Lampard for me has had another solid season - not sure why he gets so much stick, stick him in an advanced centre midfield position and not too deep and let him cause trouble, where Gerrard hasn't done anything really except be injury a fair bit. Gerrard on his day is more dynamic than Lampard but I feel the Gerrard of old won't be seen anymore, too many injuries.

Would be a nice bit of business for 4m squids.

Saints many times in the past have had older players come in and do very well. If I remember right, although a few years ago, the only player I feel we purchased in that relegation season that cost us a bit was Redknapp.

Reo-Coker on a cheap would be good business if we are looking for another holding midfielder. Also that young midfielder from Arsenal, Frimpong looked good for Wolves till he got crocked, maybe available for a years loan.

Will probably end up at Villa again, with his old manager. He is better than Hammond though and for 2m depending on wages would be a welcome addition to the squad.

I've seen 3 Saints shirts at Uni this semester compared with seeing feck all in Perth ever, all worn by Jap looking lads. Guess its the Lee effect. Now we are getting Premier League exposure it can only give us more 'followers'. So basically these extra 3 shirts have given us an extra $300 to play with in the transfer window.

We have Fox for that so pointless imo.

think this tourney could have a Italia 1990 feel to it, whole nation thought we were going to do ****, didn't really do well, lucky to beat Cameroon getting to the Semi...then the whole country got behind the team and were unlucky against the Germans (again). We have a tough group so hope the country doesnt go mental if we don't make it, just get behind the lads whoever is playing and get a good atmosphere going. Makes these tournaments a lot better than the usual negativity that is banded about.

basically it doesnt change anything from now. I'm not sure what to make of all this CL talk, yes NC has mentioned its our target but I'm intrigued at how we are going to manage this. Exciting times though I feel.

I don't agree with you often but you are spot on here. It means top clubs will have to tighten their belt, maybe transfer fees and wages will drop, but ultimately they will still be able to pay more etc due to all that extra worldwide income that clubs like Saints do not currently have coming in. Won't change the structure of the league too much imo.

Would people take Anelka on a one year deal? Seems to have made a bad move to China, thought he was playing well at Chelsea and still don't know why they got rid, maybe him and Torres is too much for a team who mainly play a single striker. Seems to have matured well and isn't the spoilt brat that he was 10 years ago.....33 years old and could do a job for a season imo and would love to get back into the limelight of the PL again.... I know he isnt 'one for the future' which people bang on about but will need experianced prem players in there somewhere. Anyway will never happen......haha

Think people said the same when we signed Paul Williams...he done alright. Then again we have signed some donkey centrebacks over the years as well - he may be another! Guess we got to trust our management team on our signings.

Crouchs volley earlier in the season is better than this one, both good goals though, scored a few like this in my time (yeah right).

Knight is prob worth a punt on a free as a squad player, experianced in the top flight. Better than Martin at the moment (expect to be loaned out) and Seaborne (to be sold imo).

I'm a bit worried by his last outing at this level but Sunderland were pretty **** all over the park that year. I'm sure if we had an option to bring in a better keeper we will but as stated above not an urgent issue.
