  1. Of course they'll survive. And with their squad, might be promoted this season. It's laughable really. I wish the media would stop buying Chanrai's ****

Dune, why do you spend all this time collating this information? It's a bit weird. If someone's slightly genetically different to you, there's no need to be scared.
  3. Get in ... Pam Ayres, Massey Ferguson, Justin Lee Collins, Mr Blackthorn, Jethro and other west country folk
  4. Anyone else watching. I reckon we have a chance. Somerset's real strength is their batting and we did well to restrict them.
  5. Trouble is, there was a distinct lack of fight or spirit amongst the players. It's an unforgiving league.
  6. Just back from filming the Coventry v Pompey game for Goals on Sunday. Pompey were dreadful and despite looking good in possession didn't create a noteworthy chance all game. Against a typically disciplined Aidy Boothroyd team. Seems to be a complete lack of spirit and a lot of shrugging shoulders when passes went astray. They will struggle this season. My brief was to focus on Pompey and their fans. And much as it pains me to say, the away support was decent. Not in numbers but a hardcore bunch (TCWTB et al) stayed on for 20 mins after the game until the Cov stewards moved them on. I haven't really seen anything like it before.
  7. No, of course not. It's not even representative of the vast majority of people who log in to this site, let alone all Saints fans. Saying that, it is a first port of call for info and some threads are very very funny. The Pompey Takeover Thread makes me feel better every day. It's just a shame that every discussion seems to end up with the same posters arguing again and again and again ad infinitum.
  8. Let's get things in perspective. Just over 12 months ago , we were days away from liquidation and not having a club to support at all. The fact some are moaning about the lack of quality signings in certain positions beggers belief. We are outspending any team in this division and have effectively bought it's top scorers. It's best left back, a championship quality central defender. A right back which Charlton fans seem to rate highly et al. And perhaps more ... Markus Liebherr has no affinity to football or Southampton. Cortese convinced him it might be a decent investment. Let's not take it for granted.
  9. It's my livelyhood. Yes, I'm a Saints fan and work for Sky. I would contribute more on any thread, but it's the same people arguing about stuff, Again and again. It's frankly a bit dull. Sorry, There's an army of people out there who are just fans. Cortese is a "nutter", I've heard that and he's not well liked by the media.
  10. "I cannot say what I think would better, but I can try to make some suggestions that I think could be plausible. This is so tricky because the first question is would Hitler have left us to it, and would we be an equal ally - i think not - because by the very fact we sought an alliance (we were the colonial power) would mean that the top dog in the pact would have been the germans. It is reasonable to assume that we would have had to have adopted their race policies (to an extent or to their entirity) but you have to remember that in the 1940's Britain was essentially anglo saxon and our main immigration had come from Ireland and Protestant Huegenots from France. Discount the norman conquest and all that mixing of race because it was/is so mixed it is who we all are." Are you serious? I really hope not. I'm really hoping you haven't thought, I'll write a rationale of Nazism, in a way that others will think hang on maybe they had a point. I really hope that wasn't your mindset.
  11. I'm not Delldays
  12. I liked Carol Vordermort, until she went on question time and spouted that scripted Tory dribble.

  22. "With his talent and experience, I expect to see him win the Golden Boot as Europe's top scorer next season" I really hope your being sarcastic, have you seen him play?
  23. Seems that my prediction was more accurate than yours. Did Hoolihan play today? I don't recall hearing that he made a monkey of anybody. Otsemobor seems to have had a decent game. Two goals from Barnard, but Lallana ought to have had two and Puncheon should have scored too. Apart from Colchester, it seems that we have shown Norwich to be not as invincible as their home form and league position suggest. We didn't just win; we won convincingly. Reply With Quote Ok, I'm delighted to be wrong. Best result of the season tbh. And Hoolihan is rated as the best player in this league by certain pundits on Sky. Hence my comment. I'm a pessimist by nature, being a Saints fan. It's all a bit good now.
  24. We'll do well to get a draw today, just to dampen expectation Wes Hoolihann on the left, is the best player in this league and will make a monkey out of whoever we put up at right back. IE We don't have a proper one. Otsemobor will play no doubt.
  25. That is beautiful ... Thanks.
