able to spot you both.

Because the Germans let them have it... Klose spent the whole game isolated, Villa had plenty of Spanish around him at all times they just struggled to get the ball into telling areas because Germany defended so well. Possesion football in this case wasn't negative.

The friendly at Winchester a couple of years ago was quality. Seeing Killer back in action for the first time in ages, was such a shame his fitness didn't last so long. Will probably go there again and see a few of the youngsters, any idea which players have gone to Switzerland?
-
So you wanted Germany to win because you think Spain play negative football (lol what?) and now in the final you want Holland to win despite them stinking up the whole tournament despite having some of the best footballers in the world. If Germany where half as good as you suggest why didn't they try and give the Spanish a game untill Puyol scored?

He's Scouse He plays like he's stoned He got shot in the arse Nothing positive to say i'm afraid.

Really hope he does well for them, one of my favourite ex Saints players. -
Get in! Just need the Spanish to **** Holland in the final now.

It's Germany who are making this game frustrating - Spain are trying to play football and Germany are containing them. They are using the full width of the pitch of both sides, getting pretty much everyone apart from Puyol forward and getting plenty of crosses into the box. They could do with Llorente upfront, crossing to a few midgets isn't helping them at the moment. Xavi is easily the best player in the world in his position, he's a fantastic player and has been as good as any player in the world over the last couple of season.

I think we will just give Murty a pay as you play contract, either that or sign a versatile defender who can cover right back and centre back.

It's a 606 rumour, I don't think I've ever seen anything from there actually happen. -
Will be ineteresting to see who else comes into the squad and how we line up during the last couple of pre season games. I get the feeling we will see a marquee signing before the start of the season, someone else who will go straight into the starting XI.

Van Bommel is the sort of player you hate if they're playing for the opposition and love if they're on your side. No idea how the refs haven't clocked onto him though, he's been a right nasty **** these last few games.
-
Should be perfect then, sounds a bit like Dan Harding.
-
What sort of a right back is he? Your modern pacey, attacking and a bit suspect in defence type full back (Bale, Johnson etc) or a more traditional defensive full back (Neville, Murty?) Probably seen him play plenty of times against Southampton, but it's very rare an opposition player ever stands out.
-
He's the reason they're doing so well, we could do with his sort in the England side.
-
Jim Beglin got taken ill just before the KO.
-
This is shaping up to be quite some game despite both teams playing really horrible football.

Like a left footed Wayne Thomas. What a strike.
