  1. Well it's a good job Pardew see's it differently imo. He's played more games than most this season and apart from a handfull of games he's had a positive influence. I'd say 22 is young, I guess that's just a matter of opinion though he's far from the finished article and over ther last 18 months he's improved more than anyone. As for being fourth choice in midfield who's the third midfielder who's better? Please don't say Wotton...
  2. Bit harsh to include Lloyd James in with that lot he'd be a valuable squad member in the CCC, one of the best bench options at the club and he's still young.
  3. The game at there place was a shocker they could have scored five or six if it wasn't for Kelvin. Was a real throwback to the season before. It's basically a whole new team from that day I hope we can get some revenge. Massive game and we will win it.
  4. We need our strongest eleven plsying together every game so we can hit the ground running next season. No excuses about a lack of pre season or no time to gel - just title winning form from the off.
  5. Thomas isn't championship standard, he's getting on a bit and hardly stands out in this league in the way Fonte and Jaidi do. He will be one of the first players out in the summer IMO. He's just living off that goal, he really isn't very good.
  6. To have a chance at the play offs in the CCC we would need a right back, a centre back, a central midfielder and a striker. Players like Hammond, Barnard, Ostemebor, Jaidi and James are fine for squad cover but would need replacing in the starting eleven. Would probably cost another 4-5 million to get us up to the premier league. It's a very competitive league and only going to get stronger with Leeds and Norwich going up.
  7. Was a good laugh, hoping for a few more next week mind!
  8. Jose signed Ashley Cole and Ballack was signed same summer as Shevchenko (06 I think) while he was still there. Scolari signed Deco although he was one of Mourinho's boys at Porto.
  9. Only bringing one other with me today.
  10. It might well be better than average but the only teams to impress me this season have been Colchester (really strong unit hard to beat) and Huddersfield (before we signed some proper centre backs) Norwich and Leeds had some obvious quality but they aren't all that. We should be doing a lot better.
  11. Just shows how some teams have so little strength in depth compared to us. Connolly, Murty and Seaborne injured and we bring in Ostemebor, Barnard and Jaidi - Walsall can't bring in similar quality.
  12. Agree unless we hit some sort of disasterous form between now and May he deserves ore season to shape his squad and then at least untill Christmas. If we can keep winning at home then next season we should be right up at the top even if we continue to draw too many away from home. Home form is key and luckily we seem to have nailed that over the last few months.
  13. It's not a competition, I don't know why people take such offense. I'm in a fortunate position that I can get to every game but I know that won't last... With time other things will obviously take priority and I won't be able to justify spending thousands following Southampton every year. It's only a minority who like to stick the boot in about "plastics" we all want the same thing Im not sure why so many threads turn into the same thing - even after a stunning 5-1 win.
  14. Couldn't agree more, hope we go into the game on Tuesday with the same game plan and don't show Huddersfield too much respect.
  15. Schneiderlin really is becoming the real deal, such an immense performance helped by Puncheon playing wide he hit that long diagonal ball so many times perfectly. Everything about his game today was perfect a 10/10 performance. I was his biggest critic last season but he's a totally different player than 18 months ago shows some players just need time. If he continues to dominate games like this then I think in the summer we should look to sign a goal scoring midfielder to play alongside him and replace Hammond in the starting eleven. Just hope he gets the all important first goal soon.
  16. Schneiderlin was brilliant today as usual. He's vital to how we play, I've never been able to understand people who seem to think Hammond is the better player. Time and time again Schneiderlin is doing everything in the middle and pulling the strings. Need to keep hold of him, Lallana and Fonte for next season just vital to our team and style of play. All the lack of consistency, he goes missing, doesn't take games by the scruff of the neck etc posts are rubbish he was like that last season but he's developed loads since then. A class above any of our other central midfielders.
  17. Can't be much worse...
  18. Well of course, I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone as it is just that an opinion. I just find your opinion strange, he might not have been scoring loads recently but the last 5 games have been some of his best for the club imo and I hope he can continue that form over the next three months.
  19. But he scores more than any of our other wingers and also wins more games for us than our other wingers. Only Lambert and Connolly have been more of a match winner than Lallana for us this season.
  20. Yes ahead of those two. Ostemebor is just a bit meh, doesn't ever use his pace and doesn't really get stuck in. Thomas is a bit of a legend but far too limited to play right back. James isn't ideal but I think he's our best right back, I know people dislike him and i'm in a minority thinking he's our best right back. All he really lacks is pace and his heading isn't great.
  21. Davis Ostemebor - Jaidi - Fonte - Harding Lallana - Morgan - Hammond - Puncheon Waigo - Lambert If Schneiderlin isn't fit I'd replace him with Wotton and go 4-5-1 with Puncheon through the middle and Lallana / Waigo outwide. If James is fit i'd stick him right back.
  22. It's ridiculous, it's obvious to me he's one of our best players and one of the best in the league. Whenever I speak to any neutral who watches one of our games they usually single out Lallana. I think some people have a problem with him because he was around last season and was one of Lowe's boys.
  23. He's scored against Exeter and against MK Dons, I don't know why you feel the need to slate Lallana at every turn especially to the point that you're making things up. He's score 14 goals from midfield already this season all from open play, that's better than most strikers in this league. We only done the 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 with Connolly coming on for three games Oldham, MK and Leyton Orient, I wouldn't really say Lallana was any better in those three games. Strange that you mentioned it, his best run of form was after that when we switched to 4-4-2 and Lallana was playing very wide as opposed to the more narrow role he's played over recent weeks.
  24. We really need a convincing win on Saturday, anything less than three points and I fear Pardew may start feeling the pressure of Cortese breathing down his neck.
