  3. Did you go to university Stu? Students work very hard to gain a degree, and while there are some pointless ones like Golf Management knocking around, there are a lot of very intelligent people studying very hard subjects which will ultimately lead to very trying careers. Not sure your 'bloody layabout students' thesis is completely generalisable, don't think all the medicine students out there would agree. I'm personally off to university in September to study Anthropology for 3/4 years depending on where I end up, and then spend another 2 years doing some postgraduate study in Marketing or Advertising. These are subjects which will hopefully stand me in good stead for getting a nice, comfortable job which i'm happy with and which will make me a good contributor to society. This is also what 99% of university students out there are aiming to do as well. Very, very few students see university as a chance to doss about for a couple of years, living off your student loan and getting drunk in the student union bar at 10am. Perhaps it might be a good learning experience for you to talk to some students about their work instead of just coming on here and slagging them off. Thank you, and goodnight.
  4. What Tsu said, the emulators themselves are legal but the ROMs you download for them aren't. I wouldn't worry about it though, plenty of illegal stuff knocking about on the internet, not sure the police will come knocking on your door for downloading a few games.
  5. No chance with Bale, he'll go to a Prem club on loan. Far too good for L1. He's had a bad time at Spurs but that shouldn't warrant dropping down a division, thought Brum were rumoured to be interested in him?
  6. Really into Dan Mangan at the moment, he's a singer songwriter from Canada just about to release his second album over here. Watch out for him, he might just launch a sneaky attack on the scene over here in the UK. Hope he comes to play some live shows too, i'm a little bit in love with him. Also listening to a lot of Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses at the moment too, but you already know about them...
  7. Didn't think he'd be good enough to be first team material this season, so this move makes sense. Good luck to him anyway, I wish him all success.
  8. 6ft I think.
  9. The Saints OS had him listed as on loan at Eastbourne yesterday, but now he's not listed as being out on loan. Has he been recalled? If so, what kind of role do you think he could play in the squad at the moment? He's not the central midfielder that we desperately need over the next few games, more of a winger/striker and we already have one of those in Waigo. Still, good to see him back at the club though, because I still think he's got a lot of potential and showed promise last season in the few cameos he made.
  10. When we were drawn against Ipswich I was very happy because I thought this was a very winnable tie, but now with our injuries and suspensions i'm not so sure. We're missing a couple of key, key players in Schneiderlin and Hammond, and other players like Otsemobor, Fonte and Connolly. While i'm not so sure we'll win, I wouldn't be too upset if we lost, because Ipswich are starting to improve now under Keano and they have still got a lot of quality in the side. I'd rather see the team turn their focuses on the JPT and the league, because I feel that these are more important and more achievable goals this season. Maybe next season we can look at having a decent cup run, but for now I think we have other more pressing matters at hand. I'd play: ------------Davis------------ Thomas--Jaidi--Perry--Harding -----------Wotton----------- --------James--Lallana------- Antonio----------------Holmes -----------Lambert----------- Subs: Bart, Martin, Mills, Gobern, Waigo, Saga, McLaggon (if he's back from his loan)
  11. Neither had their best performances, but we were really on form last night and it's hard to play to your best against a team that's closing you down at every opportunity and giving you no time on the ball. Imo Puncheon would sort out our left winger dilemma, because although Lallana has done well there so far this season, it's pretty obvious that he's not a winger judging by the fact that he cuts inside all the time. If we're to utilise him more efficiently in the squad, we should play a flat central midfield of 2 with Lallana playing just behind Lambert and two wingers. Easter i'm not as certain of, but when i've seen him play he's looked pretty good. He was played on his own up front last night, which is difficult for any player (although Lambert managed it just fine), but he dropped back to support the midfield well and played the ball around nicely. We should at least look into him, scout him on saturday and ask after him, because he could be a very good player in this squad imo if we can't get the likes of Jackson and Barnard up front.
  12. Jason Puncheon + Jermaine Easter. Both have already been mentioned, but they were MK Dons best players tonight and well worth a look imo.
  13. I like the look of that, but put Waigo on for Antonio. I know MA had a good game today, but I think he's more of an impact sub.
  14. MS went in slightly late on Gleeson, not a huge amount of contact in the challenge but Gleeson got up and grabbed MS round the throat, MS got sent off while I think Gleeson got off scott free (although he did get booked, not sure if it was in connection with that though because the graphic came up a few minutes later).
  15. +2! The ref was ridiculous today, very biased towards MKD and missed some clear decisions. Did the ref not see the studmarks on Thomas's chest after that challenge? Big scrapes all down him. He shouldn't be reffing f*cking sunday league, let alone at this level.
  16. Very happy with the performance by the lads today, we looked great out there. Fonte looks class at the back, really settled us down. Mills didn't look that brilliant, had a tendency to hoof the ball rather than play it but otherwise quite good. Shame that Lambert didn't get to have a shot on target really, because I had a feeling he'd score. That ref was f*cking useless though, it was a clear penalty with the handball, he had a clear view of it yet he decided otherwise. Also, Schneiderlin's sending off was ridiculous. The other player grabbed him by the shirt after MS went over to apologise, then MS pushes him away and he gets sent off for it, a straight red as well! If I was AP i'd be furious with that decision. Lets just hope we can come through the second leg as strongly as we did today, and set ourselves up for a nice day out at Wembley! COYR!
  17. It's so frustrating that you can see that Obama is just trying to give everybody equal rights when it comes to healthcare, but people are too short sighted to see that their few extra dollars in tax a month will go to help people who otherwise couldn't get medical attention. I'm reminded of the story of a terminally ill boy in one of the southern states in the USA whose family couldn't afford healthcare, so prayed for him while he died, when a hospital trip could have potentially saved his life and decreased the severity of his condition. What is the point in electing a President who is promising change if the people who voted for him (or rather the representatives that they elect to vote on these issues) aren't willing to change the stale policies that are in place at the moment. Madness.
  18. Bookies decision is final.
  19. My mistake, I apologise. Interesting to see Saga on the bench, might add something to the Pato leaving rumour. I wonder if he'll be put on or if he's just there to give us an attacking option other than Papa?
  20. Well, I would've thought the fullbacks would be the obvious choices, apart from maybe James at RB, although Pards has said that he'll be taking a more midfield role.
  21. Now taking bets on the time gap between Arizona posting that and Matthew Le God's irate reply. 1 minute - 2/1 3 minutes - 4/1 5 minutes - 7/1 10 minutes - 10000000/1
  22. I knew that, I guess 'creators' was the wrong term to use. How about 'the current developers'?
  23. Except for Wotton, who was captain at Plymouth for ages. And Davis, who was our captain for the majority of the season. And also Thomas and Perry who have both had captain status in games for this club and others. So yeah, nobody else really
  24. That site reckons that Graeme Murty is worth £1.3mil
