Don't know about that - Snodgrass aside they're all pretty exciting young talents who are established at a certain level already. Quite refreshing to see a club go out and sign young players for European competition than signing up a load of journeymen or veterans. I wouldn't be thrilled if we had signed all of them, but for a club like Hull they're great signings, and ones that will grow as the club does. Good business by Bruce imo.

Hull just signed Harry Maguire from Sheff Utd and Andrew Robertson from Dundee Utd. Two young defenders with good potential - they've done some good business this summer..

[video=youtube;RTHXzHFDK-U]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTHXzHFDK-U Question 1 - How many times was she dropped on her head as a baby? Question 2 - Is she too stupid to poke?

Only just discovered this lot, seems they've been around for a couple of years. I like this song, features King Krule (who i've never got into personally). Thought i'd share it.

Hopefully the Liebherrs along with Reed and Krueger will be gone by January. Shame that it's come to that, but I think their position is untenable in the long term now.

Just listened to this - by refusing to condemn the murder of women and children by the Israeli government, is Emma Barnett not tacitly supporting it? Funny how quick she was to chuck the threat of a libel case at Sayle for saying that.

I think Brett lost his job in Little Chef guys, he has a lot of time on his hands nowadays. Lets not persecute him, yeah?

Club has got some serious work to do to get us back onside now. Time to splash the cash to try and patch this up..

Also helps if you're already playing for the 2nd biggest team in the country who have CL football... Dortmund are on a whole different level from us.

Duly noted Sue, just got tired of reading all the negative stuff and wanted to put my point across too.

We did a fair amount of business after our first game in our first season back in the Prem, and the side that finished the season under MP looked pretty strong. Also, we really don't need to sign more than 5 players. Confirmed/Possible Outs from last season's first team: Lambert (replaced by Pelle) Lallana (replaced by Tadic) Shaw (Targett?) Chambers (probably) Lovren (hopefully) Osvaldo (very hopefully) Guly (I miss Guly) Schneiderlin (possibly) 5 players will be enough to cover the losses of those players, and I don't think MS will leave personally. We have young players coming through to provide squad depth, all we need is to sign players who will add the quality in our squad.
-
Disqualified Morgan because he's a Jamaican international, forgot about Albrighton. The "nucleus" of our team will be replaced though. If we haven't signed players of a similar quality to Pelle and Tadic to replace those outgoing by September I will be worried, but we still have 5 weeks to make those signings, as well as the Jan window. Koeman probably has a good idea about where exactly we need to strengthen now, so i'm keen to see who we bring in. It's not like we don't have the money to replace those we've lost either..
-
Hmm... GK: Hamer RB: ?? LB: Konchesky CB: Moore, Upson CM: Hammond, James AM: Drinkwater, Taylor-Fletcher, Nugent ST: Vardy Wouldn't say they're any better myself. Only part of the team I think they're stronger on is Central Defence.. but maybe i'm splitting hairs.

5 weeks to sign 5 or so players. Just can't feasibly be done. brilliant

5 weeks until the window closes. brilliant

But that's the nature of our league unfortunately - pretty much all of the players in the Prem that qualify as "World Class" aren't British. I implore you to put out a Starting XI of English players from another Prem team that would do better than that. The only one I can think of that might run them close is Villa, but they've only got so many English players in their team because of their good academy and the fact that their owner doesn't want them spending any money.
-
-----------------DAVIS-------------------- CLYNE---TURNBULL---STEPHENS---TARGETT ------------CORKY---REED----------------- RODRIGUEZ-------JWP------------MCQUEEN ---------------GALLAGHER----------------- Don't think too many other Prem teams could put out a Starting XI of purely English players that could compete with that. And that's leaving out the likes of S.Davis and Isgrove for their Irishness and Welshness respectively. It's not a great team, but we have a lot of English players in our first team compared to teams that finished around us last season.

I guess having a wage bill of over £1m per week for your playing staff and the cost of developing the training ground would have incurred a bit of debt. Depends on what other costs the club has, the academy has a pretty large budget IIRC.

We had a contribution from a Feyenoord fan on here after RK was appointed saying that he took a dim view on players thinking they were too big for the club - I think he'd rather take the money and sign another player than have to pander to big egos which IIRC was something that people sounded very in favour of, so with our re-evaluated goals I think departures were inevitable. The interesting part for me is seeing what he'll do with the funds we've gathered from player sales and how he'll build his squad. With the good crop of youngsters coming through we'll probably see some more experienced heads to balance the team out a bit. Imo obviously.

We've clearly marked Pelle as our main striker, got Gallagher coming through as 3rd choice so Ings seems like a good fit to me - provided he can cut it at this level. Also has the added bonus of being young and English, and a Saints fan to top it off. For the right price I would be all for him tbh. Also, the last time we signed a proven top level striker he drained a lot of money from transfer and wages, and punched a team mate in the face. Don't think we'll be too keen to take a gamble like that again when we can develop somebody to potentially be of that quality anyway.
-
And if anyone knows a pointless thread, or even how to make it pointless - it's definitely you Hypo. You're so desperate to be right all the time, did your parents not appreciate you enough when you were little or something? Grow up and realise that everyone has a different opinion about what's going on and you have no right to act so holier than thou about your witterings.
-
Because posting on a forum about how angry you are is totally comparable to stopping a mugging. Calm down, we will bring players in. It's not like we have to play games with 8 players, Koeman wants a squad who will actually want to play for the club.
-
If the fee is close to the £16m that's being reported, I think it's a fair deal tbh. Always a shame to see academy players leave, but without changing positions his development would have stalled, so I can't blame him for wanting to go to Arsenal to have a crack at getting a first-team place there. We can get in a good replacement (maybe somebody versatile who can play across the defence or in midfield too) for a fraction of the price and maybe selling Chambers means keeping Schneiderlin? Who knows?
