  1. I will point out (again) that i'm also a student, that comment was made ironically. People don't realise the impact of the cuts to funding, that's the bit that i'm really p!ssed off about. Paying up to £9000 a year is bad enough, but not having adequate resources with which to do your studies is not on. We're a world leading country for higher education, and a cut to the teaching funding of universities from £3.9bn to £700m is just going to be catastrophic not only for our reputation as a country with excellent higher education standards, but for the chances of survival for specialist institutions such as your drama school, arts colleges etc. I believe (not sure, I will have to check) that the cut in funding for my course (Anthropology) and the social sciences subject area as a whole is also going to be subject to 100% cuts. Appalling imo.
  2. Who are your particular favourites? Could be a composer, conductor, pianist, violinist, anything. The genius violinist David Oistrakh is a hero of mine, his skill with a bow is just unrivalled by anyone. How you can get so much emotion and feeling from some strings, some horse hair and some wood is just beyond me. [video=youtube;SKd0VII-l3A]
  3. Incredibly disappointing result, we'll come to regret losing 3 points today later on in the season when games like this count the most.
  4. Oh for f*ck sake
  5. Don't see why not! Sheff Wed now 3-1 up, scored 2 goals in quick succession. That's how you come from behind Saints!
  6. I just found a £2 coin in my pocket.
  7. On a lighter note, i've just discovered that I live about 2 miles away from Ex-Ringwood Saint.
  8. What we don't want to do now is concede a stupid f*cking goal. Oh.
  9. Sheff Wed equalise against Bristol Rovers.
  10. Skacel scores for Hearts....again. Hearts 2-0 up inside 10 minutes against Aberdeen.
  11. 3pts today Saints, can't afford to be dropping points at home at this stage. Need to go into the New Year firmly in the Play-Off places.
  12. How am I not surprised that Dune is a Love Thy Neighbour fan...
  13. Trousers in thinly veiled promotional attempt shocker
  14. Not any of the ones in London, it costs £30 to get there and back and I don't have that kind of money. Plus, I had lectures to attend and essays to write, those are more important to me at the moment. However, I did attend a few of the protests in Southampton, although they were very feeble and pathetic so they didn't have much impact.
  15. I've technically not paid anything up front, because my tuition loan for the year goes straight to the university. Same for all students with a tuition loan from the SLC.
  16. And hereby you learn a life lesson - all people are thick c*nts.
  17. I will point out that I was making that comment ironically, in order to parody the likes of Turkish etc. I am a student myself.
  18. Dune. Just Dune.
  19. Who are your friends, and why? Deppo is my friend now, because he asked me.
  20. I would like to suggest a topic-within-a-topic, the subject being GILFs.
  21. Bollicks, wrong word again. I would say that a politically charged protest is more viable than a racially charged one tbh...
  22. Having watched videos of the protests and spoken to a few mates that were there, the police were inciting violence. Charging into a crowd with police horses? F*cking moronic police tactics.
  23. Possibly a poor choice of language on my part there, I will change that to 'pointless violence'. The EDL have no political agenda really, except pointless racially aggravated violence (imo). The students are protesting against a political change, a political cause. I think the violence of the protests is slightly OTT, but a hell of a lot of people are very p!ssed off about the proposed (now actual) changes. I'm not using anger to justify the violence, people have got hurt, but people inevitably do stupid things when they get caught up in an angry mob. I'll say again, I don't know a single student who was anything but peaceful at the protests across the country. You'll invariably see people smashing up buildings and throwing missiles, but what you won't see on the news is the tens of thousands who are protesting peacefully and properly.
  24. Virtually the same argument, except students aren't notorious for their inherent racism and thuggish behaviour at every single demonstration.
  25. Yes, because all of the people who are battering police and breaking into buildings are students...
