IIRC we actually played Ramirez as a false 9, with Rickie and Jay either side and Lallana sitting alongside Cork (or was it Davis?) in the midfield. We were doomed from the start. Awful day out, couldn't see anything above the player's head height because of the weird away stand and the home fans were sh!t as well. Only redeeming feature was drinks before in The Arkles, which is a cracking pub.

Had a look last night, seems a bit tentacle-rapey for me! I'll watch the thing during the week though, seems like an interesting premise.

An opportunity has come up for me to transfer my job up to Edinburgh, for which I am going to stick my application in tonight. Have wanted to move there for a while, but hadn't bargained on it happening this soon. Anyone else got experience of being "new to town" in Edinburgh? I'd be living not too far from Easter Road in Leith in terms of area too.

Also, if we end up selling Lallana (god, I hope not) then we can get Adam Maher in for his replacement. Wouldn't say no to Depay either to replace Ramirez..

I've tried something a bit different recently - an anime called Attack on Titan (or Shingeki no Kyojin for those Japanese-speakers among us). Not really watched any anime before, so I was really pleasantly surprised by this. Inventive and interesting story-line, compelling and also doesn't hold back on the violence. Normally I would say to give the first episode a watch to see if you like it, but as soon as you watch the first episode you'll have the second one loading in the background already! Looking forward to Season 2, but we have to wait nearly 2 years for that now

He was a great little winger, superb turn of pace. +2 on that vote please MLG.

We've become a bit of a soft touch since NC has gone, I don't think we'll ever see somebody at the helm of the club with so much control over everything. The new board don't really seem to know what they're doing, and it's heartbreaking to see all the good work from our rise back up the leagues go to sh!t in the same month that we recorded our best ever Premier League finish and had 3 (nearly 4, now 2) players named in the England WC squad. I'm just worried about lurching back into that unstable period under Lowe where we sold off our best players but didn't invest the money again properly. I really do hope that this is mostly just spin and PR, but there's a sickening feeling right now that we're going backwards again.

I feel like crying, this bloke just epitomises for me the re-birth of this club and now he's going to be playing for someone else. It's going to be f*cking strange seeing someone else wear the #7 shirt next season - which I imagine is what most people said after MLT retired.

Yeah, why not. I finally get to apologise to Pap for insulting his missus at Wigan last year anyway -
What, the one that MON bought in Winchester?

Gordon Strachan got the training kit delivered to his doorstep yesterday.

Would be stupid to rule out some very good candidates purely because of their language - get him here before the World Cup, get him settled and get him learning English. A new manager would have several weeks before even pre-season training starts.
-
Sorry Papsicle, I think Barry Sanchez has his CV in for that already, being a proper scouser and all.

Well, reading through the most recent posts on this thread (http://www.fcbforum.ch/forum/showthread.php?35549-Yakin-raus) it looks like they're not criticising him for a lack of loyalty, although the fans were a bit p!ssed off at only playing one striker. Apparently he was fond of a bit of golf instead of putting in all the hours on the training ground like Poch did as well..!

We've probably got a Swiss football expert somewhere on here, i'm sure they'll tell you. Going by the statement that Basel made when he left they don't seem unhappy.

"Mutual consent" - i.e. bigger things. Don't think he's disloyal, seems to have left the club on very good terms.

Really looking forward to seeing this lot now, first heard them on a compilation CD that came with NME years ago and started listening again when I saw them on the lineup. PS: I agree with Swanny's tips about using the portaloos later in the evening or when it's cooler - nothing worse than the smell of a warmed-up portaloo! You just have to be mindful about what may be lurking on the floor/seat/walls/ceiling (honestly, i've seen sh!t on the ceiling in several before). -
True, but it's pretty absurd to think the same rules still apply.
-
Well, not really. You can't just land on a set of uninhabited islands and go "Yep, this is ours now". It's like if nobody lived on the Isle of Wight and some Albanian settlers moved in there and claimed it as their own. Obviously Brits landed there a while ago now, but it's the same principle - just because it's uninhabited doesn't mean it's not part of somebody's territory.
-
Remind me Brett, what claim did we have to the Falklands apart from the fact that Brits landed there? I completely respect the people's decision to remain part of Britain, and obviously it's a tragedy that people have died over the argument, but what claim do we really have to them? "Thieved" is a strong word, but it's not entirely false either..

To be fair, I think he's got a point - however he's been acting very odd the last couple of months. Starting a lengthy argument with Katie Hopkins (formerly of The Apprentice, now children's name snob) was a particular low point, especially when she owned him in one tweet and he cried racism because somebody mocked one up of her sending him racial abuse. Seems he'll jump on anything to be in the spotlight, constantly retweeting the abuse he gets (that no other celebrities get, of course) and whining about it rather than doing the sensible thing, reporting it and just getting on with his day.
-
Wouldn't mind taking him as a player if he can ping one of these in every once in a while either In all seriousness though, he seems like a good fit for us - we just have to make sure he's the right guy to take us forward (tbh I would take sideways).
-
Poyet is the last person I would hire - decent record as a manager but he's a complete odious c*nt. If Poch is off there are candidates to replace him, but nobody who will rock the boat and upset the good team spirit we have (currently).
