How people can do that to innocent animals is beyond me. Heard on the news earlier about a 13 year old boy out walking with his dog in Greater Manchester, a man came up, stabbed the boy's dog to death and then stabbed the boy.

Seems they're relatively in the dark atm about the injury, NA said a few times that they need to wait for the swelling to go down (a few weeks) and then they can properly assess the injury and the course of treatment. The Solent bloke asked whether it was a knock in training and NA said something along the lines of it being a recurring problem and that there was no trauma to cause the injury. Worrying really but i'm sure our physio team will be able to cope, after all they've had plenty of practice with Connolly over the past few years

Quite. He has the quality to be our No.1 keeper but he's been unlucky in that he's been behind a lot of experienced, quality keepers since he's been at the club.

Hope it all goes well for him, would be gutted if he ended up having to cut his career short if there's no solution.

I didn't think them giving him air-time was that far-fetched, after all he was turning the network's fortunes around and making them money. And during his TV rants I drew a lot of parallels between what Howard said and the current US TV situation with Fox et al. spreading their paranoid messages of terrorism, immigration, crime etc. I thought the film was excellent right up until the scene where they're debating his use in the network head's office, and then they come to the conclusion to kill him...? I understand people get boffed all the time in the world, but surely not on live tv? I still think it was excellently written aside from that last 5 minutes or so, it just seemed to me like the writer had spent months constructing all these fantastic speeches (the corporate cosmology one being my favourite) and then had to rush to think of an ending just before the deadline...

Don't like any of the headliners this year although Beyonce might get some good guests on with her (Jay-Z is definitely going to be at the festival anyway as they always go with each other on tour dates) so might be worth a watch. Looks like the Other Stage and West Holts are going to be very good this year; Other Stage headliners are rumoured to be Primal Scream, Chemical Brothers (with Underworld playing before) and The Libertines. West Holts is rumoured to have Jimmy Cliff, BB King and M.I.A.
