So glad he has signed on for another season. Dickson, Richardson and Connolly all signed up so far, add in Stock, Murty and a right sided winger come striker and we will be set for the season.
-
Or you could just sort the couple of hours off for Barnet on the 27th so I don't end up going on my own!
-
Probably right, I doubt he will play as many JPT and carling cup games, probably just be FA Cup and League games next season, 40 goals from 50 or so games would be quite an ask and then there is suspension and injury to think about. I bet if you spoke to Lambert he will be targetting 40 this season.
-
He got 37 last season, I don't see why another three would be out of the question. I would however be very suprised if Barnard get 25 considering he won't be getting any penalties to boost his total this season.

Hugh Fearnely-Whittingstall is quality, Jamie Oliver is a bit of a don as well.

Probably my two favourite away trips last season, was a bit gutted they're both on Tuesdays. Will probably just sack work off on those days. I am getting so bored of waiting for the season to start.

I'm in the same position, I'm sure once the football starts I'll change my mind but I am going to try and just do aways and maybe the odd Tuesday at St Marys. -

Aliadiere isn't a bad player and Stock would be fantastic. Coid and Hendire though? no thanks... -

I think 4-5-1 is the way forward as well, although I'd say we sit Hammond and Schneiderlin in front of the defence and have a far more attacking player infront of them, Danns would be ideal but there are plenty of quality attacking midfielders in the CCC we could convince, someone like Garvan would be fantastic. I guess more of a 4-2-3-1 than a 4-5-1, with the three all switching positions and keeping the opposition guess, worked well with Lallana, Puncheon and Antonio at times just need another attacking mid to join them. -
Is that true? Quite shocking, I would have thought after all our bumper crowds and cup runs we would have made a fair whack. Fonte, Lambert, Jaidi, Davis etc must be on huge wages.
-
Spot on, not sure why people are so obsessed with signings after how well we finished the season. Clyne, Stock, Antonio and someone like Trundle, Pitmann or Akinfenwa would be a perfect summer.
-
Fair play to Suarez, I would have done exactly the same in his situation, he should be comended for taking one for both his country and team. I'd be idolising any Southampton player who done the same thing. I will be following Uruguay for the rest of the tournament, also lol @ the purists.
-
I can't see any reason why we wouldn't perfom. Davis, Ostemebor, Harding, Fonte, Jaidi, Puncheon, Lallana, Morgan, Hammond, Lambert and Barnard where immense towards the end of the season all we've lost from the XI is the right back who most people would have picked out as the weak link. We will replace Ostemembor and we will bring in a few squad players and maybe even someone who will go straight into that starting eleven. For once I'm looking forward to a season where we won't have to put up with any "gelling" at the start of the season - Pardew knows what he's doing.

Will the bank ask any questions if I take £340's worth of old 20's in to get changed?

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

I was assuming and hoping Connolly will sign. We seems to be sacking off all our decent youngsters - Paterson would be a decent squad player this season such a shame we lost him. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Oscar Gobern and Callum McNish where the only bright youngsters coming through although I haven't seen the reserves play for 6-7 months so no idea really. -

I reckon so. We really don't need too many more players, anything more than a right back, a central midfielder and a winger-come-striker would be counter productive IMO. Would be very happy if we go into the Plymouth game with Dickson, Clyne, Stock and Antonio as our four summer signings. Leaves plenty of room for youngsters to step up into the squad and obviously the loan market to exploit if we get any injuries. Best of all no excuses about gelling at the start of the season. Might leave us a little short at right back but i'd like to think we've got enough players who can "do a job" there. -
********, why didn't I hear about this earlier. Such a pain.

England starting XI for Euro 2012 qualifiers

I couldn't agree more, there must be something wrong with the way the youngsters are trained we have so few creative English players, there's got to be something a miss. -

As for the team GK - Hart DR - Johnson DL - Cole DC - Jagielka - Should probably be Terry on ability but the bloke brings an unwanted ego to the team. DC - Cahill MR - Johnson ML - Milner MC - Barry MC - Carrick / Huddlestone - arguement for both. AMC - Lampard - no real alternatives SC - Rooney Probably our best five footballing midfielders, wingers on their opposite side so they're forced to cut inside and clog up the middle even more which gives us more options to feet and space for the full backs to bomb forward. We're not going to progress untill we learn to keep the ball. Hopefully a few of our younger players get moves so their careers can kick on, Onuonha and Johnson at City for example both looked brilliant before all the money came into the club. Probably just make Rooney captain and be done with it. -

Indeed, captain fantastic running around like a headless chicken done Ashley Cole or indeed the team no favours at all. We have to either drop him or play him in his "favourite position" where his i'm better than the rest of you I'm Steven ****ing Gerrard attitude can't hurt the team. Such an over rated pile of scouse ****e. Alonso carried him in that Liverpool side, no suprise Gerrard has gone to **** since he left. -
Have we got any proper creative players? last one was Paul Scholes IMO. Sad state of affairs.
-
I'm not so sure, look at what Hiddink has done with various nations at the would cup. All we needed to do was score a goal against Algeria and we would have had **** easy route to the semi's and everyone would be calling Capello a genius. =/ Oh well
-
We need to get rid of Gerrard, Terry, Rio, Lampard and Heskey - they have had so many chances and not performed for us. If those five really cared they would just retire now, Steven Gerrard in particular is a complete **** the way he runs around the pitch in every position but the one he's supposed to be in, he kills the midfield and we lose all sort of shape just because he think he's superman when in reality he's very average (on current form) and obviously far more interested in Liverpool than England. Blood in youngsters like Johnson, Lennon, Walcott, Rodwell, Cahill (the **** wasn't he at the WC?), Delph, Cattermole, Milner, Shawcross, Richards, Wilshere, C Cole etc Hart / Johnson - Cahill - Jagielka - Cole / Milner - Rodwell - Barry - Johnson / Wilshere / Rooney A team like that would do a lot better at euro 2012 than the **** we've been fielding at this tournament.

Andrew Surman Has Been Told He Can Leave.
Andy_Porter replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
You can't compare assist and goal ratios when Surman has always played at a higher level then Puncheon. It's like saying Rickie Lambert or Lee Barnard are better than Drogba or Rooney. Surman would be a class above in this league and it's a shame we're missing out. I'm sure the same people knocking Surman would be praising him if he signed, same if we signed a midfielder like Stock or Danns.
