Glad we are back on topic! Bloody annoying when people start side tracking! I whole heartedly agree with your comment sir, she is a fine young filly. May I also throw Amy Smart (Butterfly Effect) into the mix? -

I saw on the news that some die hard fans are still laying flowers outside Neverland ranch three weeks after michael jackson's death. What the **** are die hard fans doing there? Let the michael jackson fans grieve in peace and wait your turn. Bruce Willis has got a good few years in him yet... -

where have we said "we want it now" and where have we encouraged each other? It's you hapy clappers that shadow each other from thread to thread posting your boring "In AP we trust" and "I'm just happy to have a club" tosh. We have different opinions - live with it bucko. I'm not a "Yoof" i'm just a fan that wants the best for my team and have not resigned myself to accepting 2nd best. -
Saints miss out on Jaidi signing

Maybe I should have worded the initial post differently Micky yes, what I meant on reflection was that I would not be best pleased if it transpired that the original reason given for the failure to sign Jaidi was not true, which it looks likely is the case. It can be argued from both sides till we are blue in the face how this information came to light and I appreciate it was not directly from the club in the form of an official announcement. I cannot say in certainty that it even came indirectly from the club, but I am pretty sure that it has, one way or another. For that reason, I am bemused as to why (possibly) someone from the club has said the deal is (all but?) dead due to work permit issues when they have not even applied for one yet! They may have a very strong feeling that they will be refused a permit, however, as it has also been pointed out from many posters, there is an open appeal process which is very thorough and there is a good chance (seeing as he has resided and played in England for the last 5 years) that the appeal will be successful. So the fact that the club are not willing to even bother trying (from what the Echo have indirectly reported) is somewhat confusing? I believe there is other information they are not telling us about which is an underlying reason. I would like to know why they would not like to inform us of this information as it would put a lot of peoples mind's at ease I believe. -

Completely agree with this. I really dont see why we dont atleast try to get the permit. It is not as if we are trying to sign some 13 year old Thai boy who plays Sunday football! This is a player who has been living in England and playing at the top levels in English football for the last 5 years. Ok he may not have played over 75% of Tunisia's games in the last 12 months, but he used to be the Tunisian captain for gods sake! Dark Sotonic Mills pointed out that he should be able to register for citizenship now anyway, so something isnt right that they a) believe they will be rejected and b) wont even bother trying! -

Ok, ill give you a shout when I finish with her... -
I think the point that SR is making though is that from what has been mentioned, Jaidi knew he would not get a permit. So why is his agent touting him around in the UK if Jaidi knows he will not be able to get a permit? This is all superficial though seeing how DSM has pointed out the rules whereby if you reside in a country for 5 years, you are entitled to apply for citizenship (or something along those lines) so he shouldnt need a WP! Im with SR on this one. The reason given (WP Issues) does not stack it with me. There is another reason that they are hiding.

Not a good look Im afraid

Isnt Sodje a bit injury prone?! Cant believe Sol is on the verge of joining Notts County! What a coup that will be for them. God knows how they will fund his wages though, I know they have been taken over, but he must still be wanting a fair few grand each week!

Agree with your post mate. I do not believe we have been given the real reason as to why the Jaidi deal fell through either. I followed this point up with the fact we have been misinformed and mislead by previous regimes and that I hoped we would not suffer the same under ML's leadership. God smite me down for saying that. I am glad we are under ML's guidance, believe me I am! But if he wants to make SFC a successful business, it needs to be in the Premiership benefitting from the improved attendances, Sky money and higher marketing ability. Without bringing in players capable of pushing us up the league, then this will not happen. Remember, we have two strikers in Rasiak and Saga, who do not wish to be here. So we cannot really rely on them. Add that to the fact we have lost David McGoldrick, Bradley Wright Phillips, Andrew Surman, Stern John, Nathan Dyer, John Paul Seize, Zoltan Liptak, Jason Euell plus Im sure a few i have missed out on, we have a team a LOT weaker than last year. We need players and the sooner this is rectified, the quicker we can start moving up the league heading to the Premiership where we will become a profitable company!

Ok, now for some major quote'age as I am not on here often and it seems in my absence, I took a kicking. Following through the rest of the thread, while people have not (for Micky's purpose) indicated they are not happy with the board (which I stress I am happy with the board) It does appear with some of the latter posts in this thread that there IS underlying reasons which may NOT be associated to the WP issue. Which begs the question "Who told us it was a WP issue? Why did they tell us that, and what is the real reason?" God SR, how very dare you have a differing opinion to any of the other happy clappers on here! Thats just god damn rude! I am not a moaner, I just like to look at things from a different angle which will inevitably give me differing views of other people. I am glad I have a club yes, but that doesnt mean I will be content with mid table League 1 obscurity for th next god knows how many years. Which on the face of it, with our current team looks very likely. We are too weak to compete with the top teams in this league and need to sign quality players who will help us achieve our goal of getting back up to the CCC and then the Prem. Jaidi is IMO one of these players, so excuse me for being a little p****d that it hasnt come off. It is being questioned now that they didnt even apply for a work permit, let alone appeal. DSM has proven that a WP should not be an issue and Im sure the legal bods at SMS would know this too. So what is the real reason? And why is this being withheld from us? If you read the post I was replying to VS it mentioned (I believe) people like the FA and immigration hence why I said they would not be privvy to contract talks. It did not mention the player or their agent, who of course would have that information. :backatyourollyeyedthing: Yes, he was a promising player. Funny story is that he was dating a friend of mine and his agent approached her mother suggesting he would be prepared to pay a handsome sum if she agreed to wed him so he could stay here! Again Lordswood Saint... dont you dare have a differing opinion! It's not allowed on here. The format for threads is strictly someone starts a thread and everyone has to all say "I completely agree with that, good post". Yes, very confusing and you have to question why if what DSM says is true. So you are saying that what has come out (directly or otherwise for Mickys sake) is maybe not true! prepare to be abused by many! See above comment, prepare for a bashing from people! Thank you DSM. I chose to question this and the 'reasons' given for the move falling apart and people tear me apart for it. Ok I may not have used the best wording to relay my point, but because I chose to look at it from a different point, people slate me. So not WP issues then. Sounds possibly like something coming up in the medical, or that the player was wanting too much money? Dont see why else the club would feel they need to protect the player and our club?! -

And I sincerely think you are a tool, but I didnt call you an 'idiot' for having a view different to mine did I? I maybe being paranoid, but given the sheet we have had to put up with under the previous regime, I think I can be excused for it. -

Erm, I didnt 'throw this conspiracy into the mix' it was someone else and I commented on it. Besides, as this is a forum, it is used for people to discuss views, theories and thoughts. A side note of this is that not everyones views are the same. Evidently. Otherwise it would be a very dull place if we all agreed.
